    So, introductions here yeah?

I'm Meng Jiaxin, lover of all things Gyarados related ('tis a water dragon, yo!). My first game was Black, 2nd game White2 and my true love is the Kalos region of X. Playing to Catch 'em all!, have a liveDex (of sorts) stored in my PokeBank, absolutely hopeless at anything competitive. Oh yeah, and I'm a total Poke-Amie junkie.

Outside of Pokemon, I absolutely adore Ancient Chinese history stretching from Shang to Jin dynasty (main focus of Wu of 3 kingdoms fame, though). Also a big sports fanatic, my red teams (Bayern + Ferrari) for life.

Just a quick question for anyone who can help: how the hell do you play Pokemon on a game which language you don't understand? I accidentally bought the Jap version of HGSS and now I am going through it at a snail's pace (refering through the guidebook page by page)...~_~

Welcome. Im new too, just joined yesterday. My bet on playing a Jap game is looking up a walkthrough. Wont help with everything tho.

Hey, thanks! I am using the official guide right now but the going is slow, any fan-made walkthroughs to recommend?
    Welcome!

    Im A Newbie Tuu!

    Enjoy Yah Stay!

    :D
Welcome to you to! I'm liking it here so far~

Heyo there! and welcome to PC! really nice to meet you!

Gyarados is great, strong, cool looking and you can even get a shiny one at G/S/C, it doesn't get better than that! Chinese story is interesting, it's something that I still need to read about. Because, I'm a person who's really interested in history. Ferrari? that's amazing! really! I'm not a huge F1 fan, but I really love cars, and well, Ferrari is quite the brand. All Hail Porsche though.

I wish I could help you with your Japanese HG copy, but my best suggestion is to watch a walkthrough, if you see where do you need to go, Pokemon games are quite straight-forward. If you need help with anything else, feel free to ask me! I'm always open for questions, I wish you luck with everything, and I hope to see you often here, cheers and have fun! :)

I've loved Gyarados ever since I learnt that it was based on the carp in the Chinese myth (and I love Magikarp too, of course!). It is just so cool that a rather weak Pokemon becomes a monster through sheer determination.♥
Chinese history is great because there is just so much to delve into, but of course I also studied Egypt, France, Russia, India and my country Singapore. Which countries histories have you read about/are interested in?

Porsche is great as well, congrats on Le Mans! I support Nico Hulkenberg, so it was great to see him win with Porsche and beat the Audis for once. Of course, Mercedes is dominating F1 for now, but #ForzaFerrari anyway!

Yeah, I though of watching walkthroughs on Youtube before, but they always cut things out (like traveling/or grinding) and sometimes it is this simplest of stuff that gets really difficult whenever your don't understand the language. For example, every time my Pokemon levels up, I have to search the guide book to see what is the new move it wants to learn and if I show replace an old move with it.~_~

    However, I am down with the other games since they are all in standard English.{:3}

Oh boy.. if I got a Japanese game I'd play through it to the best of my ability (Pokemon games don't tend to be very difficult) but otherwise walkthroughs are best. HG/SS isn't hard at all and it's really fun so here's hoping you'll enjoy it anyway. x'D The leveling up/move thing is always a pain but I try to check out serebii in those instances, go to the gen IV/HGSS dex, and scroll down to whatever level my Pokemon leveled up to to see what move it's learning. Makes it so much easier.

Welcome welcome, Meng! Wishing you lots of luck with your game and hope you'll be around to discuss with us for a long while. 8]

Hey thanks for the advice. Will keep serebii on my tablet as I playthrough then!

I hope to stay here as well, so long forward to commenting and such. And do call me Jiaxin, Meng sounds a little strange where I come from. ;)
