Within platinum we were given an abundance of new features, new fixes and new fun! One of these changes was the design of the main characters (Male and female protagonists and rival). That being, Lucas, Dawn and Barry. Out of the trio, which change did you like the most? The least? In general did you like the switch? Or perhaps you prefer their original fashion sense?

I quite liked the change in fashion sense in general to be honest. I felt that the characters were given a new edge. An edge of sophistication. Don't get me wrong, I also quite liked their original designs, but if I were given the choice between the two, (which I have been now), I'd 100% opt for their newer look.

How about YOU?

I like both of Lucas, Dawn and Barry's designs cos they have interesting clothes, I mean no other protagonist or rival wears a scarf.

I liked their Platinum designs especially. Dawn looks so cute in that dress-like coat and cute white scarf.

She looks so cute like that, no wonder she's one of my fave female protagonists in the games.

I honestly didn't notice a change in Barry. x)

But I liked the other two from the beginning. The scarf was a nice touch. And in Platinum, they just seemed to upgrade to warmer clothes lol, but I liked the designs all the same. :)

I haven't played either of Diamond/Pearl as of yet, so I never realised that the Platinum designs were any different from the previous games. After having a look at them now, I definitely prefer the redesigns of all of the characters. Lucas' redesign, however, really stood out as an improvement. While still kinda quirky in a stereotypically French sort of way, his design seemed more original and less like an Ash clone, as the D/P one did.

I personally liked their new designs :3. It showed to me, that the characters were sensible in their fashion choices: Other than most, just grabbing fancy dresses,short-tops and other pretty accessories in the snow.I found them unique other than the other protagonists, most of them are wearing short tops,high skirts, caps,ripped shorts...but here they are dressed fully in comfy winter clothing and cool scarves if I might add :D.Although these new designs were amazing,I still thought the original design was better. Perhaps its just I'm used to seeing the heroes dressed in clothes appropiate for summer.But to sum it up,I think I liked the new designs :3.

I honestly don't care about their clothing change. Yeah, I guess it's prettier than the original ones, but I don't see anything so special about it. Nice scarves, tho.

They gave just them warmer clothes because it was more colder in Platinum than in D/P but overall i liked the change.

It's an ok design. Certainly not the best, but a good step forward from RSE in that time.

I thought that the upgrade was nice, especially with the temperature drop in Sinnoh between games. What always bothered me though is that while Dawn's outfit change looks nice, it doesn't make much sense to go out in the cold- without pants. I know some of the in-game characters are dressed more for an interesting design than functionality, but that one thing will always stick out to me as strange.
