What is it with all these actors in recent memory doing sequels to their signature roles at such an old age in life? Give them an A for effort, but...meh.

Growing up, I totally loved Sylvester Stallone's movies, especially the Rocky and Rambo franchises. But years ago, I got more into horror movies, but I still had a huge fondness for guys like him in the action department, and I would still want to see his newest films whenever he appeared in them. But his past 20 years in movies have been a far cry from his glory days, with the exception of his reprisal of Rocky Balboa in Creed for which he got a Golden Globe (at long freaking last). To be honest, it went a bit downhill for him with all that crap he did back in the mid 90's. The same with Arnold Schwarzenegger as well. Comedy is a mixed bag for them, and they should have stuck to action films.

Like I said, you like to support somebody as a fan, because you have a fondness for their work. As you should. If you love an actor or actress from your childhood, he or she stays with you in life as great memories.

    As to my point...

I didn't really like the fourth Rambo much. As a kid, I would have literally begged for it to be made. But then Richard Crenna died in 2003, which sucked. By the time Sly finally made it, I was surprised it got made at all after he got busted in Australia for carrying growth hormones. Richard Crenna played his commander 'Trautman' in all the 80's films, and I don't know about anybody else, but he arguably was what made the first three films so great, next to Sly himself.

To be honest, Rambo (IV) is just a bloody, stupid adventure film, with the John Rambo character in it. Nothing more. Just calling it "Rambo" as well felt a bit odd, but I think Sly assumed it would be the last one so he gave it a similar title to Rocky Balboa. The ending was kind of nice, where he walks up the dirt trail to see his father. But the rest of the movie was just gory nonsense, and it's easy to forget there is a Rambo IV at times.

Rocky Balboa, well...I don't know what to say. I saw all the new trailers about it and stuff, and it seemed the acting was sort of "wooden" as they say. The trailers had all this philosophy being spouted and I think the hammy acting hurt it a lot. Tools in the basement? Ha-ha. Plus, he was 60 when he brought his famous character out of retirement, but he needed to make the fans feel the story had a good ending, I suppose.

In Rocky V (the so-called black sheep of the saga) there was a major continuity error where his son who was like 5 in the previous film (set weeks earlier) was now like 10 or 11 being picked on by bullies in the schoolyard, and he gets a girlfriend after getting tough. Uh!

Creed was...terrible. It was like a semi-remake, only inferior. I always knew Hollywood would do a spin off eventually where Sly was just in it to sell tickets. Heck, I thought of it years ago, too. Hollywood are just tossers who read my mind. They will milk and milk films until the end of time itself.

OK. There are other actors like Harrison Ford who did Han Solo again, but Sly is a good example. I think he should not be in so many action films now, being aged 70 and all. Agreed?

I actually thought Rambo 3 was the worst of the bunch, with Rambo 4 feeling like a love letter to John Rambo as a character and our chance to say goodbye to him in a less blatant piece of pro Mujaheddin propaganda.

I've never really rated him much at all as an actor.

Someone else who should of stopped a long, long time ago is Adam Sandler.
And George Clooney. Guy just acts as himself in every single movie he's in. He doesn't even attempt a Batman voice. Guys a joke.
