Hey there, I know I don't have any power here on Pokecommunity or Smogon, hell, I don't even go on Smogon, but I am here to try something.

So, if you are into the competitive scene, (Mainly XY OU) you should know that recently Aegislash was banned from OU, and put to Ubers. This mad me VERY angry, as for the reasoning was silly. His typing was good, and there weren't many counters to this.

Now, that is ridiculous. Aegislash can EASILY be countered by many threats in OU, and the Aegislash set I'll be comparing is the most used set that I have encountered (Aegislash Lv.100 252 Attack 252 Speed 4 SpD Moves: Autotomize, Sacred Sword, Shadow Sneak, Iron Head Nature: Jolly/Adamant) here's a few counters that I found.

Greninja, Protean+Dark Pulse=Stab Boosted Super Effective Dark Pulse, (Either 1-2 hit KO) Gliscor, Knock Off=Weakness Policy gone, (Most Gliscor's run EQ, so it should also kill it) BOTH Mega Charizards X, Dragon Dance+Flare Blitz+Stab=OHKO Y, Flamethrower+Sun Boost+Stab= OHKO.

Right there, four of the most used OU Pokemon counter Aegislash. Also, Aegislash can easily be countered in Ubers, by Darkrai (Dark Void), Kyogre (Water Spout+Rain), and many more.

What tier should it be lowered to? Well, during some thinking, it should remain OU, and it would be perfect there. It can be countered, and it can counter its weakness. Again, like most Pokemon in OU.

If you want to get Aegislash un-banned and put back into OU. However, I haven't made enough post's to put a link, so the link will be in my info. Thanks for reading, and try to support me.

Lol no. That may be the most used set that you have encountered but more commonly kings shield, sacred sword, swords dance, and shadow sneak is run. The turn you take to switch is used to set up and depending on the ev spread a second swords dance will be used to set up then boom shadow sneak insta kill. 4 counters isnt enough to justify not banning.

For example take Mega Charizard. All you need to counter it is a Pokemon that learns stone edge and can survive one sunny day fire blast. Thats alot of counters but Charizard can sweep teams if there isnt one. Thats balanced. Super strong but with a huge weakness. Even a scarfed Mamoswine can K.O Charizard with an Icicle Crash.

This is why swift swim was banned. Very strong and fun to use but unless you are running a weather team there are very few counters to it.

Also Gliscor usually runs a Toxic/PoisonHeal Stall set so you wouldnt have knock off and Greninja isnt that common. Everyone would have to use it in order for it to be a realistic check.

Who cares about Smogon? I can use my Aegislash everytime I want in my game...

I would move this into Battling and Team Building since it fits much better in there, but there's already a somewhat active thread about Aegislash and its ban right here, so I'm gonna lock this instead. If you want to post your thoughts about Aegislash's ban, you can do it in there.

    Locks.
