As Darkness Falls- The Call of the Old Chateau

Leyla listened to Korbin's introduction with interest, though she did not look directly up at him, so he wasn't aware that she was paying special attention. But she did, however, eye Helena, Korbin's Sneasel, who was perched on his shoulder.

Azleyla is a rather nervous person in new situations and meeting new people. So it's a wonder why she was even allowing herself to lean on a man she had met less than forty-five minutes ago. But hey, she was dizzy, frightened to the point of almost passing out, and in a new, strange, and obviously haunted place. What would you do?

Let's see, either A) Lean on a man twice your size and stature, who seems to intimidate every other person in the room.

Or B) Stand alone and unguarded, in the middle of the room. In the dim lighting. When somebody was just brutally murdered. By an unseen force.

Yeah. That's what I thought.

So Leyla wasn't really all that bothered by Korbin himself, but rather, his Sneasel. She seemed to be eyeing her. Leyla couldn't exactly blame her, she was so very close to the Pokemon's Master. Leyla's heartbeat sped up once more at the newfound fear that the Sneasel would become aggressive.

Korbin suggested that the group should split into two groups. Leyla was about to agree, when she felt herself being moved. Korbin had made Leyla part of his side without even asking.

Leyla's face burned in embarassment and annoyance. Sure, he was trying to be nice. But Leyla is a very prideful person. She likes making her own decisions, doing things herself, and most certainly not being treated as weak because she's frightened.

Azleyla calmed herself.

'Sneasels. Smell. Fear.' she told herself mentally. 'And. Aggression.'

Seeing as Leyla's stomach was rolling, sand her head was still spinning, Leyla decided to let the gesture slide for now.

'It's not a big deal... maybe he has a little sister.' Leyla thought, and nodded internally. 'Yeah. Just a natural brotherly protection. It's not personal. Relax.'

Though Leyla didn't like seeming fragile and weak, she let herself seem hat way for now. At least until she felt better.

So Leyla smiled weakly up at Korbin, then looked back down at Sakura, who was slightly disturbed by the movement. Leyla smiled and petted the purple Pokemon's coat, waiting for the others to choose their sides.

(Hahahaha. 'and he most certainly would not grow affectionate to any of them.' Syke!)

Nolvic looked around the room at the other people introducing themselves. Mark, Amelia, Azleyla, and Korbin. "First names only? A little impersonal for my tastes, but to each their own, as for me, my name is Nolvic Vatoss, and this portable lamp is my friend Seeker." Seeker nodded to the other people and pokemon in the room. Nolvic had a feeling about Leyla and Korbin, and wanted to see where this awkward relationship would go, but survival of everyone possible was most important. "As for me, I already know where I'd prefer to be.....but I will go with whichever group needs me, unless I'm completely unneeded and unwanted of course." Nolvic looked around the room again, upon reflection he realized his last statement was stupid, every single person here looked capable in their own unique ways, he doubted any of them could Need him, but then again he didn't like getting rid of one person to be near another, so he would leave it up to the others where he went.

The Chateau was truly disturbing, everything was so obviously high quality but...completely ruined, it truly was a shame that such craftsmanship and hard work had gone to waste. It didn't take long for Nolvic to decided over analysing such a creepy place where some formless menace had brutally murdered their guide was not good for his mental constitution, so he looked at the others again.

Korbin.....he was definitely strong, in body AND will, he also seemed to have some leadership, along with some chivalry and.....a definitive slowness in trusting anybody, all around he could definitely be trusted to worry about more than just his own life, he would make sure anybody near him was okay if there was anything he could do about it. And his Sneasel: Helena, she was extremely attached to him, and didn't seem to be any more willing to place her trust in somebody who didn't already have it.....it wouldn't surprise him if somebody got hurt because she misunderstood an innocent act as malace towards her trainer....Samrin seemed to be focused on maintaining the flame that helped light up the room so Nolvic couldn't get a read on him.

Mark a thief by trade....if it could be called one, probably the shadiest of everyone there, but he admitted he was a thief before anyone even had to suspect it, and his Sableye, Snype was obviously a cleftomaniac, and being a dark type with such strong eyes....probably had a pension for shiny things specifically. Nolvic decided that if it came down to it Mark wouldn't sacrifice somebody else's life just to steal treasure, and Snype would do as he said, so nothing to worry about from him.

Azleyla Mills seemed like a confident and intelligent person overall, but just wasn't mentally prepared for what happened to Darrius, but Nolvic doubted any of them were, he certainly wasn't, she just didn't get numbed by shock as the rest of them, so she reacted a little more strongly. Her Espeon Sakura....such a warm, pleasant presence, just being near the cat-like psychic type made Nolvic feel a lot more at peace. Leyla didn't seem to have any suspicious traits but.....Nolvic had to avoid looking at her as much as possible.....Especially her face. Nolvic shook his head to try and steel himself against the flood of pain that rushed through his mind and heart.

.....And then there was Amelia she had 3 of her pokemon with her.....but Nolvic couldn't get a read on her at all...she seemed nice enough, although fairly reserved....he decided that he would learn more about her when he needed to. "Hmph, quite a mess we've all gotten into...I'm going to take a bat to my mailbox when I get home so I never get a letter asking me to go to some damn haunted mansion ever again..." Nolvic hoped that Azleyla wasn't paying enough attention as he scrutinized everybody to notice how strongly he avoided looking at her face, he didn't want her to get the wrong idea.

Snype stood firm as he was threatened by Amelia's Umbreon. It looked like it was ready to pounce at Snype. Luckily Amelia stopped him from doing so. Snype just gave off a blank stare to Lucifer. He was dissapointed in how immature Lucifer was acting... especially considering the circumstances. He chattered a little bit to Lucifer, as if scolding him.

[Cool it will ya? Be more respectful. Somebody lost their life just now.]"
Snype said in translation.

Mark sighed and looked around the building for some viable options of where to go. He overheard Nolvic's comment on smashing his own mailbox. At least somebody was trying to keep a positive mood in a dire situation. Mark actually chuckled a bit. Though he recalled his previous comment about why everyone only announced their first names. Mark has as good of a reason as any.

"I don't have a last name. If I did I refuse to be named by it. That's another story for another time though. Korbin is right. Lets think of where to go next."

Mark was usually a loner ever since his parents left him by himself back in Canalave. He never saw them again, and soon began to hate and question them. He refused to think of them... or remember what his last name really was... but that wasn't important, or so Mark thought.

There was a set of stairs leading to the second floor, And one bigger door on the first floor leading to a room right below the one upstairs. Snype leaned on Mark's left leg with his arms crossed as he had also gave a look. Mark was mostly interested in the room upstairs though. Many buildings like this usually have several bedrooms on the second floor. He might either find a key, Or a nice piece of treasure... a "keepsake".

"Well, I guess I'll check around upstairs. Me and Snype can cover alot of ground together. If anyone would like to join me I'd appreciate it. I suggest another group explores downstairs but your all free to make your own choices here. I'm not a big fan of leadership." Mark explained, looking down at the dead body. "...but... shouldn't we do something about...him? It doesn't feel right leaving his dead body on the floor like this..."

Neither Mark or Snype were willing to touch the body. There wasn't anything to loot on him but even if there was, the two of them had strict standards when it came to being a thief. Stealing from a departed soul wasn't only disgusting morally, but also dishonorable. When it came to thievery, Honor played a huge part in everything.

Snype glanced down at the body, adjusting his black wristbands as he glanced around at the other pokemon. He needed to make sure nothing else would randomly pounce at him. First impressions weren't always Snype's strong suit unfortunately for him. Other Sableye possibly had it just as bad.

((I don't know if we're still doing the whole pokemon translation thing from last time, But personally I like some Pokemon interaction. Each of them are like their own characters personally.))

Amelia looked at this Nolvic Vatoss fellow. He seemed to like anything and everything proper, which Amelia didn't like. The only thing of hers she enjoyed being proper was her English. "I'd rather not mention my last name. No one needs to know it," Amelia said. Lucifer looked at Snype in annoyance. "Umbreon. [Says you, thief.]" he said, upset at the fact that the Sableye could've stolen all of Amelia's items if it had wanted to. "Two sides," Amelia said in response to what Korbin had imposed. "Didn't this guy," she started as she lightly tapped the body with her foot, "tell us who to go with?" She felt sort of stupid in a way, remembering those dumb people in the scary movies who checked everywhere for the killer without first having some sort of weapon to defend themselves.

Mark suggested that the body be moved, but seemed unwilling to touch its bloody mass. The messy heap was starting to gather flies. It was pretty sad, that this happy man had died like this. Amelia looked around, thinking of what should be done with it. "So... we can either carry the body... no scratch that, the doors are locked. The only way we can get rid of it is to shove it out a window or burn it," Amelia explained. "Espe," Maluu said, ears twitching. She felt the air currents with her sensitive, psychic fur, sensing a demonic presence, and fear in the room. Suddenly, Maluu shot a Signal Beam from the brilliant red ruby on her forehead. The beam seemed to hit against something invisible for a moment, before continuing its path and hitting the wall.

Maluu quickly stopped the beam before she could collapse the wall. "Maluu! What was that?!" Amelia exclaimed, failing to not shout. "Erm, not that I was afraid or anything. My friends say I'm really brave, so. Yeah." Amelia of course was lying, as the sudden outburst of Maluu had scared her senseless. "Espeon!" Maluu replied eagerly, lightly headbutting Amelia's leg. Lucifer just looked at her and then up at where she had shot the beam. "A-and if you want, I can go with you," Amelia said to Mark, almost instantly forgetting about what Maluu had just done. Maluu growled and bit at the edge of Amelia's pant leg, tugging on it. Amelia ignored Maluu for what she thought was just a cry for attention.

Again, she thought about those cliché scary movies. They would all go upstairs. They'd hear sounds coming from the closet in the corridor. Amelia, in her own boasted "braveness" would go in the opposite direction. There, she would walk to the edge of the stairs, and look over the banister. Then the evil force would push her off and tear her to shreds. Unless it went like the other cliché, where they catch the guy behind all this, and upon unmasking him he would blame the meddling kids for his capture. Probably not likely, but Amelia would still prefer option two.

Nolvic chuckled a bit at Amelia's refusal to give her last name. "I apologize if I come off as formal, this is obviously not the time or place to be so." Then for a moment Nolvic's face became very serious. "It's just that trusting your companions in a situation like this can often be crucial to survival." Then Nolvic's almost constant smile returned and and he spoke jovially again. "As I said earlier, the giving of a surname is just how I prefer to introduce myself, not a suggestion, I hold no ill will towards anyone for not knowing their's, I merely know that I'm trustworthy, and I feel that others trust me better, if they know me better." When Amelia mentioned Darrius' previous splitting of the group into teams his brow furrowed for a moment. "That's another reason I leave it up to the rest of you where I go, for whatever reason I was left out of the list when teams were decided earlier.

Seeker watched Snype and Maluu staring each other down and just shook his head. [This is no time to get snappy, all of our lives are in danger, and it's not like we can just battle this threat as if it were one of us, we need to stay on guard and work together.] he spoke to them telepathically, making no audible noise. Nolvic thought a moment on Mark's comment about disposing of Darrius' corpse, it obviously came from concern for honoring the body, not disgust at the gore, then we had an idea when Amelia mentioned fire. "Perhaps we could cremate him, as an honorable disposal, and we can have some psychic pokemon hold his body in the air and contain the fire around him so that the mansion doesen't burn.

When Nolvic watched Maluu shoot her signal beam that seemed to hit something invisible which quickly moved out of the way he scrutinized the area for a moment and Seeker's ears twitched and he reflexively bared his fangs until he realized there was no immediate danger. Nolvic smiled warmly after Amelia screamed then pretended she wasn't afraid. "Not to sound like a know it all Amelia, but there is no need whatsoever to try looking brave, despite how stoic some of us may look." Nolvic glanced at Korbin as he said stoic. "Or how calm and spritely I may seem we are all scared, theres a line between brave and stupid, personally, I'm terrified it's all a matter of not letting it affect my judgement.

Mark again took a quick look around the room, Paranoid of any otherworldly beings appearing out of nowhere to threaten his life. Fortunately this benifited mark's safety as Amelia's Espeon shot a signal beam straight at a wall very close to Mark. As the beam was fired, Mark crouched down with his hand over his head. The beam seemed to hit something invisible, but quickly began to make contact with the wall. Amelia stopped Maluu before any more damage could be done. She insisted that she was brave, and wasn't afraid of whatever Maluu spotted. The way Amelia was acting a few seconds ago, He didn't exactly believe this but for everyone's sake, Mark played along.

"I don't mind Amelia. The more the better... As long as our Pokemon get along that is." Mark said, Looking down at both Snype and Lucifer.

Mark's Stomach began to turn after hearing the idea of cremating Darrius' body, burning it. Thinking about it now... this probably was not the best time to be doing such things, despite the circumstances. Plus, Mark was not exactly fond of seeing something like this happen.

"Um... I kind of just ment putting him against a wall or something... ya know... so we don't step on him when we're walking around... If we stay around longer, We're bound to join him." Mark said, looking at the body again in disgust.

Snype froze a bit when he began to hear voices in his head. The only pokemon capable of doing such a thing was the Lucario that was owned by Nolvic. The Lucario scolded the both of them about working together. Snype didn't need to be reminded about working together. It was all he did whenever he was by mark's side. He was definitely making a terrible first impression, But then again, Lucifer wasn't doing so well himself either.

"[Of course. I'm the least of your worries buddy. I'm not looking to make any enemies.] Snype said, Giving off the large smile Sableye are known for. He continued to speak after adjusting his black wristbands once more. "[Let's all be friends here eh?]" He continued, holding out both of his hands to both Lucifer and Seeker, offering a handshake. Seeker... It was funny. Mark had a Xatu that was also named Seeker. Though Snype always found the other Seeker a very strange type... considering he could see into the future.

"Well Nolvic, Your free to go with any group you choose. Me, Snype, And Amelia will check out upstairs... unless you two have any objections." Mark said, Looking at both Korbin and Leyla.

((*Wipes brow*
Phew, 3,200 words later...))

"Shit! Run. Run! RUN!" He was running. Away? Yes, away. But from what? He didn't know. He just had to escape from it, no matter what it was. He heard footsteps behind him. Was he running from the footsteps? No… The footsteps… were running with him. Yes. They were. He was sure of it. Then, his feet were gone, the floor was hurtling towards him. His face slammed, and he felt blood flow. The footsteps… no the two people ran past him, and then stopped, and ran back to pick him up. He cursed and kept running, ignoring the spikes of pain emanating from his face. His blood tasted salty, and he recoiled slightly from the taste. Wait, it tasted…good? Didn't it? Yes, yes the blood tasted good. The voices said so. He trusted the voices. The voices were his friends…weren't they? No. the voices weren't his friends. Then why did he trust them? He continued to lick the blood from his face. The two people that he was running with, Were they his friends? Yes. He was certain of this. Well one of them was his friend. The other. He… Damn. The pain was interrupting his thoughts. Wasn't it? Yes, it was. It wasn't that bad. It felt…good? No… Wait! Yes. It felt good. Yes. It was annoying though. He looked over his shoulder. Darkness… was the darkness chasing them? Yes. Yes, it certainly was. The voices yelled out to him. "LOOK OUT!" He stopped. He trusted the voices. Wait, His friends… falling! He lunged, grabbing one of them. There's a pit beneath them and spikes? Yes, spikes are at the bottom. He pulls a pokeball off of his pants and releases a teammate. The teammate grabs his other friend and pulls her up. The Darkness is getting closer. The Pokémon Looks at him and nods, then grabs his friends and throws them across the pit. He grins and then feels his teammate lift him up. "No! No! I won't leave you!" He feels himself fly across, and he reaches back for the pokeball. It's too late. The darkness reaches his Teammate and swallows him whole. He ignores the tugs of his friends. His teammate is dead, and it's his fault. The voices are screaming at him. He opens his eyes and nods. He trusts the Voices. He runs after his friends. The darkness is following him at a faster speed. It's no longer Darkness… It's taken the form of his Teammate. They keep running. Then they reach a wall. He spins around and holds himself out. He's willing to sacrifice himself. The floor falls out from under them and they're surrounded by darkness.

Scott sat up, drenched with sweat. He breathed heavily, and reflected over what he just saw. It was a nightmare, obviously, but… Scott closed his eyes and tried to free associate. His thoughts roamed, but he couldn't make any connections with his dreams and his psyche. He opened his eyes and sighed.

"Dreams don't make sense sometimes. Do they?"

Scott stared at his pokeball belt on the dresser and stood up. He had to get ready. The Old Chateau was waiting for him. Scott grabbed his bag off of the dresser and unzipped it. He pulled out Pok'etchCross-Transceiver and placed it on his wrist. He then grabbed a fresh change of clothes and walked to the bathroom. He emerged a few minutes later with clean clothes on and his hair brushed. Scott paused for a minute before grabbing a stick of deodorant out of his bag and applying it.

"There we go, much better. Alright, let's get this show on the road, shall we?"

Scott grabbed his bag, strapped on his belt, and walked down the stairs, eager to get going. When he reached the bottom of the stairs he looked up and scanned the Pokémon center. There was absolutely no one there, if you didn't count the nurse Joy. But then again, it was 1:00 A.M. Scott walked over to the nurse Joy and flashed her a smile.

"Hello Nurse Joy. I trust you are having a good night?"

She yawned loudly and nodded. "Yes sir. It's been a good night so far. There haven't been any trainers in here since ten. Are you leaving?"

Scott nodded. "Yes ma'am. I have somewhere I need to be by tomorrow, so I have to take the subway. I'm sorry to be bothering you, but could I have my Egg please?"

"Yes sir. Right away Mr. Cerana. I'll be right back." She walked into the back room and Scott raised an eyebrow. He had been called Sir quite a lot but Mr.? That was a new one. He shrugged briefly and stiffened when she returned.

"Here you go Mr. Cerana, I went to the liberty of giving it a check up and I believe it's going to hatch soon. Perhaps even tomorrow! Anyway, thank you for visiting the Pokémon center. We hope to see you again."

Scott took the cylindrical egg incubator from her and smiled. "Thank you nurse. I'm sure we'll meet again." He winked at her and walked out. He needed to get going.

Scott stepped out into the streets of Nimbasa and was instantly blinded by a spotlight from the theme park across the river. He covered his eyes with his arm until the light moved, and began walking towards the Gear station. He walked up the stairs and entered the elevator, before moving down into the main station. When he stepped out, his eyes widened. He knew that the gear station was large, but this was just RIDICULOUS! The ceiling went up quite a few stories as far as he could tell. The whole place was circular, and long tunnels branched off every 30 or so degrees. Scott walked over to a kiosk and looked through the glass.

"Hello sir, I was wondering which Subway was the one that went to Sinnoh? I need to get there, and I bought my ticket in advance."

The man behind the glass pushed a button, and a picture of the station lit up, showing Scott which Subway he needed to get to. Scott thanked the man and walked off, heading towards the Tunnel. When he reached the gate, he handed the man his ticket and got on the subway before sitting down and falling asleep.

Scott was jostled awake when the train started moving and gasped at the speed it was moving at.

"Thank Arceus for technology. 200 miles per hour… Holy crap."

Scott grinned and nodded off, holding tightly onto the egg incubator. He was going to need all the energy he could get. Being tired while exploring a decrepit building could be very, very bad.

(…)

Scott yawned and sat up when he heard a voice over the subway intercom.

"Attention, we will be arriving at the Eterna city Subway station in approximately 5 minutes. Thank you."

Scott rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and stretched, before grabbing his bag. He felt the Subway car slow down before stopping completely. Scott stood up and walked out of the car, eager to get to the Old chateau. He lifted up his Pok'etchX-transceiver and spoke into it; "Send message to Korbin, Hey Korbin, are you at Eterna yet? End message"((It could come through somewhere in the old chateau revealing a phone signal))

Scott lowered his wrist and set down his backpack, before placing the incubator in it carefully. He continued walking, marveling at the beauty of the city. The Dialga statue towered in front of him, and he gawked at it. It was HUGE! Scott closed his eyes and looked down. Humans were amazing an all but Pokémon… Pokémon are Gods. Some of them anyway. If Pokémon didn't want to be friends with humans, or if Pokeballs didn't exist, Humans would be screwed. Scott opened his eyes and nodded. He needed to get going.

"Eterna Forest. Said to be frozen in time. Beyond that, The Old Chateau, rumored to be haunted. Alright, come on out Nox."

Scott pulled a Pokeball off of his belt, held it out and released his Pokémon.

The white light shot out of his pokeball, and it began to move forward after hitting the ground. Legs started to form, muscular and strong. The body showed itself, long and sleek. The head showed itself, and the ears leaned back. The white light seeped into its body and its dark fur turned black. It ran forward and leaped into the air before hitting a tree and back-flipping off of it. The Umbreon landed on all fours and opened its eyes, lighting his red rings. Nox walked over to Scott's side and stood alert, scanning the interior of the forest with his blue eyes.

Scott chuckled and scratched behind Nox's ears. "Always going for the theatrics aren't you? Good boy Nox. Come, we're going to the Old Chateau."

Scott ventured into the forest, with Nox right beside him. Scott shivered briefly, the Forest seemed…Odd…almost like everything had been slowed down. His movements felt slow and heavy. Scott shook his head. This place was getting to him, and he needed to relax. He continued walking, deeper into the unknown.

Nox listened to everything that was happening around him; He heard Pokémon moving through the tall grass, the trees, ground under his feet. They were everywhere, all around them, it just took a trained eye, or ear to notice them. Nox felt the presence of a mysterious object nearby. It seemed to resonate with his entire being, urging him to be something else. Nox shook his head, cutting off the connection between him and that strange relic. He let his senses scan once more, searching for danger. Nox froze before he began laughing like a Hyena. A dark power passed over him, and it made him feel rejuvenated. The darkness flowed in and out of him, leaving him stronger than ever. Then, just as soon as the feeling came, it left, and the dog sighed happily. That was the greatest thing he'd ever felt. He caught up to Scott and continued walking, searching for that dark presence again.

Scott raised an eyebrow at Nox and paused before shrugging and resuming his walk. Nox could pick up on strong emotions and memories from the air, the ground, landmarks, and even blood. Scott shuddered briefly. That still creeped him out a bit. Scott continued walking and glanced down when Nox caught back up. They continued to walk, uninterrupted until they heard two people arguing.

"It's suicide! I refuse to allow anyone to take a step into that building! I will stop you Darrius!"

"Step aside Gardenia. I don't want to hurt anyone."

Scott looked down at Nox and nodded before running forward and witnessing the Gym Leader of Eterna arguing with Darrius, the REPO leader for Sinnoh. Darrius glanced over at Scott and the other recruits that were already here.

"Hey recruits. It appears that we have a bit of a problem. Would you assist me?"

Scott smirked before narrowing his eyes. He met Gardenia's glare head on and removed another Pokeball on his belt.

"Go, TERA!"

Scott held his Pokeball up and let the beam of light form up in the air. The white light began to condense. The short leathery-skinned Pokémon tossed its bone straight up, before she plummeted to the ground below. She raised her white head and tilted it, showing the spikes that grew out of her head. She reached out and caught the bone, and then holding it up like a deadly club.

Gardenia's eyes narrowed further and she pulled a pokeball out from her clothes and threw it out.

"Serperior, take it out. I trust you know what to do." Gardenia turned away to focus on the other recruits. Scott chuckled; this was going to be easy.

Gardenia's pokeball opened up, and shot out a beam of pure light, which began to form a long shape. The long thing began to get more details. A slender snout, spikes sticking off of its neck and a long tapered tail. A crown-like growth stuck out of the top up its head. The snake opened its mouth, letting out a hiss.

"sssssserperiiior."

Scott bit his lip. Serperior were fast. Really, REALLY fast. His mind raced, thinking of a way to beat it. An idea popped into his head, a brilliant idea, a strategy he'd used before. Scott hoped that Tera still remembered it He pointed at the grass snake.

"Now Tera, use 'RangBash'!"

The Marowak nodded and threw her bone at the Serperior, before running towards it. The grass snake dodged the bone projectile easily and smirked, before widening its eyes at Tera flying towards it. Tera connected with the snake, resulting in both of them flying back. Tera's momentum launched her backwards and into a tree. She cried out in pain and fell to the ground.

The Serperior raised itself, and began to crawl around in a circle. Faster, faster, faster, faster. The air started to spiral within the area that the Snake was circling around, and leaves from the trees were ripped off and began to circulate. The Serperior spun one last time before breaking the circle, and letting the tornado fly off in the direction of Tera.

Scott saw Tera's Bone on the ground in front of him and picked it up. He tossed it up and caught it a few times.

"Tera, Dodge it!"

Tera sat up and had just enough time to see the Tornado moving towards her before she was slammed into the tree once more. She felt some of the leaves cut into her skin, and felt blood trickle down. Tera fell down to the ground and then stood up half a second before the Serperior Wrapped her and then began to use Wring out, squeezing Tera until she cried out. The Serperior dropped her and then moved away, before bowing, and allowing its opponent to counter-attack.

Scott laughed. "Alright Tera, let's show him his biggest mistake. GO LONG!"

Tera nodded and began running at the Serperior. She launched herself through the air towards the snake. Scott threw the bone in front of her as hard as he could. The Serperior dodged Tera's Skull Bash and snickered. Tera then caught her club and hurled it at the serpent. The Serperior took the hit on the base of its neck, just above its 'collar' and was stunned momentarily. The bone continued its journey and pulled a U-turn, smacking the snake in its face. The club flew back to Tera and she spun it in her hand like a baton. She nodded and began running towards the Serperior, Bone in hand. A blue energy glowed around the bone, getting brighter with every passing moment. Tera pulled her arm back and slammed the bone into Serperior's face, knocking it out.

Scott smiled widely at Tera. "Great job girl! You deserve a rest." Scott held out his pokeball and returned Tera with a beam of red light. He winked at Gardenia.

"Not bad for a Pokémon that wasn't given orders. You train Pokémon well Gardenia. Nicely done."

Gardenia scowled at Scott. "Don't say I didn't warn you."

With that, Gardenia walked off, most likely to a Pokémon center. Scott looked down at Nox.

"Sorry Buddy, next time."

The Umbreon rolled its eyes, and began walking towards the Chateau, following the blonde man, Darrius. Scott chuckled and ran after him. Past the gates, through the courtyard, and into the Old Chateau. He looked over and saw Korbin, but before he could say anything, the doors slammed shut and darkness fell around them.

Nox stared at the thing on the ceiling. It was dark being that radiated Evil and Malice. Nox shuddered at the darkness that came off of it. He liked darkness, but there was a limit. His rings let off a faint glow. Nox's gaze was averted when Darrius's lighter flickered. He looked back up at the thing to see it fall from the ceiling, and then land behind the REPO leader. Nox shuddered again when the pain radiated from the man. Nox felt his mental state shatter and started shaking. There was too much darkness now. It needed to be vented. Nox's rings began to go dim, and black started to creep along the edges of them. At last, the thing was done, and Nox could relax.

Scott threw up when the ember showed the body. He took a deep breath and waited for his blood to thaw. He looked down at Nox and gasped. His eyes looked like they were bloodshot, with black blood. Scott covered his mouth and wiped away the vomit on his face. Nox must have taken in the feelings that were emanating from that thing, and they must have overloaded him. Scott cursed. They were in way over their heads.

"Nox, Moonlight, drain some of that darkness."

Nox nodded and allowed what little light he could out from his rings and it condensed in the center of the room, making a globe of light. The 'veins' in Nox's eyes receded and his rings began to glow. He directed the darkness that was leaving him at the other Umbreon, he wouldn't receive the dose that Nox had, but he would get enough to feel a little bit stronger. Nox sighed and straightened up. The simulated moon in the hall glowed brighter. Scott walked over to Korbin and nodded.

"Hey Korbin. If we divide, I'm with you."

Scott listened to some of the suggestions that echoed around the foyer. He ran his tongue over his teeth slowly, thinking the situation over. He looked at Nox, and said something disgustingly Macabre.

"Don't burn the body… I need Nox to drink the blood."

Scott's eyes trailed over to the mutilated corpse on the floor. He held back a gag and closed his eyes.

"Some Dark Pokémon, Umbreon, Absol, Sneasel…" Scott glanced at Korbin. "Some Dark Pokémon, have the innate ability to absorb emotions and memories from… well, blood. Very few Dark Pokémon can actually do it, but you find one that can every once in a while. Nox can look through his memories and see if there's anything that we could use to help us." He opened his eyes and sighed. "I know it's disgusting, but it might help us. If you don't want me to tell him to do it, I won't. It has to be unanimous too. I don't want to give anyone a reason to be my enemy. So. What do you all think?"

Nox stared uneasily at the body on the floor. Sure, he could find the man's memories, and it was certainly possible that he'd find an important memory, but that blood was heavily laced with darkness. There was a strong chance it could overwhelm him and corrupt him. But if it would help the others, he'd do it. Nox turned around and felt his eyes widen. He stared at the girl's, -Leyla was it?-Leyla's Espeon. He walked over to Leyla and looked up at her, before turning around and sitting in front of her protectively. He hoped that the Espeon thought he was brave.

(Sure, you've seen a human love triangle before, but have you ever seen an -eon love triangle? No? Didn't think so.)

Pikakip said I could play with you guys!

((Hi. I'm the username about an inch above, and I'll be RPing with you guys because of your absolutely GLORIOUS RP Master))

Nick wandered through the forest. He ducked under branches, crawled under bushes, and pushed past logs. Antsy followed not so far behind on the wind, giggling every time Nick got whacked by a branch or fell and skinned his knee (which was a great many times). He kept calm, though, and just advanced. He looked around, both nervous and excited, wondering what would come but scared of it, too. But he knew his three other Pokemon were close by at all times, so he was reassured no matter how scared he was so deep inside.

He came upon a strange clearing with a large mossy rock. It kind of freaked him out, just sitting there and glowering at him. "Da-D-D...Vinci," he stuttered. As a REAL small guy, the rock was just huge, and he wanted to make sure it was at least real. A Marshtomp came waddling out of the trees to his right. It went over to him, looked up, and cocked its head. It didn't understand why its trainer had called it. "Vinci, do me a favor and hit that rock with an Ice Punch." Da Vinci turned around and waddled over to it. He generated a cold beam, spread it around his arm, and slugged the rock, full force. His arm recoiled, and he fell backwards with a thud. The rock got out, however, unscathed. Nick sighed a big sigh, and walked away, only faintly calling out to his Marshtomp between sighs. The Marshtomp got up and followed Nick, muttering to himself about how his trainer was a self-serving jerk. He just felt that way because the feel of the moss against his skin felt disgusting and got him agitated.

A while later, they stumbled upon another, much larger clearing. There was a man there, tall and blonde, and relatively young, 36 years maximum. He was arguing with a young woman. She had brown hair, and was dressed rather...oddly. He recognized her immediately as Gardenia, the Eterna City Gym Leader. He recognized her from television and magazines and crap. There was a large, creepy-looking mansion that looked like it came straight from the film of a horror movie. It was complete with a big, rusted gate right next to the pair of people.

"...suicide! I refuse to allow anyone to take a step into that building!" Gardenia fumed. "I will stop you, Darrius!"

"Step aside, Gardenia," said the man that was apparently Darrius. He had a deep, commanding voice. "I don't want to hurt anyone."

Gardenia scoffed. "You don't want to hurt anyone?! That's bull crap, Darius!" She glanced over at Nick and around. "If you send them in there they'll ALL be endangered! I'm the one that's keeping people safe!" Darrius glanced in Nick's direction as well. For the first time, actually. His eyes looked welcoming, but Gardenia's tone said otherwise.

The Sinnoh REPO leader spoke to his recruit and glanced a few other places, the same places Gardenia had looked only moments before. "Hello, recruits. It appears that we have a bit of a problem--would you assist me?"

"Well," said Nick, "I wouldn't say it's a problem, but we need to get in there. So, yeah." He looked at Gardenia apologetically. "Sorry, but it needs to be done..."

Gardenia glared at him and pulled out a bunch of Pokeballs from her pocket. "Yo-oou asked for it." She launched the Pokeball at the top of the pile, and a Lilligant popped out.

"Ahh...how about...ANTSY!" A white puff flew down from...wherever, and laded on the ground without a sound. It--or she--floated up a little, and while it floated, Gardenia's Lilligant danced elegantly around. It stopped in its tracks when it saw Antsy. Thalia and Mozart emerged from the trees behind Nick, but he waved them back. This was one-on-one. Antsy and Lilligant were staring off, and their trainers had to remind them that this wasn't a staring contest.

"Lilligant, Stun Spore!" Gardenia commanded. Lilligant shook its head, and a sparkling yellow powder leaked from the yellow spots on its flowers. Antsy saw the danger and quickly slipped away.

"Heh. Heh. Heh." Nick glared at Gardenia, a mischievous smile on his face. "Antsy, Substitute!" Antsy looked baffled by the request, but she shrugged it off. She puffed an ball of cotton from the blue spot on her back and let it float down to the ground. Luckily Lilligant hadn't been looking, and when she turned around, she though the puff of cotton was Antsy. The actual Antsy wafted off behind a tree, nowhere in sight. Thalia stifled a giggle, Mozart buzzed softly, and Da Vinci just stood there.

Gardenia looked at her Pokemon, pathetically glaring at a huge cotton ball. "Petal Dance!" she shouted, and Lilligant went into sort of a trance. It started dancing, then more rapidly, and the flower on its head glowed a vivid scarlet. The glow retained the shape of the petals when it flew off of the actual flower, and a luminescent, levitating flower was headed straight for Antsy's substitute. It sliced right through the puff, leaving only a third of it left.

"Antsy!" shouted Nick, "use Cotton Guard!" Of course, this verbal command had no direct repercussion. Lilligant, on the other hand, looked entranced still. It did what it had before, and this time there was no cotton left afterward. Antsy then floated down from a treetop, but she looked ...different, like she had sunken more into the cotton ball that was her back. She swooped forward and shot a few seeds at Lilligant. They sprouted and wrapped around it, and they let off a scarlet light. Antsy looked rejuvenated, and Lilligant fell to the ground. It flopped around a while, then the affects of Leech Seed hit again.

"Urgh!" Gardenia groaned and slapped her face. She examined the situation. Her expression showed that she couldn't believe a little kid like that could beat her so easily. Or, at least, near beat her. She called back Lilligant, now struggling against the tightening vines, sighed, and hung her head. Her head shot up again, glaring at Nick with a cool hatred. She chuckled softly and smugly and turned to walk away. She turned her head back to look at the wonder of Nick's slightness one more time, and then just slightly muttered the singsong words, "don't say I didn't warn you."

After Gardenia disappeared into the trees, Darrius turned to Nick. There were a few others around, he realized, and he looked at them, too, but he looked a second time at Nick's unbelievable petiteness. "Well," he said, with a clap of his hands, "thanks, guys. I was, believe it or not, really having trouble with her. She was spouting nonsense about the place being haunted"--at this point, Nick sighed HUGELY,--"and about how none of us will make it out." He looked around. "Hmph. Are you guys ready?" There were a few responses, Nick's very weak. "ALRIGHT, LET'S GO!" Darrius and some others pushed the gate open, Nick not even trying to help. They walked to the door. It was large and menacing, and, surprisingly, when Darrius poked it, it creaked open.

When Nick walked inside, closely followed by his Pokemon, he gasped at the beauty. Stairs flanking the left and right side of a small wall and large door, with doors along the walls to the stairs and after the stairs. There was a beautiful, rainbow-casting chandelier that, to Nick and his Pokemon, looked a little too much like a Chandelure. It was supported by large, ugly beams that, despite the aesthetic failure, went good with the rest of the room.

Then the doors slammed shut behind them all.

Darrius' rummaging echoed across the great hall, Nick was on edge the whole time. After a minute or so, Darrius ignited the lighter, causing little illumination. Deep shadows decorated the room, and the stairs were now drawn into a deep blob of black. Darrius' face was caressed by darkness, and he looked scared. There was a dark figure high above, hanging off of the beams supporting the chandelier. It smiled maliciously, the lighter's illumination glinting off of the figure's yellowed teeth. A frown spread across Darrius' face. "Crap. Alright, we must've activated some sort of old security measure. The door locked itself, and it can only be opened with a key." He gulped and looked up at the figure hanging by the rafters. "A key...that we now have to find." Darrius led his hand to his face.

Then the figure dropped from the rafters--and landed behind Darrius with a muffled thud. Darrius turned around to see what was going on, and his lighter went out. Then there was a large, unnatural tearing sound coming from around the door, and then there were agonized, painful, disgusting, horrifying screaming. Nick started to sing to himself as the shrieks and tearing continued. Thalia came close to comfort Nick, and she hugged him. They came eye to eye, and Nick gestured into the darkness for the others to come. Thalia knew he couldn't think straight, since he was apparently in so much pain and fright, and transmitted his thoughts to the other Pokemon. They came together and all embraced Nick. They all listened in horror as the tearing and screaming stopped, and were replaced by glops and smacks and painful whimpers. Soon after all sounds stopped. The boy and his Pokemon agreed that Darrius was dead, and they listened for more. Nick still hadn't stopped singing though, and over his sweet, angelic voice a deep, gravelly, laughing voice cut through the hall--

"Welcome, my children. Welcome to the Old Chateau!"

Amelia tilted her head at Nolvic and merely smiled. This guy had comebacks. "I understand. If you'd really like to know, my last name Muir," she said, albeit hesitantly. "Also, I think I'd best hide my fear as well as I can, because fear is a weakness. I don't wanna be weak in a house of demons..." her voice trailed off, thinking about his suggestion.

Lucifer blinked his large, blood red eyes at Snype and cocked his head in another direction. His behavior was actually very strange, as he had never acted so rudely before.
"Lucifer, be nice. If you don't accept his friendship," Amelia started, knowing quite well Lucifer didn't deserve the gesture of friendship being offered to him, "you're going in your pokéball where you can't get in anybody's way."

Lucifer's eyes widened as another Umbreon, owned by Scott, used Moonlight. It directed darkness at Lucifer, and his eyes seemed to turn into an even brighter red. Amelia listened to Scott as he explained that his Umbreon was to drink blood from the lifeless corpse. It was surely disgusting, but Amelia had seen way too many horror movies in her lifetime to let this disgust her too much.

Absorbing emotions and memories from drinking blood was very intriguing, and made Amelia want to prick her finger right there and get the Pokémon to retrieve any missing memories that were hidden in her subconscious mind. This wasn't the time or place for her to try and get a hold of her childish adventures from the past, however.

"Do it. If it can help us, I'd agree that you let him do it," Amelia replied, looking again at Lucifer. "I haven't forgotten, sweetie." She stared at him as he turned and gave his tail to Snype to use for the undeserved handshake. Her gaze averted to Mark. "I'm real sorry for his behavior. I've no idea what's gotten into him."

Maluu's eyes stayed fixed at the spot where she had shot the Signal Beam, and she didn't move a muscle. She looked like a wild Pokémon as it silently watched its prey. Amelia stole another glance at the body.

"Should we get going upstairs?" she indirectly asked Mark as she headed for the staircase. She didn't want to wait for anybody to follow her. After all, she was too brave to really need anyone. Amelia noticed blood splattered on her brand new, blindingly white shoes. Lucifer had might as well peed on them yesterday when he playfully wanted to mess them up. Amelia grabbed onto the railing and whistled. Lucifer ran back to his trainer, and Maluu seemed to instantly snap out of her little trance.

"Espeon!" She ran over to the staircase and looked up to the dark, unknown depths. Lucifer nuzzled his head against hers, as if they were in some sort of stupid fairytale rather than in a dangerous haunted house with spirits who either were poltergeists or had poltergeist potential. Amelia squinted up at the top of the staircase. She wanted to make sure nothing was up there waiting for her, but not with a light. That would be too risky. Amelia felt the pokéballs latched onto her belt and removed one. It enlarged about three times its previous size as the Pokémon it contained was released. "Go, pokéball," Amelia whispered. The ball opened with the usual red beam of light. Amelia bit her lip as the light flashed, and furniture from upstairs was illuminated. The light faded as a dark blue turtle with light fuzzy ears came out of the pokéball.

"Wartortle!" Monty said, squinting around to get a better look at the unfamiliar location. "Monty, can you please use Aqua Jet to the top of the stairs? That way we can tell if something is up there, but you nor anybody else can really get hurt," Amelia whispered. "Tortle," Monty said, matching Amelia's whisper. He retracted his head and limbs into his shell, and water sprayed out through the holes in it.

He was propelled upward at an amazing speed, and made it a few feet into the upstairs room without hitting anything. Amelia waited for a moment, but all was quiet. "Monty?" No answer. As if forgetting the fact that she was trying to be quiet, she stormed upstairs and peered around.

"Where are you?" she asked in a whisper, even though she had obviously already made enough noise to wake up everybody in the neighboring Eterna City. "Tortle Tortle Tortle!" Monty exclaimed while rolling on the floor in laughter. "Oh my God, Monty," Amelia said with a growl. Monty was afraid of having to do any jobs involving him going somewhere alone, and so he got back at Amelia for sending him upstairs by himself.

Thinking about it more closely, it probably would have been better to just send Zane. Wait, no. It wasn't. He would "disappear" like Monty if nothing was up there, and really disappear, or he would be torn to shreds if something was there. Monty at least had a protective shell at his disposal.

Nolvic smiled back at Amelia. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to press you for your name, but I appreciate it none the less." Nolvic looked at the ground and muttered to himself. "Fear? As a weakness? Without fear we would charge right into our own demises...fear is important to a point.....if only Angey knew when to be scared." Nolvic gasped out loud without even realizing it. Angey! Nolvic steeled himself and looked at Azleyla's face for a moment. If something happened to her it would be like losing Angey all over again.....I couldn't bare it.

Nolvic was knocked back into reality by Scott's mention of his Umbreon drinking Darrius' blood and his stomache went into a knot. "That's.....I....I can't condone such a thing, it is unwise to do the dead any dishonor, especially in a place such as this..." Nolvic's eyes were wide and he tried not to think of Scott's Umbreon feasting on Darrius' blood to learn what he knew and felt. "Besides....his thoughts and feelings are none of our business.....but if you must, I won't stop you, I just can't be near when it happens.

Having spoken his piece on the matter of Darrius' corpse Nolvic thought about her again, then turned to Korbin and Azleyla. "I would like to go with you guys if that would be alright. I......I have my own reasons for being here and if Mark and Amelia are going upstairs than I can only assume you are going downstairs and.....that's the way I need to go."

Nolvic tried not to show it but now that he had started thinking about Angela his face was twisted into a grimace of extreme sadness, although he did manage to keep his voice from quivering. I will find out what happened if I have to tear down this entire Chateau, and no damn ghosts are going to stop me.....no matter how afraid I may be. Seeker grabbed Snype's hand with his paw and shook it. [It appears that my friend has chosen where he wants to go, and as I have given him my allegiance I must go with him, good luck and may you stay safe.....in fact, you seem very intuitive, so I have a gift for you.] Seeker formed an Aura sphere that let off a warm, secure light. [If you accept this, you will carry some of my Aura with you, that way you will be able to keep track of my group and I yours, and you will be able to feel evil near you, if it is truly spirits we face.]

Mark's eyes widened after hearing Scott mention something about his Umbreon needing to drink Darrius' blood. Mark wasn't sure what to say. He had never heard of such behavior before, Though it is very true that various dark pokemon can absorb emotions and memories, It still felt wrong... even if it could be helpful. Mark just stood in silence. He wasn't sure what to say. Amelia already seemed to be getting a head start. She was already up the stairs. Real brave...

"...Everyone, I'll be checking the upstairs rooms with Amelia." He said, soon looking over to Nick. "You don't seem to be with anybody. Want to tag along with us?" He asked.

Both pokemon had accepted Snype's handshake thankfully. Lucifer probobly still wasn't fond of Snype though. Hopefully that wouldn't effect anyone in the future. Seeker however, began to generate a bright light out of his hand. It was an aura sphere. Seeker had offered to share his aura with Snype, To remain in contact with each other and sense any evil spirits that may lurk nearby.

["...Kehehe... You sure are putting a heavy burden on me buddy. But I accept."] Snype said as the light of the aura faded into his own hand.

["...Rather quick to trust me. I figured most of the pokemon here would hate my guts by now. Heheh. I'll be sure to let Mark know if anything is going on over on your end."] Snype continued.

Mark watched as Seeker made an aura sphere in his hand and appeared to share some of his aura with Snype. At least he was making friends. Mark had almost forgotten about Amelia. She seemed confident enough but these groups were made for a reason after all.

"Snype, Comon partner lets move." Mark said as he began to move up the stairs.

Snype's ears twitched at his masters command. ["Guess I'll be seeing the both of you around eh?"] Snype said to both Lucifer and Seeker. After saying his goodbyes, Snype began to quickly crawl up the stairs on all fours, following Mark. He could hear loud creaking sounds every time Mark took a step on one of the stairs. Loud and annoying... The water left behind by Amelia's Wartortle didn't exactly help it either.

"Amelia? You up here?" Mark quietly called out as he entered the room upstairs. She just so happened to be right next to the door luckily. "Lets try to stay together hmm?" Mark said, Patting Amelia's back lightly. Snype let off his signature grin to Amelia's Wartortle. ["Kehehe. Sounds like I'm not the only prankster around here"] Snype said jokingly.

"Welcome my children. Welcome to the Old Chateau!"

The man in the black suit smiled, revealing rows of plaque-stained teeth. His performance had gone perfectly, and the abomination had played its part well enough… He didn't really need it for anything other than tearing that pitiful creature apart. The man in the suit grimaced. No class. None of the younger spirits had any class. Sure, they knew how to kill something, but did they know how to play with their victims? To break, train, and re-break them? Did they know how to leave a human a weeping, pitiful pile of Jello begging for death? No, of course they didn't. That was his job. He would tear these humans apart slowly, shatter their psyche, fracture their bodies, leave them begging for mercy. And then, after they had been reduced to heaps of quivering flesh, he'd hand them over to the SHADOW, and let their true suffering begin. Giggles began to escape from his lips. Quietly at first, and heightening in volume as his insanity began to take over, the giggles quickly evolved into full blown maniacal laughter. The man in the black suit allowed his voice to echo through the halls, filling the chateau with his dreadful voice once more. A few moments later he cut the laughter off, and straightened abruptly. He had a quota and he needed to fill it. Time to get started. The man in the black suit snapped his fingers, sending out a large cracking noise before fading away and disappearing into the air.

(If you have any ghosts/spirits/demons you want to use/play as that aren't mentioned, or just want to make your own, message me.)

(MaRy eLLeN) (KillehKiwi)
Deep within the halls of the Chateau resides a room of luxury. Heavily decorated with silk and satin, saturated with colors ranging from the calmest white to the bloodiest red. A large bed sits at the end of the room, surrounded by a white shroud. A large record player to the left of the bed begins to play a soft, melancholy tune that seems to convey a great sorrow. Something can be seen stirring behind the curtain. A voice, sweet as candy and deadly as cyanide rings out.

"Oh! Is it really time already? Hmm. I better get moving then!"

A small girl wearing a Victorian-style dress steps out from behind the veil and stretches. Her brown hair falls around her head and shoulders in 'sausage curls.' She opens brown eyes slowly and almost resembles an angel. The record scratches and the music changes to the sound of screaming. The whole image changes. The little girl's smile becomes a smirk, her brown eyes become ringed with a blood red. Her hair becomes slightly tangled and ratty, with twigs and dirt scattered through it. A large blood stain spreads across her dress. The angel has become a devil.

"Time to play….."

Mary Ellen fades out, and the room is left empty and silent once more.

LeX (Strikit)

A loud snapping sound shatters the silence of the cement room. The room is small, plain, and bare. The entire design screams 'torture.' A large shadow seems to cover a corner of the room. The shadowy figure stands, revealing a masculine silhouette. A grin, a flash of white teeth is seen.

"It's time."

The silhouette walks out through the wall, the room goes dark.

ToMmY (Me)

High in the upper level of the Chateau is a room with a TV. It's a small room, obviously intended for guests. The TV turns on, and the rook is quickly filled with the sound of static. The black white and grey pixels fly over the screen in a confused swarm. Behind the static, a dark shape forms. A spiky-haired boy stares out eagerly with a smirk on his face.

"I want to play too…."

The TV cuts off just as quickly as it started and the room is dark once more.

((These are all characters that have been created. The only one I have not yet brought into play is the SHADOW. You'll be thankful. Anyway, if you want a character (Ghost), let me know. I'll write one up for you or let you create your own.))

Angela (Lord Sephear?/KillehKiwi?)

The young woman awakens, confused. Who is she? Where did she come from? Where is she now? She sits up carefully and looks around her. Everything is dark, but she can see perfectly. The woman gets to her feet and begins walking, trying to find somewhere to go. After some time of walking-she can't tell how long it's been, time seems foreign to her right now- she walks out into a large room. There are some people around, but none of them respond to her questions. At last, she sees a young man downstairs. Her eyes wander over his face before pausing over some odd detail. The woman's eyes widen, and a look of recognition passes over them.

"N-No-Nol…."

She trails off, his gaze goes straight through her and she follows it, straight to the woman wearing her face. The young woman gasps and turns back to the young man. She tries to hug him and phases straight through his body.

"Am-am I dead?"

Nick was too scared to look around at this point, and had droned everything out, but slowly his voice got softer and softer until it was a quiet hum, and his Pokemon dispersed around him. He looked around, analyzing the room and its occupants. There were four men and two women, all older than him, as he realized by just height and stature. Now, anyone who saw him would think he was tiny and helpless, but that idea had been shut out along with the timelessness of Eterna Forest. Anyone who could get help--to any degree--needed it. He jumped when someone offered to take him with their group.

"You don't seem to be with anybody. Want to tag along with us?" It was the man who had called himself...ooh, I can't remember his name...Oh! Mark, I think! he thought to himself as the man ran to the stairs. Nick followed slowly and unsurely, his Pokemon not far behind. Nick stopped and turned around right before he stepped up the first step for two reasons; one, the staircase was wet, and two, he wanted to see which of his Pokemon needed to be called back.

Mozart's pupils were smaller than ever, and that was saying something, because they were only about an inch in diameter to begin with. So he had to come back. Nick held out his Pokeball and called him back. One down, one to go. Antsy was nowhere in sight. She would definitely be a threat with her relaxed-ness and her curiosity, so he called out to her. She soon came zooming in and hit Thalia in the back of her head, but not moving her a bit, as if she hardly noticed. Which was probably the case, since Antsy was a Whimsicott, and was made up mostly of cotton. He held out her Pokeball as well, and then Thalia and Da Vinci were left. Nick thought they would be alright to take along outside their Pokeballs. So he grabbed for Thalia's hand and walked up the stairs, slowly and carefully, with Da Vinci not close behind.

They reached the top of the stairs, where Mark and...uhh, Amelia...were standing. Amelia looked mad, Mark looked like he was comforting Amelia, a Wartortle was rolling on the floor, laughing, and Nick inferred that that was closely related to the fact that Amelia was mad. And then there was Snype the Sableye. The one that had looked like he wanted to steal from him. Oh, he remembered that. But the Sableye just looked like he was enjoying a good joke, as the Wartortle was.

Nick actually spoke for the first time since he had entered the Chateau, to Mark and Amelia. "Uh, Mark, I think I'll take you up on your offer. I'm Nick, and this is Thalia, my Gardevoir. The one on the stairs in Da Vinci, but you can just call him Vince." The Marshtomp glared up at him as he waddled up the stairs. "Oh, hush, Da Vinci, I have juristiction over what people call you." Nick chuckled, and let go of Thalia's hand to steady himself. He still couldn't believe that he saw eye to eye, literally, with his first Pokemon. That had to mean something. But she was looking over Mark with obvious loathing as she picked up his feelings and remembered what he said earlier about his...profession. She then looked at Amelia, with a twinkle of curiosity and amazement in her eye as, obviously to Nick, she couldn't pick anything up from her. And when Thalia looked down the stairs once more, she was taken aback, apparently seeing something no one else was seeing, including her trainer. She didn't say anything, verbally or telepathically, but there was obviously something disturbing her about the room below.

"Alright," Amelia replied to Mark, her voice not sounding like any emotion in particular. Monty looked at Snype and grinned. "Tortle!" He sprayed a weak fountain of water directly on Snype's head. "Monty, it's not time for that," Amelia said, looking around. There was nothing in sight, so it was probably better to not keep Monty outside of his pokéball. In the instance that they do somehow separate, Monty's vulnerability would not be helpful. Had he been more independent, the situation would've been better. But who's to complain?

"Monty, return." Monty glowed red and was sucked into his pokéball. Amelia heard somebody ascend the stairs. She quickly looked, and spotted a very small guy walking upstairs with a Gardevoir and a Marshtomp. He introduced himself as Nick, and his Pokémon were known as Thalia and Da Vinci, respectively. "Nice to meet you, Nick!" Amelia said with a smile.

Nick appeared to be very nice, but Amelia didn't want to try and think him to be a pushover, either. She'd realized many times that people aren't what they appear to be. Thalia, the Gardevoir, looked at both Amelia and Mark, and then seemed to see something utterly frightening downstairs. Amelia glanced down where Thalia was looking, but couldn't see anything. Maluu immediately ran next to Thalia and also looked down in the same direction.

There had to be something there, but the others were to be covering that floor. Mark, Nick and Amelia had to search upstairs. "Where should we look first?" Amelia asked, turning toward the hall that led to a few rooms. They had to be bedrooms. The doors were tightly shut, and even seemed stuck to the doorframe. Maybe they had been closed for a long time? Lucifer sat right next to Amelia, his head against her knee.

The yellow rings on his body glowed briefly, as if he had wanted to pounce something again. He wasn't after Snype this time, for he was watching one of the doors intently. "We could easily find traces of blood or something," Amelia started, patting Lucifer's head, "if I call out my Venonat again. Of course, he'll get lost. I don't know if it'd be--" her sentence was cut off as a vase was flung at her arm, and it shattered into trillions pieces.

She tried to scream, but she made no sound. At least she was able to avoid embarrassment. Lucifer's rings glowed again as he leapt forward and immediately looked to his side, as if staring down a target he'd missed. "Umbreon!" Semitransparent, but still noticeable purple vapor, almost as purple as Amelia's bangs, started to flow from Lucifer's skin. An Umbreon only ever releases toxins from its pores if it felt very threatened. Amelia simply watched him in concern, not even noticing the cuts that were formed on her arm. "Lucifer, use..." Amelia couldn't command him very easily, not being able to see the target, and all. Then it hit her.

"Go, pokéball!" she exclaimed, tossing a pokéball. It opened up and released her blue-eyed Venonat, Zane. Amelia just had to take the risk of the rambunctious Venonat running away in search of something more interesting. "Venonat!" Zane said in his echoey, almost robotic sounding voice as blue sparkles shone around his body. "Zane, use Foresight!" Amelia said, excited yet somewhat afraid of what was going to be revealed. "Veno! Veno!" Zane exclaimed, shooting bright red beams from his compound eyes. A demonic looking face flickered, and became clear.

A... Gengar? Amelia was confused. She was pretty sure this place was crawling with once-human ghosts, but she didn't anticipate a Pokémon to appear. This Gengar didn't really look like your average Gengar, though. Its eyes had the veins popping out of them, as if it hadn't slept for a really long time. Ghosts do not sleep, though. The Gengar growled maliciously. This couldn't have been a real Gengar. It had to be some other spirit who'd transformed into a Gengar. Without even receiving another command, Zane shot right at the Gengar with Signal Beam.

Korbin first felt nothing beyond neutrality toward any of the male members of REPO. That is, until Nolvic burned the use of stoicism in stressful situations, with a pointed look in his direction. The seed of aggression was planted in his psyche and his jaw stiffened. In return he focused a pointed look in Nolvic's direction, making it clear that it would be best to attempt to stay on his good side. He would never attempt to worsen a situation that was already grim -- unless someone asked for it.

"Deal with the situation however you must," he vocalized. "As long as we come out alive, I don't care how anyone does it."

He cleared his throat and committed to memory the names, faces, teams, and plans of the others. Though he would likely not remember all of it, it would at least aid in identifying whoever they may come across after separation.

Nolvic's nerve at requesting to come with himself and Leyla set Korbin on edge. He didn't complain, as they could use all the help anyone was willing to offer, but he was far from pleased. "We will be remaining downstairs," he said stiffly. "And we can't possibly keep going back for the slow, so you will have to keep up with the pace."

With that said, he sent out Ignotus so that he could aid in keeping things alight. The little Zorua performed a Thunder Fang when prompted, and his muzzle crackled with static electricity. "We need to get moving. We can't be here longer than necessary."

Mary Ellen circled the group of Pokemon trainers, her eyes were shining will malice, and her face showed interest. She stopped in front of the girl, who was shivering and glancing around nervously. She cocked her head, and gave the Espeon a cheeky smile. Sakura growled, and glared at the girl.

Mary Ellen laughed softly and looked up at the man who was holding the girl. He was rather handsome, and extremely tall. He dwarfed the already short woman next to him.

She had chosen her first victim.

The woman. Azleyla, they called her.

She looked exactly like that Angela.

Mary Ellen smiled softly, and disappeared.

---

Leyla glanced down as the Umbreon, Nox, looked up at her. She smiled weakly, the thought of the innocent Pokemon drinking blood nauseated her. She glanced at Sakura when Nox sat by her, but said nothing.

Leyla was comforted when Nolvic and Scott offered to join her and Korbin's group. The more people, the more comfortable she'd be. She smiled softly at both of them, and then Korbin.

She was quite relieved that she'd be traveling with three guys. Especially somebody as... commanding as Korbin.

"I think so too." she said after Korbin suggested they start moving. "We're rather exposed out there, don't you think?" She tried her hardest not to let her voice shake as she spoke to Korbin and the other males.

She tenatively moved away from Korbin, uncomfortable that he'd been sheltering her for a longer period of time than necessary. Plus, she didn't want to seem weak.

"Let's go."

---

Sakura smiled at Nox as he sat in front of her.

'Hello.' she said quietly to him, before resuming her guard duties.

She spotted a fully formed ghost. Right in front of her. It was a female, and she could tell by the merely slight curves that it was younger than Leyla.

The ghost looked solid, but nobody else seemed to see it. Humans, and their weak eyes.

Sakura growled softly at the apparation, and she grinned cheekily at her. Sakura bared her sharp teeth.

The girl seemed to take an interest in Mistress, and Sakura stiffened defensively. The ghost girl merely glanced, chuckled, and left.

Sakura kept her ears and eyes pricked for anything else, but relaxed slightly as the girl disappeared.

Nick reflected Amelia's smile, and her Espeon went to Thalia's side, apparently seeing exactly what she saw. But that wasn't particularly peculiar at the moment, as a vase flew through the darkness to Amelia's arm, and it shattered with the impact. She seemed weak immediately after, and Nick could tell she couldn't think straight and would be weak for a while. Cuts started to show, and blood soon followed. Her Umbreon, thank Arceus, sprayed toxic vapor from its pores soon after. Nick covered his mouth with his shirt sleeve, and as Amelia sent out her Venonat, Zane, he called forward Thalia. Amelia told Zane, quite forcibly, to use Foresight, and a malevolent, sleep-deprived Gengar's wicked face emerged from the shadows. Luckily, Nick was ready for something like this, and probably would have soiled himself if he wasn't.

"Thalia, use Hypnosis!" he yelled, and the Gardevoir stepped forward and created a small mass of energy that resembled a pocket watch. She moved this up towards the Gengar's ugly face, and waved it. Ghosts and Ghost-type Pokemon didn't sleep, but it looked entranced, a close substitute. "Great, Thalia. Now use Dream Eater!" Nick was determined to show what he and his Pokemon could do. Thalia closed her eyes and pressed her hand against the Gengar's forehead, and little bubbles came out of its eyes. Each of them held something it was dreaming about. But what was inside of them was to the boy and his Pokemon's horror.

Gengar was having a nightmare, probably purposefully, and the bubbles, if Thalia consumed them, would damage her. "Thalia!" Nick screamed, "stop! It's having a nightmare!" Thalia took her hand off of the Ghost Pokemon's forehead, and the pocket watch disappeared. The bubbles, right in front of Thalia's now-open eyes, popped, and there was a little shriek with each POP! The Gengar seemed to have snapped out of its trance, and flung a Shadow Punch at Thalia. She was launched into the wall, and fell down the stairs. She picked herself up quickly, and used a Psychic to both lift herself up and to wreck the Gengar's brain. She looked hurt, though. As Thalia levitated up the stairs, the Gengar struggled with the Psychic Thalia was loosing upon it. When she reached the top of the stairs, she removed the part of the Psychic she was using to lift herself up off of herself and used it to generate a Shadow Ball, which she threw at the Gengar. Just as the Psychic loosened and dissipated, the Shadow Ball blew Gengar away, and it was surely down for the count.

But Thalia didn't look so good. She had fallen with the effort of the last move, and was sprawled, face-down, on the floor. Nick kneeled before his Pokemon, tears welling up in his eyes, and lifted her head. Da Vinci had removed himself from the shadows concealing him and plopped on the floor in front of them, himself also crying. What Nick saw next was unbelievable. Thalia was breathing, very shallowly, but still breathing. He sighed a big sigh, and flipped Thalia onto her back, with some effort. He looked at her closed eyes, and hoped she would feel better soon, because the scaredy-cat Mozart would have to take her place. Nick let a tear escape his eye and fall onto his Pokemon, and he took out her Pokeball.

"Sweet dreams, my dear Gardevoir," he whispered into her ear, and sent her inside the Pokeball. But he decided against sending out Mozart the Magneton, because Da Vinci would be enough, and he wanted to keep a minimal number of his Pokemon for being killed or maimed during this horrible experience. He got up, brushed himself off, and wiped his eyes. "Well, guys," Nick said in a trembling, child's voice, "where shall we go next?" He looked around, and remembered Amelia's arm. "Oh, I know someone perfect for that," he said quietly as he took out Antsy's Pokeball. "Go," he whispered, and the Whimsicott appeared at his feet. "Antsy, Substitute, but stay here," he said, half laughing at the second part. He ripped some cotton off of the pile Antsy had made and put it on Amelia's cuts. "Now use Leech Seed on it." Antsy did as told, and then saw where Nick was going. She deactivated the harmful offensive power and gave the thin, sickly vines and seeds to Nick, whom tied them around Amelia's cotton.

"It'll stop the bleeding, and if Thalia were up to it we could do more, but this'll do for now," he said to Amelia. Then he slumped against the wall and sighed. "Hey," he said, halfheartedly and hesitantly, "are either of you as scared as I am?" And on the last word something weird happened; Nick's voice cracked, dropping an octave. He felt his throat and massaged it, thinking it was a cold. But he remembered what his mother had told him only once what was supposed to happen at least three years ago. He was astounded. "Why, of all times, now? Why in this stupid, haunted place?" He banged the floor with his fist, and screamed in his head, but kept the astonishment on his face. He had to maintain some cool, right?

Nolvic watched Mark's group leave up the stairs. Good luck, I hope the next time our groups meet you are all still well. Nolvic was disappointed when Korbin glared at him for his comment on Stoicism but would not let him think that just because he was so large he could intimidate him and returned his glare with an apologetic but determined gaze. Great, I've already bothered someone, apparently I'm as bad with first impressions as that Sableye. At that moment, a chill traveled down Nolvic's spine and he felt something...very malicious, he looked around to try and see what it was, but to no avail. When Korbin and Leyla both said that they should probably get going Nolvic nodded his head. "Yes, let's."

Seeker bared his fangs and his hair stood on end as one of the spirits inhabiting the Chateau surveyed the group, it looked like a little girl, she had a sort of sweet appearance but....Seeker could feel the Malice in her aura. Seeker noticed that the girl's Espeon had reacted too. [Did you see it as well? It felt....evil.]

Angela stayed near the group of trainers, everything from before the Chateau was fuzzy.....but she recognized one of the men, he was...important to her, but why? And what was his name? No....No what? And the girl...she had Angela's face down to practically every last detail...except her eyes, they were green as opposed to Angela's icy blues.

Seeker froze up, there was another spiritual presence but this one was warm and pleasant. Seeker looked at it closely......it looked much like the female in his trainer's group but that was impossible, she was right there next to the large man...Seeker decided he would continue to watch the spirit for the moment.

Mark's eyes widened once the vase had smashed into Amelia's arm. Mark was about to help both her and Nick fight off the Gengar that Amelia's Venonat discovered but he suddenly froze and spaced out. He could feel a chilling presence on his neck. Something was nearby... Meanwhile Snype jumped in to assist in the battle with Gengar. While Nick's pokemon did alot of the work, He tried his best to assist in however he possibly could. Mark stayed in a trance during the whole battle though. Something was keeping him from moving.

"mmm... why hello there" A distorted female teenage voice said in Mark's head "You and your friends haven't been acquainted with the family yet so allow me. I'm Reina. One of the many souls that has been trapped in this building." She said as mark spectated the battle. "Lucky you. You seem to have wandered near my territory. Visitors are very rare but you all seem to be a big crowd. A perfect audience. I happen to be quite the singer you know..."

The girl didn't sound to threatening. Just creepy. A song? How was that going to hurt anybody? The spirits were bound to have many deadly tricks but... a song?

"...I know what your thinking. That Weezing... that bomb in your pocket. You plan to demolish the building in order to escape don't you? Unfortunately for you, I'm here to make sure that doesn't happen. Try a stunt like that, and I'll be sure to kill you on the spot." Reina continued. Mark shivered. How did she know of this? Mark didn't want to believe her but... he didn't want to take chances either. Either way, There goes his door to freedom. "...How about we play a game hmm?" She concluded, her voice fading away.

During the whole conversation, The battle had already been finished. The gengar had been taken out and Nick was already treating Amelia's wound. Snype walked up to mark and pulled on his pants lightly, concerned about what was wrong.

"O...oh! S...Snype... Sorry but... did any of you hear that voice at all?" He asked everyone. Mark didn't want to tell anybody about his Weezing, Or the fact it was packed with explosion. He didn't want to make risks, now that this ghost had a knife at his throat. Snype shook his head. He hadn't heard a thing.

(Reina was one of my old ghost NPC's from the last RP. I'll try getting her a bit more involved, as well as make a Bio to explain her a bit)

Soon after the Gengar was struck by Zane's Signal Beam, Nick commanded his Gardevoir to attack with Hypnosis, and the Gengar immediately became entranced. Thalia threw attacks at it, and it retaliated. Amelia watched in awe, impressed with Nick's overall skill as a trainer.

She turned and looked at Maluu, who continued to stare where Thalia had first seen something. Maluu seemed to have a thing for staring here, as she did it quite a lot. That is to say, this place was obviously crawling with spirits. But… why were they all here? Is it possible that they all somehow died here? They just happened to all die here? Or maybe some died earlier than all the others, and then they killed people who visited their angry, demented souls.

This whole sequence could've kept going, until the place was basically a haunted spirit inn, just without the arcade and room service. Whatever the reason, it was pretty damn screwed up. Amelia turned back to the battle and saw Nick recall his Gardevoir. He seemed sad and whispered something to the pokéball. Amelia scanned the room, but the purple devil was nowhere to be seen.

"Well, guys," Nick said with a trembling voice, "where shall we go next?" Amelia looked at him blankly, and her eyes wandered to the walls. The pretty wallpaper was peeling and there was a picture of an old woman… her eyes followed suit and wandered also…

"Oh, I know someone perfect for that," Nick whispered, sudden enough to shake Amelia back to reality. Nick called out his Whimsicott, and with Substitute and Leech Seed, made a sort of gauze for Amelia's wounds.
"Thank you!" Amelia replied sincerely, and flinched at her own loud response. She was supposed to keep quiet, and again her loud mouth forgot. Nick asked whether everyone else was as scared as he. His voice cracked at the last part, but Amelia thought nothing of it.

"Well I, for one--" Amelia started to say, getting interrupted by Lucifer peeing on her shoes. "…Nooooooo Luce, why??" She wanted to take back her thought from earlier, but it was pointless anyway. "You had to do it here, buddy." Great. Bloody, pissed-on shoes. The new bright white ones.

"O...oh! S...Snype... Sorry but... did any of you hear that voice at all?" Mark suddenly asked from behind. Amelia turned to him. "A voice? No," she replied. Lucifer blinked his large red eyes and looked at Snype. His eyes narrowed and shifted to Maluu, who, apparently not seeing the ghostly phenomena anymore, was licking her paws. Amelia thought for a moment. It seemed as if everyone was starting to hear the ghosts, and all she got was a slicing. She wanted to hear them too, so why not look for them now?

"So… guys…" Amelia walked toward one of the doors, placing her hands on it as if she were using some sort of power to open it. "should we try to get inside one of these rooms?" She gave it a weak push, and it obviously did not budge. She kicked it several times, but all it did was open a small crack. Maluu scurried over and sat right in front of the door, blinking at it.

"Please?" Amelia asked simply. "Espe!" Maluu seemed to say with a growl while she used her psychic power to force the door open, as if she was releasing anger by using her power. The door protested with a long creak, and opened to a room with a small bed in the middle, and an old bulb that was strangely on. Dustox fluttered and danced by the bulb, phased by nothing else. Their world, so carefree, so long as there was a light. Amelia envied them. Even in the worst of times, these Pokémons' only priority, in all of darkness, was to find the light. Amelia needed to find her light, too. We all need to find the light, and stray from the darkness.

"Well, there are only Pokémon in this room," Amelia said in disappointment. Lucifer and Maluu both stood up at once and went into the room, gazing around. Amelia followed, despite being disappointed. She was to trust her Pokémon if she wanted to make it out of here alive.
