So as many of you probably know, achievements are a popular staple in video games today, and work by either adding to the player's score or granting them an item or power-up whenever the player completes a certain requirement or does a certain action. Now, what if Pokemon had achievements? Would you like it? Feel free to post any achievements for Pokemon, that you've thought up, here.

Here's a few of my own:

Powerful Ally: Obtain a Pokemon with a BST of 550 or more.
Tour De Unova [or any region name]: Travel more distance on your bike than on foot.
Not Great, but pretty good: Capture over 50 Pokemon using a Poke Ball.

Omg I would be obsessed with these. I can't not strive for achievements.

Too Cute to Evolve: Stop a Pokemon from evolving for 10 or more levels.
Uphill Battle: Defeat a Pokemon that is strong against your own.
Gambling Addict: Spend over 10 game hours in the Game Corner.

Haha, achievements would be brilliant. And they'd probably put in awkward ones like:

Third time lucky: Challenge a gym three times, whiting out the first two times and beating the gym leader the third time.

I would absolutely love achievements. I'm just curious as to what they'd have in mind as rewards for these. I can't see a point system doing much, so perhaps more aesthetic rewards would be nice? Different types of clothing? Secret areas not usually accessible? Early Pokemon availability? They could do some really awesome stuff with an achievement system, without a doubt.

Shinies Don't Matter: Defeat a shiny Pokemon in one hit by means other than a critical hit.

Top Percentage Awe: Beat Youngster Joey at least ten times.

I Love Caves!: Spend more than 25 hours of game time in a cave.

I Like to Go Boom: Use Selfdestruct/Explosion more than 50 times.

I Told You Not to Use That Here!: Get the "There's a time and a place for everything. But not now." message at least 50 times.

The Ones Who Got Away: Faint at least 100 Pokemon that you found by fishing.

I think they would have casual awards like money or items. Items such as elemental stones, Rare Candy, TMs, etc. However, if you unlock all of them you should get a big reward.

Now I think achievements might be implemented in future or present fan-games or ROM hacks. XD

lol, I'll think of more things.

I still want a Pokemon game with Trainer Levels where your pokeballs have higher change of catching, Pokemon have a higher chance of listening to you (starting out as Pokemon that don't listen, maybe related to happiness), etc... As well as changing hair, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, head, body type, and clothes with a matching overworld sprite and allowing you to play local or wifi with other people like in groups. It wont ever happen sadly but its awesome for an idea...

Skin of its Teeth: Defeat an opponent's Pokemon while your Pokemon's health is in the red. (You get the reference?)
Brock Would Be Proud: Hatch your 25th Pokemon egg.
Mastered the Elements: Beat the Elite 4 and Champion with every starter Pokemon in 3 separate plays of the game.

I definitely agree we won't see that in depth type of customization, but I can easily see them adding some sort of clothing customization in the future. Changing coats, hats, maybe even pants... I can see it happening later down the road. Facial features though, I definitely can't see them going that far. I imagine it's because they want to keep the general image of the characters the same.

As for that Trainer Leveling, sounds appealing but I think they'd have to find a nice middle ground between that and what we have right now. I don't want it to turn into something that simply isn't Pokemon anymore, if you catch what I mean.

    Achievements are AWESOME.

    Here are some I've thought...

    - One-in-a-life catching: Catch a Legendary with a Pokè Ball and full life (barely impossibile :D)
    - Rookie's power: Defeat the Pokemon League Champion using a team with 15 levels below the weakest one.
