So after I met the three legendary dogs in the Burnt tower, I went back to the starting town to talk to elm about Togepi. When I got to the first route you ever cross, I find Entei. I hit him once with a water gun, and then he flees. On my way back to the Burnt Tower, I encounter him, not once, but TWICE. (WITHOUT KNOWING WHERE HE IS.) Afterwords, i go to the next route to train my pokemon. Guess where he is. HE'S THERE TOO.

Now I know what you're thinking. LOL DIS NOOB PROBABLY CHECKED DA MAP AND HE'S A LIAR. I didn't even know you could check the map to see where they are. I FORGOT they even roamed around. So seeing a level 40 Entei with my level 30 Ferigator blew my mind.

    Kay, bye.

(but what are the chances of encountering him 4 times in 20 minutes without trying to?)

It's not that surprising. In my first playthrough I encountered Raikou on route 34 and then caught him with an Ultra Ball I threw at it at full HP. What would the chances of that be? =p

But well, let's say you have access to about 20 locations you can find it in (round number for simplicity); so each time you go in the grass of one of those places there's a 1/20 chance it's there (they tend to be 'common' provided they are actually there - likely to actually be encountered from my understanding). Then it depends how many different routes you went to in that time, simply. Also note that there's Entei and Raikou so that improves chances. (They also tend to move to adjacent routes as well when you change routes).

Still an unlikely event but given the game sold millions of copies it's nearly bound to be some people who had such a streak.
