4th Gen Am I the only one who thinks Darkrai is cheap?

    My brother got him through Hax, and he says he isn;t cheap. Sure, my Spongicolo (Ludicolo with Rain Dance, Mega Drain, Leech Seed and Leftovers) is cheap in his eyes, but the pokemon who locks you in sleep and does most of his damage while the opponent can do nothing is okay? That makes no sense to me...
     
    I dunno. Yesterday I finally battled the Member card event Darkrai in Platinum. He couldn't do very much at all to my Noctowl. My Noctowl has insomnia.
     
    It's boring. I got it, but it meant almost nothing to me. I normally dismiss Darkrai :\
     
    That's why you get a Sleep Talker or a useless Pokémon to take the sleep :P it's outsped by a few Pokémon but NP+Dark Pulse owns a lot of Psychic types.

    well if you are going to complain about pokemon that put pokemon to sleep to do damage you shouldnt just single darkrai out. gengar and other ghosts use hyponsis and dream eater as well.
    and if you want to get out of the sleep attacks wake your pokemon up and use an attack disable so they cant use it anymore.

    darkrai is amazing.
     
    I remember one of my old strategies involved Porygon-Z using Magic Coat on Darkrai, rendering it a dead weight, and if (90% of the time) the opponent is foolish enough to try and switch Darkrai out with their all mighty uber in order to attempt a sweep anyways, Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam spells "KO", taking out a third of their team. Of course, if the person is smart, they might instead blast Z with a painful Focus Punch...I have yet to face such a foe.
     
    I think ALL Legendaries are cheap.. *clings tightly to Ratticate
     
    Darkrai is cheap; full stop. It's easily countered, but that doesn't change the fact that it is still cheap. :D

    Hax in general is cheap; flinch, recovery, parafusion, sleep, etc, etc. It's all built to stop the opponent attacking and give an advantage to you. Very annoying, but generally very weak if you can break their hax. Inner Focus, Poison, Electric types, Insomnia say sup respectively.

    Sure all pokemon can be very strong, but he used a hack to get it at level 2 and raise it, making it much much stronger than the event Darkrai. It's much faster, stronger, and basically overkill in my eyes. He wants me to fight him when he has that? No way...
     
    So just tell him he's a stupid little fa**** and refuse to battle him!

    Darkrai isn't cheap. Sleep isn't it's only use.

    Also, he has crappy defenses. Any priority move off a choiced pokemon can take him out.

    For example, he's an Uber right? Infernape, which is OU, could take him out with a Specs Vacuum Wave, or stick a Scarf on and use Close Combat.

    Do you call Breloom cheap? It's main tactic is SporePunching.

    Spore: 100% accuracy.
    Dark Void: 95% accuracy.


    Therefore, by your reasoning about sleep, Breloom is cheaper than Darkrai.
     
    He's not though.

    If it doesn't put you to sleep, you send out something that doesn't resist it against Dark Pulse and see it survive. Only Blissey can do that.

    He has a plethora of options outside of sleep. It just so happens that nintendo made a backstory to him, so he's good at putting you to sleep and hurting you for it.
     
    I normally denounce the use of most legendaries in the first place, aside from some of the less powerful ones, but Darkrai can be kinda cheap. I personally relish fights with little kids spammin with hax amounts of darkrais because when it backfires the amount of lol becomes exponentially positive. Infernape doesn't enjoy being woken up.
     
    So what if darkrai is powerful, ALL UBERS ARE POWERFUL, its why they are called ubers

    Darkrai isn't powerful enough to break sleep clause. You cant pack your team with darkrai's because of species clause. If you don't like sleep then switch out the pokemon. Remember its ubers and choice scarf palkia can still OHKO darkrai with draco meteor.

    Watch this vid, using legends isn't better than having actual skill in battling
