Apocalypse...

I think the meteor is going to come, and it will destroy all life on earth. However, we'll all be in space living in space colonies and it will be a symbolic way of moving out of our earthly cradle, and moving on from our past. The date is only predicting great technological advancements, IMO. Besides, even if we couldn't move out before it strikes, we can always nuke it. When all else fails... nuke 'em.
 
I doubt 1000 nukes would do anything to a meteor of that proportion. Maybe a few chunks knocked off but not much since the chunks would just scatter and hit. And if by some miracle the nukes do blow up the meteor, we'd have to live through nuclear winter and all the radiation from those nukes will start to mess with us. And nuclear winter lasts for a long time...

ANd I agree with Jynx. I'd rather die than get old.
 
Hey you know what... I'll just believe that Titan A.E. is a true story and when something weird happens to our planet I'll just look for a big round spaceship and use it and make a new planet ^^

Yeah I saw it on FX a week or so ago. I missed like the first hour of it so I didn't know what happened to Earth or whatever..still don't. I started watching it around the part where the guy was thiking back to when the other captain dude guy visited him and told him to come with him to find the Titan or something with the other dudes and girl.

Seems kinda impossible for humans to ever create a man-made planet.
 
You guys believe the movies too much...I seirously doubt we'll have space colonies...we're barely even able to send a few people to regular space and back, let alone have a settlement...

Heh heh, I agree with Dakota... I think movies impact us so much that we somehow think that something improbable or even impossible IS possible.
 
Have a think of it! If you gon on space...
a, you won't get enough oxygen for your life.
b, It is impossible to get gravity, and your bone structure will soften and no longer can carry your weight if you go to Earth again within 4 days! Unless loads of exercise is done.
c, Food!? You won't eat humans, do you?
d, communicate? You might have a bit of oxygen supplu in your space suit, but bear in mind that internet, radiation, phone signals cannot be conducted.
