Assigning a certain pokémon a special tag.

    Would it be possible to assign a certain pokémon (the starter) a special tag that would define them as a starter, kind of like the Pikachu from Yellow?

    Yep. The same way as Pokémon have a shinyflag tag - have a look to see how that works, and copy it. Only set it to true for the starter.

    What you do with that information is a separate matter.
