"Ancient Family Matter" Episode Discussion

The only things that I can remember this episode having are fossil and hole fetishes and a heart warming story. I think that Dan Green was in this episode as well so that's a plus I guess. Nothing else to say about this.

-Byron seemed immature xP
-*Flashback* Yay,that was sweet keeping that fossil^^
-"How could you call a person who digs holes that good bad?" Byron said something like that lol c=
-That Anorith Fossil was huge!I want one ;.;
-Poor Rampardos! It keeps falling down,*pouts* big hug xDD

This episode was sweet, can't wait for the epic battle!

I liked the episode it had a lot of action and it had the pokemon gold rival battle song which made it a lot better.

Actully it supposed to be the GSC or DPPt Trainer Battle. (Which both sound simular from the biggining tune)

But it was a good episode and battle between Ruork and Byron :shocked:except when Rampardos and Bastodos used Flamthrower, it look lackbuster and cheep from thre animators presective.:(

Oops, I thought this was a Johto episode o.O I didn't realise it was Byron's episode

- It *is* Dan Green! He's using a very gravelly Yami Yugi voice
- Wow, Dan Green drowns out everyone
- Wow, talking about how they hate their dad's
- TPCI are remixing a few of their dub themes, I'm sure. I'm sure there are extra instruments in places there weren't before
- I'm sure Chibi Roark sounds like Dawn

Music kept (8)

Rampardos comes out
DP Gym Battle
Team Rocket Sneaking Theme
GSC Trainer Battle (Remix)
Team Rocket Sinnoh Motto
GSC Trainer Battle
Pikachu using Thunderbolt to blast TR away
Right at the end

Yeah, it's the GSC Trainer Battle, they played two different versions of it in this episode

Guess Byron has No Indoor Voice. That's expected from Dan Green anyway. ;)

XD

This was an interesting episode. Byron: "Bye son! I'm just gonna leave you and your mother here alone! See you whenever! :D" I mean, the same thing pretty much happened with Brock, but... yeah. XD

Byron's voice was definitely a lot deeper than I expected, but he was still off the wall(in a good way!). It was nice to see Roark again after such a long time. The animation was better than last week's episode...

Music kept

So... Are the beginnings of those tracks just start up music? I mean, are they each just one whole piece, like Movie 10 DP Gym battle remix? Hope you understand what I'm talking about. XD

OMFG I AM DAN GREEN, LISTEN TO ME SCREAM BECAUSE I'M SOOO FACKING IMPORTANT, MANNNN!

-sums up the episode pretty well, I'd say.

oh, and
OMFG I'M DAN GREEN, WATCH ME ACT LIKE A JERK AND THEN SUDDENLY CARE ABOUT MY FAMILY FOR THE SAKE OF MAKING ME NOT LOOK LIKE A COMPLETE JERK. GITS AND SHIGGLES ABOUND.

I have to ask, is Dan Green part of some sort of meme or something? I can't tell if it's because everyone actually loves him or they're being sarcastic XD

I do understand what you mean ^^ I think the "start up" may be part of the same track because I can always tell from the "start up" theme which battle theme it'll be after XD I've noticed only the music that comes from the games have a start up theme attached to it, but not all of them do out of those. A few of them that I've noticed that do are the RSE Elite Four Battle theme, and Magma/Aqua battle theme and the GSC Rival Encounter theme. There are others, I think, but I can't remember them right now. But the RSE Elite Four battle theme is released on CD and it doesn't have the start up part with it, so perhaps they have set start up themes that they use with each other or they cut it off for the CD? I don't know

I finally watched the episode today on Youtube. I've got to say, the character build up with Byron and Rorak was really great. Even for a family fued, it did bring in some [/lol] moments that's for sure. I never knew how perfect Team Rocket dig their holes until a Gym Leader like Byron pointed it out too.

All in all, I liked this episode, and I'm looking forward for the battle coming up.

Ah... ok. Thanks! I was wondering because I couldn't figure out if the start up music was the same for each of the GCS battles in this episode. It was a little too quiet. XD

Hahah.

Apparently all of the Rock-based Gym Leaders have issues with their fathers. >_>

I missed the episode myself, but I do plan to hunt it down online and watch it tomorrow. xD I'll edit this after I do. Still, as far as Dan Green voicing Byron.. I can't picture him sounding like that at all. Well, okay.. I can, but it doesn't seem to fit. D: Regardless, I love that some of the old VA's still make some appearances occasionally.

A decent episode...but not brilliant. That kinda sums up the D/P anime though XD. My ELoT:

- Cue disgusting opening
- Roark used thundershock!
- No, Dawn, not a good idea. Hey, lets solve the argument with a violent battle!
- what a touching parting scene....NOT
- Wait, is Brock making a thinly veiled reference to the early episodes?
- Didn't Dawn scan Rampardos in Oreburgh?
- Since when does Iron Defense involve charging?
- Hooray for reusing falling animations!
- Rampardos got pwned.
- Hang on, Rampardos was lying on the ground unconscious just seconds ago.
- AIM FOR TEH HOLE!
- Baby Roark looks and sounds female...
- Foreshadowing for Dawn and Brock returning home?
- If we don't finally get a gym battle next episode...
