Any idea why main Pokémon games still doesn't implement damage numbers in battles?

Sure, GF is rather conservative all things considered. But considering that literally every other JRPG series you can think of implements damage numbers, those little digits that briefly appear when you damage or heal a target, for the obvious reasons of making the battles more dynamic. By contrast, main Pokémon titles never seemed to move past the Game Boy phase as far as implementing damage numbers go, especially when the games themselves got more bells and whistles to play with over the years. And yes, this only concerns the main Pokémon games. Spinoffs such as the Mystery Dungeon games have their own 'rules' regarding damage numbers.

So, got any questions? Should main Pokémon games finally implement damage numbers in a future title in an effort to make the battles more dynamic?
