2nd Gen american idol?! what the heck?

    ok, so right now im re-playing Gold for like the five thousandth time, and im on that route between Olivine and Cianwood cities. the wierd thing here, though is the names of the first three trainers on that route: Swimmer Simon, Swimmer(female) Paula, and then Swimmer Randall. now thats very close to the names of our favorite music critics and judges of American Idol, Simon, Paula and Randy. strange? yeah. coincidence? yeah, i know that, too.

    It's almost like the young couple on the boat on RS, they were called Hal and Lois (A reference to Malcolm in the middle), just that that last was intended.
     
    On GSC, there's a Birdkeeper named Peter, A Birdkeeper named Brian, and A fisher named Chris *only in Gold/Silver. In Crystal, He's called Tully* the three are coincidences to Family Guy.

    I guess there is only a certain amount of names in this world, and those names are kind of common
     
    What next? We're going to find a trainer named "Jeremy" that says sweetie a lot, sweeties? XD

    But anyway sweeties, what a HUGE coincidence. The game and debut of the show were a couple years apart.

    argh u beat me to it! that was one i spotted recently and i freaked out
     
    Not to mention that there's a Psychic on Route 39(?) in GSC named Norman.

    Note that Your dad in RSE is named Norman.

    I just tought it was a coincidence, until I read at Wikipedia that it was intended, but removed on Emerald (I don't know what's their name on emerald xD)

    Well, that should be just a coincidence, since names tend to be used again in Pokemon games so I don't think that's a coincidence :/ except if the Psychic has the same pokemon as the Norman on RSE
     
    Also I heard of GSC that has birdkeeper toby and Officer Keith.

    Put the birdkeeper's and the Officer's names together and that makes up country music star, Toby Keith, Now that's a coincidence.

    His name was Norman because it's close to "Normal" which is the type he uses. Same thing with "(Rox)ane" who collects rock types.
