This is designed for Nuzlocking? O.o
First trainer has a Zigzagoon with Covet at Lv6. The area just before reaching the town has a trainer with a Marill with Rollout.
I wiped 6 times from nonsense before even being able to buy potions. There was no amount of skill or strategy I could have possibly done to not lose within the first 20-30 minutes of the game besides grind to be double the level of any trainer. Which considering you made rare candies to be $10 in the store tells me you knew that I guess?
I just can't see defeating any of these trainers without at least having potions. Even then unless you're 2-3 levels higher that that first Zigzagoon, that Covet is going to hit like a truck and do more than 1/2 your HP per hit making potions useless anyway.
I don't see a point in these extremely early difficult encounters. There's no point in restarting that early. If you wipe within the first 10-40 minutes, you essentially didn't even get started.
I'm an hour into playing and am going to keep playing to see if being able to actually buy potions helps with this, but I'm holding my breath. Oh wait, I got to the first town and Potions are still unavailable??? I don't understand how this is possible tbh.
Edit: I gave up 30 minutes later. The area right after the first town is blocked by a trainer with a level 11 pokemon that does 1/2 the health of all my level 10 pokemon with one attack. I'm not feeling 'challenged' because there's no 'strategies' I can do to win any of these fights. I am being out-numbered. I don't even have the moves to really utilize strategies yet. Each of my pokemon die after two attacks from anything. That's not a sustainable way to play a Nuzlocke.
