Arbok or Victreebel?

    I need help choosing a good pokemon that learns strong grass type moves. I've just looked at all of my teams stats and each poke had something over 200 for their best stat(my team are at lvl 77 with one at 80) Arbok didn't have a ''best stat''. Does this mean his stats are balanced? Or is he a terrible poke?

    Please don't say something like Roserade, I hate Roserade.
     
    Moving to the in-game Team Help section - that's where threads like these should go. Including more info about your current team may help raters as well.
     
    Arbok's stats are relatively balanced

    But it's like a Medium level balanced set. Honestly, I would go Arbok over Victreebel because of its movepool. I believe Arbok can learn EQ and RS, so that's a good idea with it. Victreebel has bad defenses.
     
    ^Thanx but would it stand a chance against an OU pokemon? Smogon said that it's really strong with Gunk Shot. My Arbok has Gunk Shot and Muscle Band but it can't take out Lance's Salamence. Why do 1st gen pokes have such bad stats?
     
    1st gen pokemon don't have bad stats. There is always those in each generation that have stats lower than the others though.
    What other pokemon do you have in your team? That might help with people offering suggestions as to what you could possibly replace Arbok with.
     
    Arbok can only be used if it has an advantage. It's not going to take out a Salamence, obviously. It's not cause Arbok is weak, its cause Salamence is just strong.

    Arbok and Victreebel are not reliable options to put on an OU. If you can baton pass some good attack into them, Gunk Shot will deal a lot of havoc. They can be used in OU, but there are better options.
    Arbok and Viccy are your UU buddies.

    Also, this is in In-Game help, I'm assuming you wont bring them into online battles.
