[Other] Attack Editor Issues

I edited a move previously using a-tack, and saved the ROM and everything. Now, when I tried to change it again, A-tack gives me the error "Run-time error '380': Invalid property value", and immediately crashes and closes. This error occurs as soon as the attack is selected, so it doesn't have to do with what the specs are being changed to.

I saw that A-tack can be unreliable on 64-bit Win 7, so I downloaded Attack Editor Professional, but it has the same problem. More confusingly, though, the attack comes up with the wrong information before crashing (with the same error message as A-Tack).

I can't post a screenshot until I've been here longer, so I've posted a screenshot via a text link, below. For reference, the spell is supposed to be a psychic-type hyper beam. I don't know why it's showing up as a flying type attack. (And the original attack modified was mud sport, for reference, so the effect and type are wrong even for that).

Is there a solution for this, or am I just going to need to scrap my ROM and start the hack over? And is this a serious problem with A-tack/AEP, or should it work fine on a fresh ROM?

    Thanks!

It's a bug in A-tack. Don't use that program, use Attack Editor Pro for simple editing or download Pokemon Game Editor for more advanced editing (if you plan to expand the move table etc.)

If you open the same move in Attack Editor Pro and edit it, the issue should be resolved

That's the problem: as I said, it is happening in AEP as well (and shown in the screen shot).

Given I haven't done that much on the ROM yet overall, I'm thinking it'll probably be more efficient to just start over, using AEP from the start. Though I will also look into Pokemon Game Editor, thanks for the heads up on that.

Get PGE from Gamer2020 or G3T from Kurapika. I cannot provide a link for PGE but G3T is found in the tools section here :D

Thanks for the info! I still think I like YAPE better for pkmn editing, but this GT3 moves editor looks a lot better than either one I was using before!

YAPE? That's no longer good bro XD
You could try PGE or G3HS, which even allows you to expand the number of pokemon in Fire Red. YAPE doesn't have much support for things like repointed movesets.. It would be better to go with G3HS :)

I'll look into it, then. One of the things I like about YAPE so far is the pokedex editing capabilities. I'm working on a full-conversion hack atm, so the ability to change that's really helpful. It also helps that I'm converting pokemon, rather than adding them, for this particular hack.

G3HS and PGE allow you to change Pokedex info as well :D
    But it's your choice :)

Ok, I'll definitely check it out. It just said in the G3T description that it specifically didn't, and the screenshot didn't look like it had it, but it might have been updated or w/e.

Gen 3 Hacking suite has it. That's the one that you can use to add more pokemon to your fire red rom and a lot of other stuff. It's like YAPE but better. G3T has a lot of cool stuff like a trainer editor, moves editor, and more.

Aye. I was definitely looking forward to playing with it's attack/trainer editors, especially. And of course, the anti-Exploud will probably be of great use towards the end :P
