Simply question, do you believe in aliens? Personally I think that in the infinite space it is impossible for one tiny, insignificant little rock to be the only place in the universe where life has ever, or will ever appear.
    What do you think?

Yes, there has to be something out their. Some of my family members have witnessed UFOs and have claimed to see strange things out in the sky.

Yes I believe there are aliens.

A few years ago I used to think that there were aliens who looked at me in the night sometimes, but it turned out I was having a thing called sleep paralysis which makes me see hallucinations just after waking up if I am sleeping in a certain position. It was very scary but it doesn't happen any more because I found out that it only happens if I am laying on my back so now I always lay on my belly. You see?

I'd be scared if I had that problem.

I wonder if we'll ever find pure actual evidence of other life forms. And by pure I mean enough to make everyone believe that theirs other life forms living outside of Earth.

    ^^This.

Also the narcissism involved in believing that your species is the only one capable of intelligence.

Oh yeah I've heard of that. I never knew it was induced by sleeping a certain way though. Apparently they can be incredibly realistic and usually quite terrifying, I've never experienced it though.

I'm sure we will one day. Even if we don't discover them by them coming to earth or us discovering them with a space probe, I'm sure once Humanity begins to expand beyond earth then eventually we will find life. Whether it is micro-bacteria like or a space-faring, highly advanced civilisation is another question all together.

i believe they exist somewhere out there
maybe too far off for us to discover anytime soon, but i'm pretty sure there is
    space is too big for us to be the only ones o;

I think, not sure though, that there scientist out their that think the only life we ever find will be micro organisims.

    Anyway...

One thing I think though is what if when we do find life we don't even really recongnize it? What if whatever we find is just so strange that our best scientist can't even tell it's alive on their own? Okay think about this. What if one day a group of scientists are investigating what seems to be an uninhabited planet and all of a sudden their is a rock slide in a location that was deemed too unstable to investigate and was left alone. What if they had investigated that area and discovered that the rock slide was infact a stamped of rock-like creatures? We have no idea what might be out their. So yes, I do think their is life out their.

Well as for other life yes I believe that. The little green aliens with big black eyes not so much. They still scare me to death though.

    I am not sure.

The universe is such a large and unlimited place, that surely they must be some form of life there, even if it is microscopic bactericide.

Im sure that there are other micro-organisms are out there and even common. When we do find these it will be one of the most significant times in our history, when we realize that we arent alone.

This will pale in comparison to find intelegent life, that we will hopefully be able to converse with. If this ever occurs, our knowladge would grow exponentaly as we learn about each other.

Although, depending on who finds who, it could be problamatic for us. It is human nature, and i belive to be every inteligent beings nature, war and conflict advance civilization fastest. Look at how far planes came from the begining of WWI to the end of WWII, or how the cold war brought us to space. IMO any advanced civilization would be a violent civilzation. Ive never seen the hippies planning a space mission, but we seem to think, or mabye just hope, that this is how other civilzations will be. No advanced civilization would come in peace. only to conquer.

There're other civilizations, but they can't travel through the space as if it was piece of cake and surely they can't make it here. They must be wondering if there's life out there, perhaps?

I believe that there must be other life out there, advanced or primitive. The one thing I wonder most is that if an advanced civilization exists, what kind of religions, if any, will they hold? Since they haven't been influenced by ours, what would they be like? Would they be polytheistic? Sacrificial? Something else? Hmmmm...

(I apologize if this causes any problems. ^__^)

Yeah, I do believe that alien life can exist. But yeah, I don't think I'm gonna think about them and tire my tiny little brain. In short, I do believe but don't care about them, tbh.

I believe that aliens exist, but I don't believe that they've been here. Unless they are Teasers.

    Ford Prefect said:
They find some isolated spot with very few people around, then land right by some poor unsuspecting soul, who no-one's going to believe, and then strut up and down in front of 'em wearing silly antannae on their head and making beep-beep noises.

I figure that there has to be some form of life somewhere in the universe... but as others have said, it would most likely be so different from our own and so far away that the chances of us being able to contact them would be minimal.
If you look at how our capability for life developed, it was a series of very unlikely processes... given enough time they would have happened no matter what, but for such a relatively young planet, the fact we have had life for so long is amazing, so there may be other planets who are just reaching the first stages of life now. I don't believe there could be many that are much further on than us though - it takes so long for life to develop and evolve into a conscious being and stuff.

We watched that in school, and one thing that struck me is that they both agree there's life, it's just as to whether it's conscious and whether we'll ever reach it or not~

I think we haven't found life because we're looking for it under Earth's standards. Obviously, if life developed on another planet, it won't be under Earth's standards. It'll be under that planet's standards. That, I think, will make it really hard for us to find life if it doesn't walk up to us with a ray gun or something.

I think they have been here for a long time already. I don't believe they have, but I do think they have.

I'm not even sure why. I just have a hunch.

I am quite fascinated with alien life, I often speculate what it may look like. I certainly don't think we are alone in the universe, not just as life forms but as self-aware beings.

I agree with what many here say. If we saw alien life, depending on the conditions it has evolved under, we might look straight past it without even noticing. Why says it must be organic? Who says it must be carbon-based? Who says it needs to be built up of physical matter, or even be visible to our visual spectrum? Who says it is even confined to just this dimension, or has to have originated in this dimension? There are so many possibilities. Many, many worlds that may have their own unique way for life to live.

I don't believe there could be many that are much further on than us though - it takes so long for life to develop and evolve into a conscious being and stuff.

Consider though there may be some worlds and stars that are much, much older than this one. Some planets could have already been inhabited for billions of years when Earth was just spawning the first self-replicating molecules.

I'm pretty sure it's (somehow) been mathematically proven that there has to be life out there in the universe.

Intelligent life, I'm not so sure on... but it probably does exist.
