Who would like to see some more activity around here? Have you got any ideas about how to make this place more active?

Because I'd like to see something else going on in here lol. ;x Honestly it might just be as simple as making more threads idk but when the only post outside of the DCC is almost a week old, something probably needs doing.

This has been suggested before, but what do you suggest to remedy the situation? Most of the topics as of late are just questions about being a supporter, what perks you like, general donating surveys. Most of the discussion is covered in the other forums. There isn't much of an exclusive feeling just a feeling of oh hey another discussion relating to donating or the Supporter DCC which mirrors the one in Other Chat.

I wouldn't mind seeing this place more active, even though I didn't pay to get my Supporter Status, it'd still be cool if this forum was actually as great as the name "VIP Forum" makes it out to be.

That's the thing really. I don't have many suggestions, and I was wondering if anyone else did since I can't think of much other than it being an alternate Other Chat, which is sorta pointless.

It'd be nice to be more involved in forum decisions but I'd imagine most of them are left to the staff forums exclusively. So, stuck.

We kind of talked about something similar to this here.

I think the last input we really has was the date for GT8. And I would have liked to help with the Wifi Trading Alpha but I never heard anything from it.

Maybe instead of trying to improve this forum we can use this forum as a medium to brain storm ideas to improve the forum as a whole not just this one. And maybe through that discussion this forum will in turn get a boost in activity.

tbh I miss 2008 sorta as far as this forum is concerned. It was really active back then, new threads were made, new discussions, etc, not like 2010's terrible revival but really, 2008 was legitimate activity. Only hope for this forum is getting that sorta dynamic back tbh, but I think it's too far away from that when the most personal thing discussed here is schooling, why not joke around and have fun, really appreciate that you have this forum or something?

You make your own activity. Anyway, when someone makes this thread, activity blossoms for a day or so, then goes back to normal.​

So lets make a goal to post in these forums more often. We should have some discussions or something.

We donated money to help the community out, so lets donate a little time in here to make it better for us.

Maybe we could start some kind of forumwide competition... though only supporters know of it and participate. Like, a long list of things to do to get an emblem 8D Like,

- starting a thread in Other Chat that gets a certain number of replies (maybe not 100, since, well) and ISN'T about politics, global warming, sexual orientation or religion. Eh.
- finishing a challenge in the Challenges forum.
- greeting two newbies in NU/W IN A GOOD WAY each day for a whole week.
- posting actively in 10 different pokémon trivia threads for three days...

and such crazy things to overall lift activity or bring people to different corners of the forum. The one to complete the list first gets a certain emblem and the ones who complete the list at all get an emblem. And the ones who almost complete the list can get an emblem too. Yay emblems.

... Uh. I don't care too much about emblems actually and I don't know if you do either, so maybe it wasn't a good idea.... but still... something that only we VIP people know about but that affects the rest of the forum as well. Some kind of movement so people will almost start to think "what are the supporters doing all of a sudden?" would be fun :3

A supporter challenge thread?
Interesting idea, I will look into it when I get back from the gym a little later on tonight and see what I can draw up.

However, I am pretty sure that if I dedicate time to making these challenges, it will die out after a week and end up being a waste. But alas, I have time to waste.​

I like the song idea, but instead of 169 days why not 13 instead? its the square root of 169.

We could do a different challenge ever 13 days. Say for the next 13 days you must post every day in DCC or something like that. People who post consecutively for 169 days could then be awarded an emblem the 169 emblem?

*sigh* I tried suggesting much of the same ideas when this very section was founded, and I DID manage to found the CS DCC, but that's all that really took off.

I think this place might have some more activity if we installed some subforums in here for different kinds of threads. Kind of like a mini OC or something like that. Maybe even a Mini OT complete with a TCTI. And at this point I don't believe staff should shoot it down. I've suggested it before and I'm suggesting it again, this section NEEDS to be MORE DIVERSE. Like the main of PC...it could use a few sections. We should offer a bit more behind the paywall in my opinion, in this section of course. Perhaps even allow some relaxation of rules found elsewhere on the forum. For example: "CSOT has no 4/25 rule" or the CS Other Clubs doesn't have moderation of new clubs (Original Other Club rules still apply), ect...

Fabio is right. You want more activity, then well, be more active. Take a leadership role and get some other supporters to come on down and post.

I like the ideas of events and stuff, but like this forum has the flaw that simply it is completely open for any kind of thread (obviously within rules) but not everyone can see it. Now, if I was going to make a thread, like a discussion thread, or some like voting poll type thread, why would I post it here when it will receive more activity and benefit the community better if it is posted where everybody can access it...

I'm not saying this subforum is redundant, but there's not a whole lot of reason as to why it should be overflowing with activity... Supporters aren't like staff in that they have a whole realm of different topics that need discussing and things they can decide on to benefit the forum. If anything will work, it is trying to find some sort of niche for supporters that they can take part in that the rest of the community doesn't apply as easily...

Then again, I'm all for some fun and events and stuff going on to spruce it up, but you can't really expect constant, high activities in this forum.

Having mini sub-sections would be pointless and over complicated for a forum that hardly gets any traffic and that alone wouldn't increase traffic at all. I think I would be put off by the idea off sub-sections anyway.
I think if you have these little OT threads in here, they will die horribly, since there are better versions in the main forum where more activity and banter is.

I am still working on something but it will take a while. So get discussiong going on different topics in here and if you actually want it to be active and not moaning for moanings sake, then do something!​

It seems all we do in the supporter forum is talk about how inactive the supporter forum is! :P but at least that's something, right?

I think the problem, as I've said before, is there's not much for supporters to exclusively discuss that we can't discuss with the wider community. And honestly, I like it that way. The supporter forum is a cool idea, but I know I don't like how we aren't allowed to know what's going on in the staff forums (which I do understand the reason for yet still annoys me to no end when something comes up in general conversation that I'm not allowed to know about), and I wouldn't want to make someone else feel that way about the supporter forums (particularly if they're in no position to donate).

I didn't even see this post until just now, but I had a similar idea to this when I saw this thread from the index this morning. My idea was a more general one of using this forum to get supporters to post in the less active sections that are visible to everyone, not necessarily via challenges.

But in all seriousness, I like Igiko's idea, and what I said earlier. Bring your talents here. Livestream, a battle on PO, Graphics and Photography, whatever it may be. Just post around and get active.
