On the earlier pokemon games I would get pokemon to level 100. Usually it would be Butterfree. Back then she would reach at least 323 hit points, now I can barely get it past 270. Can someone give me some advice on how to raise the pokemon's stats, instead of using regular stat boosters such as hp-ups, carbos, ......etc. :nervous:

Erm? EV training? In FR/LG, the place with Dunsparce [forget exactly where] has Dunsparce which give HP EVs?

Well this goes in GB Strategies and movesets, so I'll send it over there.Yeah just use Carbos' and such.
    ~MOVES~
EDIT: I'll just keep it here :\

You should do EV training.I'm not much of an expert on it but serebii has some guides on it.

There might not be any natures that boost HP, but I got 2 of the same weedles, both at lvl.5 and 1 had 20, the other had 18. But it's HP stats may change as it goes to Lv.100. So just because you get a high level, LOADS OF HP, etc doesn't mean it's HP stats will be high at lvl.100 Yeah, HP ev's pretty much the only way you can do it, but it may not do the job all the way.

    SORRY if this is SPAM

EVs stand for experince values. Whenever you beat someone, you get EVs. Whenever you use a rare candy, you use no EVs. If ya level up, the EVs take effect and you gain more stats

EV stands for Effort Value. Whenever you battle a Pok?mon, regardless of its level, you gain some fixed effort values. These account for 63 stat points at L100. You say your Butterfree is short 53 points from the typical. This would imply that it only has ~40 effort points in its HP (every 4 effort points adds 1 to a stat at L100).
Unfortunately, to put it simple, effort values became capped in Advanced, so there's not much you can do short of training another Butterfree, and deciding where to place your effort points. There's a bunch of good guides on them, but I'm not sure about the rules here for outside linking.

^ Wat he said. Learn the basics of evs and that butterfly of yours will have decent hp

perhaps, back then, they didnt have EV's

Mwar, I don't think the EV system was introduced until R/S. The Pok?mon's IVs also have something to do with it [they're what determine their stats before EVs].

Mwar, If memory serves, the IV's, base stats and Nature will detirmine, it's overll stats

There were EVs in the original game, but they were different. They were 16-bit instead of 8 (RGBYGSC EVs went to 65535, RuSaFRLGEm EVs go to 255), the base stats of the enemy were added to your stack of EVs after each battle, and they were uncapped. They still accounted for 63 points at L100. There was one EV for both Specials. (No sp.def in RGBY) This is one of the reasons why trading to the original games is not possible.
