Are people in the pokemon universe vegetarians?

    Has anyone ever wondered whether the people in the pokemon world eat meat. If memory serves, hamburgers have been mentioned several times in the pokemon series. I mean if you're there and you're thinking about fish and chips how would a goldeen or a barboarch feel, or is there no meat at all and hamburgers were really just veggie burgers? Hmm, what do you think?
     
    In the anime, Team Rocket did try to catch and eat a Farfetch'd once. People's diets in Pokémon were never really explicated at all, but I would assume that they could be.
     
    I'm sure they would :3 But I don't think that part will be on the manga or anime (especially anime o_O)

    How can they do that, I wonder? It's like eating your own pet or something =.="
     
    Well, I'm sure some are. But not all are, Ash has eaten meat I think. Of course they just usually eat, "Donuts" a.k.a Rice balls, wrapped in seaweed. I think it's called, "Ornigi?" XD

    Anyway as to the question. No people in pokemon aren't vegetarians. They eat pokemon and other animals like fish and seagull. Its just that the games/anime/manga do not go into detail about it and don't want to so they don't get a lawsuit from vegetarians claiming that they are "Butchering" little digital animals.

    There are a LOT of hints in the game that tell you that they eat pokemon. Several pokemon are featured as dishes.
