Her battle style is extremely reckless and risky for a League Member, but still somewhat cooridinated as to actually try to win rather than shouting out moves. Mareep was her 'starter' and closest Pokemon.

But then he saw a legendary electric pokemon appeard there. A blue pokemon with angry yellow eyes. It was Thundurus. It attacked Team Plasma and saved Elestar. It's thunder shock stricked Elestar's forhead and he got a star mark on his forhead. From then he got a strong connection with all the electric pokemon. And when he battles this star mark starts shining.

I was just having her be someone that caught electeic mons and maybe something about a power plant but idk if i should do that, the elite four part is that she was champion in another region for a short time but either got pushed out/defeated or left and moved and asked the e4 member that left to battle so she could join the e4 in hoenn. Alyssa is a rather short, petite girl often mistaken for an age younger than she actually is (which is 31). She has a bit of a hunch and isn't particularly physically fit, preferring to spend most of her time training her Pokemon rather than herself. Her hair is long and jet black, and she sports bangs that reach almost to her eyes. She also wears a pair of yellow horn-rimmed glasses, and her complexion is rather tan since she enjoys spending most of her time outside. Her attire is simple and has a gold/black palette; she wears a gold skirt coupled with a black, long-sleeved shirt that has the design of a sun on its front.

Sandgem Town is most well-known for its beautiful beach, but unlike the other children who spent most of their time playing in the ocean, Alyssa spent her summer afternoons sitting at the border between the town and Route 202. There she observed the wild Pokemon in the tall grass; their movements and their behavior simply entranced the young girl. She could spend hours just watching them, making mental notes on the way they acted and interacted. In particular, the Electric Pokemon Shinx caught her fancy. She found it rather beautiful, and had heard about the incredible all-seeing power of its final evolution Luxray.

A few years went by, and eventually an internship opportunity opened up at the local Pokemon lab. Alyssa eagerly snatched up the position, proving her skills as a potential Pokemon researcher in a field test. During that test of her skills, she was able to successfully befriend and catch her very own Shinx. Over the years she spent as an intern at Professor Rowan's Pokemon lab, Alyssa learned much more about Pokemon biology and ecology. Eventually, though, that wasn't enough for her anymore. Alyssa began wanting to apply the knowledge she had learned -- in her very own Pokemon quest.

And so she resigned from her position as an intern and set off to start her own Pokemon journey with her Shinx. However, it was not as easy as she had thought. She had all of the knowledge she needed to become an excellent trainer, but sadly, applying that knowledge to battling was easier said than done. She had all of the information she needed, but battling also required quick reflexes and thinking, which she wasn't quite as good at. It was then, however, that she first encountered Bertha.

The two met by total coincidence one sunny afternoon in Jubilife City, and the Elite Four member Bertha saw potential in the young trainer. She offered to coach Alyssa in battling technique and theory. Over the course of many months, Alyssa's skills improved, as she gained the skills to put her knowledge to good use. The training was harsh, especially since Bertha was a Ground-type specialist, which totally demolished Alyssa's small Shinx. The final test, though, was even harsher -- she was to take on the Oreburgh City Gym Leader, Roark, using only her Shinx and one other Electric-type Pokemon.

"Use those excellent powers of observation you have," Bertha said, "and the type disadvantage won't matter one bit."

And so, Alyssa did as she was told. She won, though just barely, and received her first badge. This was the true beginning of her Pokemon journey.

Alyssa went on to defeat all of the gyms. Despite the disadvantage it gave her, she decided only to use Electric-type Pokemon. In part it was because she was most proficient with them, but it was also an effort to prove to herself that she could win through her powers of observation and strategic planning alone, instead of relying on type advantages. Eventually, she beat Volkner, a rather bored leader of her own typing, and progressed to the Elite Four. It was here that Bertha revealed that she had groomed Alyssa to be her successor as an Elite Four member someday.

That day was far off, however, as Alyssa was once again beaten by Bertha. The Ground Master decided that Alyssa was not ready to be her successor quite yet, but had a plan to increase her strength so that she one day might be. The bored gym leader, Volkner, would soon retire from his position as Sunyshore Gym Leader -- being a member of the Elite Four, Bertha was able to arrange it so that Alyssa would be his successor. And so, Alyssa became the Electric leader of the Sunyshore Gym.

There, she trained, fighting challenger after challenger and honing her skills. During the years she spent as a gym leader, she met people of all kinds and saw many different battling styles -- some kinder than others. She began to take notice of the people who truly cared about their Pokemon, and could tell them apart from those who didn't with a single glance. It got to the point where she didn't even need to speak to them -- one look was enough to, as she put it, "gaze through them and into their heart." This almost supernatural ability was rumored to be a result of her extremely strong connection to her Luxray, a Pokemon which can see through almost anything.

Eventually, her prowess as a gym leader grew so great that she was too big a challenge for most young trainers. This was when Bertha returned to challenge Alyssa one last time. She knew that her protege was ready, and indeed, when Alyssa's powers of observation trumped even the Ground Master's, along with her type advantage, Bertha finally declared her retirement then and there in the arena.

And thus, Alyssa was promoted as Bertha's replacement in the Sinnoh Elite Four.

Edit: Alrighty, all done with this. Again, I went *way* overboard with the description. Guess I was just having fun writing it, haha. The tl;dr version is that she was an apprentice to Bertha, became the gym leader of Sunyshore after Volkner retired, and then eventually replaced her teacher Bertha in the Elite Four after her retirement. She has incredible powers of observation which allow her to predict and counter opponents' moves, and also developed a Luxray-like ability to "see through people and into their hearts", allowing her to determine whether a trainer truly cares about their Pokemon, is taking them for granted, or simply sees them as tools. It's rumored that she developed this ability as a result of her strong bond with her Luxray, who she can always be seen with.

That day was far off, however, as Alyssa was once again beaten by Bertha. The Ground Master decided that Alyssa was not ready to be her successor quite yet, but had a plan to increase her strength so that she one day might be. The bored gym leader, Volkner, would soon retire from his position as Sunyshore Gym Leader -- being a member of the Elite Four, Bertha was able to arrange it so that Alyssa would be his successor. And so, Alyssa became the Electric leader of the Sunyshore Gym.

There, she trained, fighting challenger after challenger and honing her skills. During the years she spent as a gym leader, she met people of all kinds and saw many different battling styles -- some kinder than others. She began to take notice of the people who truly cared about their Pokemon, and could tell them apart from those who didn't with a single glance. It got to the point where she didn't even need to speak to them -- one look was enough to, as she put it, "gaze through them and into their heart." This almost supernatural ability was rumored to be a result of her extremely strong connection to her Luxray, a Pokemon which can see through almost anything.

Eventually, her prowess as a gym leader grew so great that she was too big a challenge for most young trainers. This was when Bertha returned to challenge Alyssa one last time. She knew that her protege was ready, and indeed, when Alyssa's powers of observation trumped even the Ground Master's, along with her type advantage, Bertha finally declared her retirement then and there in the arena.

And thus, Alyssa was promoted as Bertha's replacement in the Sinnoh Elite Four.

So this isn't finished yet, mostly because I went *waaay* overboard with the description, lol. Bad habit, my apologies. You don't have to read that whole page if you don't want to, the tl;dr version is that she's Bertha's apprentice and eventually replaced her in the Sinnoh Elite Four. She also has a Luxray-like power to see through other people and into their hearts. I'll finish this up with her physical description and team when I have time!

I think all seeing Alyssa should win the prize for having the best life ever.

You can think you can easily defeat Elestar for first time. But later he'll train a lot and become stronger than you. ;-P

Volkner didn't really stand out to me. I get why a lot of people liked him but I zoned out in Sinnoh and Volkner, along with the others just didn't have much of a compelling story. :(
