Ash's Tauros herd

I would Say it is the hered leader cause prof oak would send ash his most powerful Tauros

I agree, because everyime Ash sees Tauros, it happily greets him as if they were long lost friends. I doubt a stranger would greet someone that way...

actually, that tauros is surprisingly strong for one who has not been trained at all... and yet it has won some incredible battles... there can only be one explanation.

All the Tauros did the Fusion Dance and combined into one... Super Tauros.

Tauros' power comes from it's speed... It spends all it's time running around Oak's backyard, you do the math :P

I would have to agree with the herd leader theory, it only makes sense, Ash didn't use Tauros until the Indigo league, and he caught the Tauros herd in the Safari Zone. So Oak had enough time to observe the herd and find out exactly which Tauros was the leader.

Or at least that's my theory.

Im not so sure.. I belive it is the same and as said the leader of the herd, but you cant be posotive. xD

I would say it's the same one. My guess is that it got as strong as it did from fighting for its spot as leader. I'm sure the Tauros fight amongst themselves all the time, and as said before they spend all their time running around.

The running around increases the Tauros's speed, but what about it's strength and defences?

Like I said... it's POWER comes from it's speed.

All of Ash's Tauros' move except Fissure involve ramming into the enemy. The faster he goes, the harder it hits. :P

I guess this could be true.

I also guess that they learn Fissue from how hard they stomp to the ground?

but why in the world did Ash catch all those tauros anywayz?

but for me, I would think it would be the leader of the herd like stated many times before...though this was a very neat topic, never actually thought about it before...

Yeah it is kinda weird to catch so many of the same (fairly rare btw) pokemon, especially if he hardly ever uses them.

I would say that he uses the leader of the herd, but I recall him catching 30 completely random Tauros, so I'm not 100% sure it was originally from just one herd (if I'm wrong, please correct me, I didn't actually gain anything from the dialogue alone, all I know is he caught 30 tauros, the warden shot team rocket, and Ash got saved by a Dratini while trying to get a bomb out of the water), but none the less, I still think he uses one Tauros again and again and again (and then I don't know what happened, he got some "new region only" complex and left it behind).

**Note: If it's in parenthases, it doesn't need to be discussed beyond this post.

For those who keep asking: He didn't purposely catch them.

He kept throwing Safari Balls at pokemon, and right when it was gonna hit the pokemon, the Tauros Herd ran by and it hit one of them :P

The episode was banned, so that's probably why you didn't know XD
