The Ascension move allows a player to evolve their active pokemon into their next proper stage. Would I be allowed to use that move during the same turn I evolved that same pokemon?
    - For example: I evolve Wurmple into Silcoon (Platinum) then use Silcoon's Ascension attack to evolve it into Beautifly.

I believe it works as a normal evolution, so I'm not sure if it can attack the same turn. I'll find out, but I'm about 95% certain that you cannot attack after using that move.

You did a natural evolve which is part of the game, so when you use the move it is a EFFECT of a attack that is allowing you to evolve.
The only way you wouldn't be able to do this is if the opponent plays a card or the effect of another pokemon doesn't allow you to evolve.
Like Aerodactyl GL, but enough of my rant.
But you are not allowed to attack twice soooooo no, you can't do the move of the next evolved pokemobn until your next turn.

Alright thanks for clearing that up for me. And yeah I knew you had to wait to attack with the newly evolved pokemon, lol. :)
