4th Gen Action Replay Question.

I'm wanting to restart my Pokemon Diamond game since I recently picked up an action replay and now I can play through with my six favorite Pokemon.

My question is this: Can I have National Dex Pokemon *Without* having the National Pokedex first? Or will they not register?

I traded myself a few national dex pokemon before I finished to help myself out, so yes, you can.

Um, hmm... So I restarted my game and advanced to Oreburgh City (the code I use requires that I talk to the guy who revives fossils at the museum). But every time I put in a code to receive a Pokemon (say, for example, Bulbasaur), he hands me a Dusknoir.

Does this mean that I *can't* get National Dex Pokemon without getting the National Dex itself, or am I doing something wrong?

You can still trade over any National dex pokemon without completing the game first. As for catching/hacking, I'm pretty sure that would still work too regardless of what dex you have. Btw, Dusknoir is not in the National Dex either so that can't be the problem. What this seems like to me is that you're using/inputting the code wrong. Please go here then, where your question should have gone in the first place. Also, please don't double post. ^^;
