Yeah, I think Altaria can handle itself, but it really depends on who kidnaps Altaria...
 
Typhlosion would be a little bugger and come onto Altaria when it's kidnapped. So Altaria will save her own life and maybe have a few romantic moments with Typhlosion that wasn't intended. XD
 
What would Typhlosion do if Altaria was kidnapped?
I feel sorry for the person who is foolish enough to kidnap a Altaria who is friends with a Typlosion. ;) Typlosion would save Altaria and possibly use Fire Punch or Fire Blast on whoever kidnapped poor Altaria.

Anyway, new topic~ If you must make a wild Altaria/Typhlosion faint how do you do it, without it feeling any pain?

But I would call it and then pat it..and then have a heartfelt goodbye and then smash it with the bowling ball. Smash it good, then run away like a little kid. XD

I always feel really bad when I have to defeat an Altaria or Typlosion. :( But if I had to do it as painlessly as possible, I would use a Sing attack and then attack it quickly so it wouldn't feel much pain. Or I hope it wouldn't...

I have do deal with this problem all the time on Colosseum, and I still feel guilty every time :( The only thing I can think of is to either hit it as hard as possible so that it only has to endure one hit, or to make it go to sleep, then hit it.

Unless you count the rules from back in the old days of Pokemon, where the definition of 'knocked out' was simply unable to battle. Therefore, if you put it to sleep it was unable to battle or, for a more common term, knocked out. So going by old school rules, just put it sleep, problem solved :D
