After a long absence, to counter the changes in Plat, we must go back to the basics was my thought pattern.
The Team's Aim: To provide fast, quick action against many teams in the fast paced Platinum Metagame
The Team Consists of:
The Team:
Absol @ Focus Sash
Ability: Super Luck
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance - When coupled with Focus Sash, if I have no fear of being taunted, being taken down by a priority move or there isnt any Sandstorm or Hail in play, I'll Swords Dance to boost Absol's powerful STAB'd Sucker Punch.
- Taunt - After playing around with Absol, it seems to be viewed as Set Up Fodder, so Taunting takes down anything which could use Protect or Sub, such as Ninjask, Yanmega, or to an extreme Breloom.
- Sucker Punch - Absol's STABBED move, with priority and sometimes boosted by Swords Dance, it allows Absol to severly dent anything offensive, and works well coupled with Taunt
- Superpower - Absol gets badly walled by Ttar and any Rock / Steel type Pokemon, so Superpower provides my answer to them.If it resists Sucker Punch, I'll either switch out or Superpower them.
Absol acts as my counter lead, and sometimes is switched away and used as an effective sweeper late game, this thing used to be big, and I was amazed by how effective it is.
Also comes in Pink ^^
---
Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/6 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Zen Headbutt - Jirachi gets a very handy Flinch Rate with Serene Grace, so having a STABBED move with a 60% chance to flinch the foe is something to enjoy, the Scarf allows Jirachi to outspeed the foe.
- U-turn - Whenever I predict a Magnazone incoming, I use U-Turn. It allows me to escape from anything I fear, and when the opponent sends in a counter, Jirachi switches away from it and allows me to counter it.
- Iron Head - Jirachi gets a very handy Flinch Rate with Serene Grace, so having a STABBED move with a 60% chance to flinch the foe is something to enjoy, the Scarf allows Jirachi to outspeed the foe. The same as Zen Headbutt, just allows it to hit what resists Zen Headbutt.
- Stealth Rock - A Staple on every team, I sometimes switch into Jirachi just to get the rocks up, then switch away.
Jirachi is my annoyer, and it allows me to break down walls such as Blissy with its hight flinch rates, and more often than not it saves me in battles. I am, however open to replacing Jirachi.

Azelf @ Choice Band
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk/6 Def/252 Spd
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Zen Headbutt - Handy STAB for a physical Azelf, I always got laughed at for using Azelf with physical moves, but it gets me the surprise and that can lead to me making a strong advantage in a battle.
- Ice Punch - Just a handy thing to wave off flyers and dragons which feel up to switching into me.
- Fire Punch - Used against steels which could stop my explosion, Fire Punch dents them.
- Explosion - The best move ever made, CB Explosion almost OHKO's every Pokemon without amazing Defense Stats
There isnt much to say about Azelf, I damage what I can, then switch in later and explode.
---
Celebi @ Choice Specs
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Grass Knot - Lets be honest, who expects CS Celebi? Grass Knot is STAB and boosted by Specs, becomes lethal.
- Psychic - Secondary STAB, OHKO's Dark Pokemon who are in the mood for a Super Effective hit against Celebi, and can prove rather powerful anyway.
- Hidden Power [Ice] - Celebi needs an answer to Salamance, and it comes in the form of HP Ice.
- Earth Power - With this move, I can safely laugh at Heatrans and Infernapes switching into Celebi.
Celebi can prove an effective Sweeper, and it's novelty can get the upper hand during a battle. Grass Knot is an amazing move when boosted by Specs.
---
Zapdos @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt - THE best answer to DD Gyarados, when boosted by a scarf, I can switch on on Gyarados, it Dragon Dances, and then it expects to outspeed and KO with Stone Edge, it fails and dies to Thunderbolt.
- Hidden Power [Ice] - My next DD move, DD Salamance cant outspeed after one DD, so I switch this into it, and I often KO with Hidden Power. Also checks Latias.
- Heat Wave - This is needed to answer to Scizor.
- U-Turn - When I suspect they'll switch in a counter, I U-Turn away from it and switch to a counter of my own.
Zapdos is amazing, end of. Its bulky enough to take a few hits, can deal with Dragons and Gyrados easily and dents most Pokemon enough anyway.
---
Lol Broken *Latias* @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/6 SDef
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor - Staring my only nickname, I felt Latias was so broken I needed to use it. Specs Draco Meteor coming from a high STABBED attack is lethal to all which dont resist it, and even does around 35-40% to Blissy.
- Grass Knot - For some weird reason, Swampert seems to enjoy switching in on Latias, so Grass Knot takes care of it.
- Surf - A nice move, Surf has a good base power and allows me to check resists such as Heatran.
- Ice Beam - Other dragons also like switching into Latias, Ice Beam also helps me to take out other Latias.
Latias is so broken it had to be used, it dents half the metagame and is bulky enough to= stick around a while.
Theres the team, comment and rate ahead
