So I was a big fan of the AA series with PW, the plot was very new and smart - and the gameplay was surprisingly great. I was looking forward to Apollo Justice, as it's the first AA game that wasn't a cross over from the GBA games.

To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with how much they had changed it. The biggest change was being able to notice slight changes in body-movement of the witnesses, but instead of doing what most normal people do (look with their eyes), Apollo uses his handy "magic bracelet".

    ...Wait, what?

Other than this strange new technology which is slightly far-fetched for the series, the plot and gameplay still upheld the great standards of the AA series. Your thoughts?

Personal thought, With all the innovations that could be made on the DS i think AJ could have been more different and even more fluid than the PWAA, ive been getting deeply inside the game and i've found out that they leave WAY too much empty space inside the cartridge, space they could use for more graphics or a better system of the game.

I think also that the PW ones are until now the best AA game since its something classic and that people alredy knew about it so we know what to expect, but that doesn't mean the changes in AJ should had been such little... I mean, why the heck do you want to examine a bottle from every angle??? I know that's part of the plot but MAN! they could've came up even with more interesting stuff for this one D:

Actually... did you play through the whole game? He doesn't use his bracelet specifically--it's all explained in the last case. But I don't want to spoil you if you haven't finished, so I'll stop there.

Anyway, I'm a huge fan of the series. I actually really liked AJ, though it seems I'm the only one in the thread so far. :( My favourite part of the first PW game was the extra case because I loved examining stuff and whatnot--I was really happy to get to do that again and even MORE in AJ. I'm rather content they didn't change too much. Mind you, I wouldn't have minded having more cases since the DS is definitely capable of storing them, but I can't complain. The game was definitely worth the money I spent on it.

I really liked the game to be honest, it was a very good supplement to the Wright series. They didn't make any major changes, but to be honest I wasn't really expecting or wanting any. Just as long as it keeps delivering well-written storylines and relatively interesting gameplay mechanics I'll be happy

[shamless_plug] Also, if you like the Ace Attorney series, join my Ace Attorney fan club! I generally keep it pretty up-to-date with news and stuff on games coming out.[/shameless_plug]

I ended up playing Apollo Justice first before the Phoenix Wright series xP. Actually it seemed pretty fun to me. Are the first 3 games good?

The first three games are awesome. They don't have the touch screen capabilities as AJ, but they're still tons of fun. I'd definitely recommend them.

Mmm is anybody here planning on getting the spin-off series Turnabout Prosecutor (Gyakuten Kenji) when it come out?

I will!!~ It would be almost like playing a law and order game (you are the prosecutor and get the bad guy!~) That would sooooooo rocks also, but i mean not that the AA aren't bad at all, i mean who on a sane judgment would not agree that they are good?

And Lightning, i am getting to the last case of Apollo Justice just to see the explanation about he's bracelet xD. (and i wanted to take it a wee more slow paced D:)

I want to get Gyakuten Kenji, but do you guys think it would be released in the US? I really liked Miles Edgeworth and I want him to be a protagonist...

Seeing as though they released all of the Ace Attourney games and may plan to release the 5th game in the US also. They probably will bring Gyakuten Kenji to the US too.

Yeah, it'll come here. I've almost no doubt about it. :x I guess I'm looking forward to it, probably just so I can see some older characters again for the nostalgia, but I'm not sure how I feel about it not being a court game. 8(

Oh yeah that's right. Apparently it seems like we're supposed to be investigating places in the trailer.

Yeah, pretty much all we know about the game so far is that it features a few old character, Edgeworth is the main character, and there are no court sessions. :P

Last case of the first game did (since it was made specially for the DS version).

I LOVE the Ace Attorney series, and I wasn't disappointed in AJ at all. I liked the bracelet, since they explained it at the end, and Apollo turned out to be a cooler character than I expected. Each case in the game kind of had a role in tying the ends together in case four, and all in all I'd recommend this series to any gamer.

I actually started with the first PW when it came out but I was young and stupid then so I gave up after the second trial. xP I tried the next two but I dunno why I could never sit down and finish them, but I just couldn't.

AJ on the other hand had me glued to the tiny dual screens for the week it took me to finish it. I loved it. <3 Like Koneko said, def a worthy purchase, to any gamer...mostly. Cx

So, if Gyakuten Kenji does get released in the US, what do you think is it's name? Will they retain it to "Turnabout Prosecutor"? Or will they name it something like "Miles Edgeworth: Ace/Turnabout Prosecutor"?

Also, I liked the PW series better than AJ. But AJ's not bad either.

Mm I've also heard a few times that it might be Pro Prosecutor but meh... they both sound ok.

I love all the AA games. Was reluctant at first to get it, but when I borrowed a friend's to try it, I got hooked. It funny though, every time I got my hands on a AA game, I end up playing it a little too much and finish it in a week. I just get too obsessed with it and all the magic is gone until the next comes out.

I like Apollo Justice. I found the difficulty stayed nice, and the characters were lovable as usual. Of course I think Phoenix is much better than Apollo though, Apollo doesn't have the same presence as Phoenix, I remember everyone else a lot more than I do Apollo. Of course though I missed some of the older characters like Gumshoe and Maya, but Trucy is cool. I was disappointed by the prosecutors. Payne, Franziska, Manfred, and Edgeworth are all amazing. Glad to see Payne back, but it was sort of disappointing all 4 other cases were Gavin. Gavin I liked for his theme and sometimes the air guitar. Over all I found him arrogant, acts too cool, and is too "Goody goody". I know in a way that is describing Edgeworth, but Edgeworth is a jerk at times, isn't so much as "cool" but "sophisticated" and "classy" in ways.

Well speaking of Edgeworth, I wasn't sure what I thought about Perfect Prosecutor. The idea of a prosecutor game I tried to deny being possible. It works different than a DA, you instead have to choose witnesses, have counter evidence, and do things in a way that might not works as well. Defending allows for the game to move the actions around them, and to defend what is given. Prosecuting I would think would be too open ended for a game to handle.

Well the game has been announced and I like it. Not only for the fact you can Edgeworth, but also because I thought of something. Normally you get a side kick assistant in AA games. Now this time though you wouldn't have Maya or Trucy. Instead you would get Gumshoe. The prospect of having Gumshoe at my side all the time, and playing as Edgy are plenty enough to sell this game to me. I still don't' know though how they will work the court system for this. Also the games always seemed to push the whole "the defendant is most likely a good guy" and that prosecutors are the bad guys, so how will the game handle the moral inversion.
