  • Abra doesn't learn any moves by leveling up. You have to evolve it to Kadabra or use TM's. It can, however, be born with egg moves...which you might want to conscider if you aren't wanting to evolve it.

  • You can only teach him new moves by HM or TM. Level it up 2 levels to evolve it and you'll get some new moves too.

  • Abra will not learn any move by itself but egg move which available when you hatch the egg. On lv. 16 Abra will evolve into Kadabra and learn Confusion directly. I want to share my experience that I stop my Abra evolved on lv. 16, then let it evolve on lv. 17. My Abra only evolved into Kadabra without learning Confusion.

Definitley teach Abra special attack moves. Also i recommend that you evolve it as fast as possible and teach it confusion

He has finally evolved and I know confusion.

    What are 'special moves'

Are those things like Rock Smash / Surf / Fly etc?

  • Special attack is a move that deal damage based on pokemon's special attack, such as Psychic, Confusion, Psybeam, Dream Eater, Surf, Hydro Pump, etc...

Almost all elemental attacks based on special attack.
They are Fire, Water, Psychic, Shadow, Electric, etc.

Try think realistically. Is scratch, snatch, peck, drill peck, dragon claw etc., do they sound as though they touch the foe in some way physically? Then it's a physical atk. If not then it's a special atk

If you want Abra to have moves, breeding is the best bet. You can use HM's and TM's also. If you don't want to do those, then just give Abra an Experience Share.
