Ash is to arrogant and hothead to win and yes evolved pokemon's are need to win a pokemon league and Ash's only fully evolved was charizard, kingler, sceptile and a few others he let go and stuff and muk his johto adventure only evolved pokemon was bayleaf, either Ash likes baby type pokemon or doesn't fully understand how powerful evolved pokemon are.

True, he has won the Orange League, but that wasn't too big of a deal. He did win, but have the Pokemon on his team either didn't evolve, or aren't evolved. Ash believes in not having strong, over-buff Pokemon are needed to win. Sure, they are powerful that way, but the fact that he uses them un-evolved makes him a true Pokemon trainer.
Though, I might think he will win the Sinnoh League. His rival, Paul, is a pretty powerful trainer. I have a feeling that those two will have to duke it out in the final round. What a match that will be, especially since in the earlier leagues, he has been proving himself to be a better trainer. Explanation:

Indigo- Loss was a fluke, top 16.
Johto- Made it to the Top 8, Charizard tuckered out from Blastoise Battle.
Hoenn- Top 8, showed more zeal during battle than in previous leagues.

If he doesn't win this League, then he will at least make it to the Top 4. We will just have to see :x

Tell that to Drake and his Dragonite. Sure, Ash didn't have to battle as many trainers to make it to the top, but a league victory is a league victory.

Concerning more conventional leagues, yes, he's gotten better, which, to disagree with BugUser, shows that he's growing as a character to the point where he's getting past arrogance and on to becoming a mature, capable trainer. (He is, for example, using more strategy than he has in past leagues, particularly Kanto's the first time through.)

I think Ash has the potential to win the Sinnoh League. I just hope he can discover a way of using his potential to its full extent. If he combines both pokemon battle moves with contest moves he might be able to win. I really hope he does win.

The day Ash wins is when pokemon is over.
No it's not...he won the Orange League and Pokemon is still going on. xD Just because he wins one league doesn't mean he can't compete in another regions league.
I'm not sure if he will beat the Sinnoh League...but I think he definentaly has a chance!

Like I said before, he has a high chance of winning the Sinnoh League, in agreeing with everyone else. After all, the fact that how powerful Paul is, he is definitely going to make it far into the Sinnoh League.

Super Smash Kid: Compare his previous battles in the Leagues to the ones now. Pay close attention to battle styles, and strategy. You will see the evidence that can prove that he might be able to win in this years Pokemon League.

Along with that, to all the people saying he will lose, compare how the Sinnoh Gym leaders are compared to those of other Regions. You will see that strong Pokemon are needed to win against these guys. How do you get stronger Pokemon? Strategy, skill, and training.

I dont know how Ash can beat that Garchomp.

He is battling in the Pokemon League, not the Elite 4.

Which tournaments? The thread is about Ash winning the Pokemon LEAGUE, so I assumed that's what you were talking about.

After Ash gets all 8 badges he goes to a tournament. Like the one when Ash beats Morrison, but then loses to Tyson and Tyson ends up winning.

I watched the DP episode An Elite Meet and Greet (I think that was it's name) yesterday and they introduced an Elite Four member, who for the first time in the whole series tells Ash something about a champions league only for top trainers and even describes it's rules. But Ash can only battle in this champions league if he first wins a normal league. So I think there is a good chance that Ash wins in Sinnoh and then battles Sinnoh's Elite Four to become a Top Trainer in Sinnoh. Why would they introduce us to a league and it's members and even explain it's rules if they were not going to do something with it later?

Ash gets eight badges eventually and then he loses in the pokemon league, god he is terrible. But if he could evolve all his pokemon to their best and trained well he would win but the way he is going, he is not doing to good.
