This being a rather childish community - given it's member base - having pink wouldn't be all that good since most boys hate that color and that may discourage them from asking their parents to donate for them. Goldenrod is a nice gender neutral color.

Blues and greens are something I've always thought supporters should stay away from, but that blue is a significant difference from steel blue.
 
I think though, if, IF, the colour was going to change, I think it would be better if it wasn't a blue. Make a difference for once.

Also, I don't like pink! XD​

From what Todd Nick suggested, I like the Goldenrod, the one under Goldenrod, the green just above the current Steel Blue or the second purple look nice. Or even the Pink.
Just a suggestion, maybe with the lighter colourr, such as the Pink and Goldenrod, maybe put some shadowing under the names, although I can't see it happening since shadows aren't compatible with IE.
 
I actually quite like the look of a steel coloured username (like Fabio's last post) but I do indeed like the sort of washed out green like such #5C8978.
 
Is this a serious consideration, or is it just an interesting topic for people to share opinions?

Well, it's a nice colour, but if we want to get a change to get away from the moderator's colour, we look more like the Super Mods with that colour than we do now the mods with this blue. I'm all for a colour change, but since we are changing and there are options, I'd prefer something that is different to the current staff colours.
