It's head is very unique, it would have to be the only Pokemon that has a pointy head, most alike a lizard I'd have to say. Considering that Charmander was a lizard, I have a reason to believe that Cyndaquil could have been a copy of a lizard.
 
Its not a pointy head. Its more of its snout is pointy. The head itself is actually round and smooth, with its nose pointed out in front somewhat. A lizard is a possiblity, but as Charmander's evo line was based off lizard like creatures, Cynda's evo line has no real resemblance to a lizard form.

Swampert and Blaziken currently outclass basically all the starters throughout the games. Their two type combination really helps them a lot. Typhlosion is disadvantaged against all the starters as its only single typed, just pure fire. And with that unfortunately, it doesnt gain extra attacks in its movepool to sustain itself like Blaziken or Charizard can as a dual-tpe Fire Pokemon.

Not only types, but also stats....
But yeah, typhlo is a prue fire type, I used it in a part of my special-fire sweeper instead of blaziken or charz, I used charizard as a physical sweeper instead of special (Because Charizard has high atk ^^)

It's close enough to be it's head. If you look closely, the nose is drawn so it looks as though it's the head. Other Pokemon like..Milotic and Feebas, they had an evolution line that was totally different, yet they were related. You can't guarantee that it's going to be the same for Cyndaquil's evolution line. Remember, Torchic, it is a chicken, yet it turns into a fighting Pokemon in it's final evolution. Cyndaquil could be perhaps like that.

That depends on how you look at it. Front on maybe, but side on? The nose part actually sticks out on an angle and is almost separate from the ehad.
xD, Torchic may have been a small chicken to start with, but it's still half chicken as Combusken. Only Blaziken has fully morphed into less non-chicken like form.
 
See, what'd I tell you? I'm right in a way, on the comparasin to Torchic's final evolution and Typhlosion.

Well yes. But the stepping stone Combusken was the main change. As Combusken was also part fighting, it gained fighting like qualities. But Quilava is just a pure fire type, therefore remaining without the extra qualities that could have been added if it had gained a type during evo.
 
So Quilava should have gained another evolution to change itself then..

Um.. well, actually none of the 2nd gen starters gained an extra type. Every other generation did though.

xD, we're discussing the similarities between starters. Read through our posts and you'll understand.

Well, if it involves risking my life, still it kind of depends...if your deepest fear is the dark, for example...you would, cause the dark isn't really a danger. If it was climbing the highest tree that ever existed, and you're scared of heights, then I'd get some help instead of doing it myself...8D

But, anyways, I would...actually...like, if I were to save a Swablu from a spider-like Pokemon or something? XD

...I claimed Typhlosion, Altaria and um, another D/P Pokemon. I think it was because Cyndaquil was already claimed before? Maybe someone unclaimed it.

Well, my deepest fear isnt actually that scary to most, so yeah I definetly would. xD, I hate heights and well random disgusting things but I would be willing to face them that one time.

It was Mukkuru~ I remember because I also have that claim xD. Cynda was put up as "Taken Up" but there were only two names so yeah.
