Hey there,

I originally just registered so I could download a ROM-hacking tool, but I'll probably make use of the forums too so thought I'd introduce myself..

Spoiler:

I'm primarily an artist and not particularly good with computers and only decided to try my hand at ROM-hacking yesterday so I'll no doubt have some n00b questions to ask later. So far its all seeming pretty easy so I've got a bit over-excited and started designing a perhaps-too-ambitious mod project, so I'm sure I'll end up getting stuck and needing some help at some point. I'll try to find answers before posting, but apologies in advance for any stupid qestions. Also, apologies for long-winded posts - I find it hard to write concisely.

So you know, I hope that you'll find the ROM hacks enjoyable! I played a few of them myself, still playin' away on Liquid Crystal! And yeah, if you need any help with any sort of ROM hack project, you can go over there to ask in the beginner's lounge, and someone can assist you!

I'd (predictably) spoke too soon when I said I was finding it easy. At that point I'd just changed some Pokemon sprites, changed the "GAME FREAK" text and played around with some basic script events, but already on day 2 I'm running into problems, haha. I like problem-solving, though.
And, yeah, I should check out some other people's hacks really. Never played one before.
