Are the Pokemon producers just lazy?

I thought it went more like this:
G/R - First Games, New Series
B - Improvement of G/R
Y - Improvement of G/R
G/S - New Series
C - Improvement of G/S
R/S - New Series
LG/FR - Remakes of G/R
E - Improvement of R/S
D/P - New Series
P - Improvement of D/P
HG/SS - Remakes of G/S

Seriously the only difference were battle sprites and a Pikachu following you. They weren't really significant enough to be separate.

They made two remake games, contrary to popular belief.
Games like platinum are third editions, which hardly counts as a remake, not to mention that it is hard to make a completely new region and more than 100 new pokemon( G/S/C >:T), especially when they are running out of ideas.

By the way, they remake it for two reasons.
The public wants it.
They make money off of it.

Clearly, the second reason relies heavily on the first reason in order to work, but they still release god awful games, but that is what a company does I guess.

I think they are lazy for the reason pointed out and others.

Pokemon designs for gen 4 some look like digimon and others are just unoriginal. They should have asked for character designs from fans and the winning 100 to 160 get there pokemon made.

Some pokemon were very original. Have you ever seen a poison dart frog pokemon?
And let us look at some of the designs of Kanto pokemon.
Koffing and Weezing-poison clouds. WOW, what a great idea for a pokemon.
Ponyta and Rapidash-Horses set on fire by a pyromaniac. Come on now.
Geodude & evolutions/Onix-Pieces of rock. It took them a whole six seconds to draw it.

I can get started on why Hoenn pokemon are a huge rip-off to Kanto pokemon, but I think this is enough.
Every region has unoriginal pokemon, some just more than others.

I don't see it being lazy if there is,new sprites and tiles completely. New Music,features and improvements. Is that lazy to you? It takes awhile to come up with 100+ new Pokemon,new maps,region,art,concepts,plots etc. The producers make remakes for the customers to buy it and relive the old games in better quality. Compare the normal,Gameboy Colour game: Pokemon Red. and compare it with Pokemon FireRed,they added better graphics,the Running Shoes has been born and new sprites. Overall Remakes are not made because of laziness,they are made mostly for entertainment purposes and a little of money purposes.

Actually, the main reason they remade HG/SS was because people kept asking, begging for it. Other then that though, I think it's a bit too early to stamp any patterns down.

They are not releasing a new region until the next console comes up.

By the next console, there will be a new Pokemon game.

I actually like the remaking idea.xD; I'm not use to the new pokemon, I like the old ones.
But I don't think they're lazy, I think they're just running out of ideas. But I don't know where your getting at. We've had a remake of RG, then a new region (Hoenn) then another "remake" (Emerald), then a new region (Sinnoh) and another "remake" (Platinum) and now we just finished the remakes of Gold and Silver.

Personally they should re-remake FRLG into better graphics and a more broader and epic storyline. Some things I feel like is left out.

I dont think they're lazy...They have other games to work on aswell...but they have edged themselves for Gen.5! Arceus is god, blah blah blah, now what?
