Okay, I was re-watching the original Pokemon Series . Ya know, the good one... But anyways, in several episodes, some of the creatures found in Kanto are a little.....Non-Pokemon-Like . Like in the first episode, I'm pretty sure there's normal birds flying up in the clear blue sky . It just kinda make you wonder if there are at least a few normal creatures in the Pokemon Universe.....Very few....

This is something that I dont think we will ever see again. We have also seen them eating chicken, fish in a aquarium, and a Mongoose in an old episode. I hated it every time.

yes in a few scenes in the first series you could see evidence of real creature like team rocket eating steak ( although it could have been a Tarous they were eating but I doubt it)

I think the Pokemon are the world's normal animals, and that those appearances early in the anime were purely oversights. Since they don't appear again, that certainly seems to the case.

Yeah, they did that, but I think they fixed it because Pokemon are supposed to be normal animals in that area/story/setting/universe/what ever you want to call it.

I also remember a lame joke about a "Cow-terpie" involving Ash with a real-world cow mask on. XD

But there were a lot of inaccuracies near the start of the series. "Aim for the horn, Pikachu!"

They are few and far between nowadays, because Pokemon is no longer in the early stages of development. These vague questions about the world they're from are now generally answered. Heh.

    Exactly.

Altho, if you look at it from a realistic perspective, that can't really be right... Seeing as there are, as mentioned, food, and there (should) also be such things as regular bugs, mosquitos and such (I wouldn't want to be stung by a beedrill while sitting outside, drinking lemonade XD)... The world would be REALLY empty without animals... And what would humans have evolved from? Aipom? Does that make us Pokémon?

I see Pkmn as mosters that use weird powers. The regular animals just aren't noticed.
But I may be wrong, right?

I think this disscussion in the Pkmn and Philosophy Group may be interesting reading.

Actually, I was playing Blue Version today, and guess what I stumbled upon ?
Several references to NORMAL animals.....Whoda thunk ?

There are real-world references throughout the Pokemon franchise.

The Pokedex info, usually the "species" type, often compares a Pokemon to some type of animal, either living, extinct, or mythological/fictional.

There is no shortage of references to real-world places. The United States, China, and the South American country of Guyana are all countries that are directly referenced. The anime, video games, and manga have multiple cities, towns, and sights that certainly resemble real-world sights too.

And yes, some animals are seen in the anime, usually in the early seasons. Coral is seen in the Manaphy movie though, and "Sounds of Nature Track 01- Birds in Forest" can usually be heard in the background of most anime episodes.

Why don't we see them more often? The show is called Pokemon. That's the focus, not the boring crap around it.

I actually don't believe I noticed that. But now that you mention it... You're completely right.
