    Hello! I've been working on this team for a while, and I find it usually works ok, but I'd like to see if anyone has any thoughts on how to improve. I made this team for doubles metagame.

    Adamant metagross
    Ability: clear body/tough claws
    meteor mash
    zen headbutt
    ice punch
    earthquake
    @metagrossite
    252ATK/252SPD/4DEF

    Adamant Talonflame
    Ability: Gale Wings
    Tailwind
    Brave Bird
    Protect
    Will-o-wisp
    @Life Orb
    252HP/252ATK/4SPDEF

    Metagross and Talonflame form the core of my team. Talonflame will usually clear any fast threat or anything that threatens Metagross, with Metagross cleaning up anything slow. I didn't put any EVs into Talonflame's speed because Gale wings pretty much always makes it go first.

    Jolteon
    Ability: Volt absorb
    Discharge
    Signal Beam
    Thunder
    Thunderbolt
    @Zap Plate
    252SPATK/252SPD/4DEF

    Jolteon usually comes into play if metagross is taken out and is good at countering Water- and flying-types, which are usually major threats for metagross and talonflame.

    Staraptor
    Ability: Reckless
    Brave Bird
    Final Gambit
    Close Combat
    U-turn
    @Choice Band
    252SPD/252ATK/4DEF

    Staraptor is usually pretty good and hits hard, but its lower speed can make it tough to hit first, since its fairly fragile.

    So, what do you think of it overall? I was considering changing Staraptor, but I'm not sure about it.

    I rarely play doubles, but it doesn't make any sense having 3 electric attacking moves on jolteon. Get rid of either thunderbolt or thunder or even both, and replace them with HP ice or water for those ground types. I'd go with HP water because you already have an ice move on metagross, and water covers 2 of his weaknesses, fire and ground. You can cover talonflames rock weakness with HP water too. You can also give it charge for more damage output on your discharge on the next turn and boosting its sp. def at the same time. And there surely is a better item for Jolteon than Zap plate, maybe specs, which would work well with volt switch.

    As for Staraptor, scarf it. That makes up for its speed plus you can immediately remove any heavy counters with Final gambit, pretty much nothing will outspeed a scarfed Staraptor, except maybe priority. Scarf also works well with u-turn.

    Staraptor is one of those Pokemon that functions better in singles than doubles. Since Talonflame is weak to Rock Slide, you can consider fitting in a Wide Guard user in its place. Common ones are Hitmontop and Aegislash:

    Hitmontop:
    -Fake Out
    -Close Combat
    -Wide Guard
    -Helping Hand/Quick Guard/Feint
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 SDef
    Item: Sitrus Berry/Lum Berry
    Ability: Intimidate

    Aegislash:
    -Shadow Ball
    -Flash Cannon/Sacred Sword
    -Wide Guard
    -King's Shield
    Nature: Quiet
    EVs: 252 HP/100 SAtk/156 SDef
    Item: Leftovers/Weakness Policy

    Yes, Jolteon is fast, but I don't think it sees merit in doubles formats, due to its frailty and shallow movepool. Don't forget that Discharge will hit the user's partner. Wash Rotom is a better Talonflame counter, since it's bulkier:
    -Thunderbolt
    -Hydro Pump
    -Will-o-Wisp
    -Protect/Rest
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 252 HP/44 Def/212 SAtk
    Item: Sitrus Berry/Chesto Berry

    It's better to give Talonflame max Speed over max HP because Brave Bird will wear it down either way, making bulk investment pointless. Also, consider Flare Blitz or Overheat on Talonflame so it can hit Steel Pokemon hard:
    -Flare Blitz/Overheat
    -Brave Bird
    -Tailwind/Taunt/Will-o-Wisp
    -Quick Guard/Protect/Will-o-Wisp
    Nature: Adamant/Naughty
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb
    Ability: Gale Wings

    Also, give natures for your Pokemon. Metagross has to be Jolly, for instance.

    I added Hitmontop to replace Staraptor, and its a big improvement. I'll work on Rotom next.
