    Anohana The Flower We Saw That day

    About : Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day is an 11-episode 2011 Japanese anime television series produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai. The anime aired in Fuji TV's noitamina block between April and June 2011.
    Plot : A group of six childhood friends, including Chiriko "Tsuruko" Tsurumi, Atsumu "Yukiatsu" Matsuyuki, Naruko "Anaru" Anjou, Tetsudō "Poppo" Hisakawa and Jinta "Jintan" Yadomi, drift apart after one of them, Meiko "Menma" Honma , dies in an accident. Ten years after the incident, the leader of the group, Jinta Yadomi, has withdrawn from society and lives as a recluse. One summer day, the ghost of an older looking Menma appears before him and asks to have a wish granted, reasoning that she cannot pass on into the afterlife until it is fulfilled. Since Menma does not remember what her wish is, Jinta gathers his estranged friends together once again, believing that they are the key to resolving this problem. However, hidden feelings, internal conflicts, and lingering feelings of bitterness from Menma's parents result in complications for the group as they struggle to help not only Menma move on, but themselves as well.

    Now hey lets discuss about it ! Its a mini Anime. its a PG - 13 And above rated anime.

    And who doesn't remember this isn't a true fan :P

    Yea, if you did it, this thread would be unique =D
    English names sux :P

    English namae = sugoi-desu. u noe it, lulz

    Either way, I didn't see anything terrible in it. Sure, it was a bunch of teenagers solving their issues (that didn't seem like much to begin with) and there was quite a bit of melodrama involved but it managed to be a decent watch nevertheless. And I cried at the end for some reason so, well, yeah. I liked it. I remember me describing it as a "sincere, soothing and honest experience" a year ago or two. Maybe giving it a rewatch would probably unravel some more flaws but I'd rather let it stay as a "nice" memory in my head rather than tear it down while going through the show again with my "critic" glasses on. :v

    Still, I remember when the first episode almost made me think this'd be an anime with ecchi undertones. How wrong I ended up being, haha. Fun times.

    I woke up with this series's theme song in my head a few days ago, and I haven't even watched any of it since it aired in 2011. I really liked this series, though. Cried at the end like I heard almost everyone else did. It was really cute. Kinda bittersweet the entire way through. ;;

    to me, AnoHana was a great experience - yes, i cried at the end too. i think for me it struck a chord as i watched it not long after it aired, near the end of 2011, when i'd just graduated from high school and my precious friend group was split up as we all left for different universities
    likely if i'd watch it again now i wouldn't be quite as charmed, due to aforementioned critic glasses, but still. AnoHana was also the reason i got to know what is now one of my favourite bands - Galileo Galilei (whose 'Aoi Shiori' was the OP song). so yeah, fond memories c:

    A lovely and recommendable series, for sure.

    I think they are doing a recap movie soon? Or did I get it wrong?

    Absolutely disgusting. Guess I won't be watching then. Thought it would have been about them stopping being massive ******s and the mc nailing the ginger.

    expecting the mc to nail the ginger in a sequel to the kind of show anohana was? your expectations, laptrap. sometimes they're so out there.

    either way, on another note, I'm not watching the movie either. series was a good watch personally but I don't really think rewatching the same thing (just from menma's pov) will be worth all the trouble I'd have to go through to download it. :p
