Amiibo compatability

Nintendo are pushing this in a lot of their video games these days, and even games that you wouldn't expect to have Amiibo functionality, such as Code Name: STEAM and Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, are getting some form of compatability. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer saw the introduction of Amiibo cards, slightly cheaper alternatives to physical figurines.

So, do you think that Amiibo cards or special Amiibo will be made for Pokemon Sun and Moon? Will existing Amiibo be compatible with the games? What sort of features do you think they would unlock in the game? Is this something you would welcome, ignore, or cry foul over?

I think it's fairly obvious that the Smash Pokémon amiibos will have a functionality in Pokémon Sun and Moon. The question is what will they do. My guess is that they'll give you specialized Pokémon based on those exact Pokémon. For example, scanning a Pikachu amiibo will give you a Pikachu with its Smash moveset (Thunder, Quick Attack, Skull Bash, Volt Tackle), a held Light Ball item, and perfect IVs (either for its attack, SpA, and speed or all six stats).
