5th Gen Alders old partner

I always thought it was a small pokemon. When I think of partner, I think of how the starters follow you in HGSS and pikachu in pokemon Yellow. I think it might have been a Pikachu or a Minccino or something. But then again, I could be totally wrong.

MiltankRancher's opinion is really interesting, I hadn't thought to that. Because we don't know a lot of things about Keldeo yet, and will get the answers in Pokémon Gray (or in a movie?). At the beginning I was sure that the Pokémon wasn't a legendary, I hardly imagine Alder wandering with a Kyuurem or a Tornadus by his side... But Keldeo could do. And as we don't know a lot about it, we can guess that an event happened to it, and Alder thinks it's dead but actually it's not or something like that .

Yeah I'm a supporter of the Volcarona theory. The reason why this Volcarona is the strongest in his team is probably because it was the child of the original Volcarona that passed away, and as a result, Alder would've sworn to dedicate as much time as it could to this Volcarona! Totally logical.
