So pokeballs are supposed to be weakest pokeball, great balls are supposed to be stronger and ultra balls being strongest. Has anyone noticed any evidence this being true? For me there seems to be no difference between the catch rate of the 3 balls. Today I found a 300 cp squirtle had it escape from a few of all 3 balls but finally caught it in the normal poke ball (red one)

As for what i saw, if wild pokemon appears with high CP and you have your pokeball out, the cricle you need to hit with pokemon is red (it can be green, yellow or red), if you change to great ball in some cases circle will turn green or yellow depanding on pokemon cp.

Oh really? I will have to test that out thanks. I have noticed ones with green circle are easy to catch so will test out which poke all helps.

Hi I have noticed that you can catch high CP pokemon with standard balls and that low CP 200 can escape from black and yellow balls and run away. I put it down to the game allowing it to occur i.e. you were always ment to catch that pokemon or not. Cheers

    Yep, that's accurate!

You can see the proof in the various ball types being stronger/weaker based on that circle. It's also worth noting that it's a very common feature throughout the Pokémon series that the ball order goes Poké < Great < Ultra etc and that's been in almost every game to date so I think it's very safe to say it's true :)
