Which is why it suits Green Day so perfectly...

Yeah they had good songs...two...good songs...but then all the emo kids worshipping them like they were the only band that understood them >_>

ouch that burned
Emo? Hah. Green Day is as far away from Emo as possible. I'll tell you why everyone hates them now: Teenies AKA preps...No not emo people, just idiots who worship Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and don't even know Green Day was existent for 16 years in the past.

This happens alot in the music industry, not really much that can be done about it.

Everyone knows Green Day exist for 17-and-so-on years, but theirs first musics were VERY diferent from the ones they play now. 17 years ago they played Rock, now they play Pop Emo.

Ok, to talk about another thing...
I like to listen BGMs. Game BGMs. Yes, that stupid techno-sounded-not-real-music things.

*sigh* The problem with everyone who labels bands as "Over-Rated" only base it on what is now. Why not go back 16 years, when Green Day wasn't even signed to a mainstream label? They were completely Punk Underground...

hey everyone i'm back.

el still obsessed with green day (me too ;))

yeah when they were still playing berkley and stuff they were still 'underground'. they aren't anymore. they've integreated them selves (seamlessly might i add) into the poppunk scene. And it works for gd.

And to the person who said 17 years ago their music was alot different, well yeah...they've grown up and play more than the same two powerchords. not that Smoothed out slappy hours sucks (one of my favorite albums) American Idiot is more musically sound, though not as 'raw' as the 'hardcore kids' like.

Green Days songs okay, the lyrics are nice, but they're no where near as good as people make them sound. Like Gian said, they're only good for commercial music. Ever since they made the American Idiot song people have been treating them like they're gods. And more then half of the so called "fans" are posers who have only heard a couple of songs, they think they're cool if they like Green Day.

Probably will put in my sig anytime soon~

My response:

People are basing this sheerly off of the radio, and I don't think it's fair. Okay sure, I think Boulevard of Broken Dreams is overplayed and constantly just given way too much credit. I think this is one of the main reasons that they've been labelled "Over-rated". But it's not their fault. Don't go blaming them for that...in fact I bet none of you ever even heard the whole CD, so it disgusts me that you all just automatically assume that they're overrated. You never gave them a chance.

In fact, my father makes me listen to that CD every [insert f word]ing time I go to school. Sorry Eli, but this time you've got no reason.

Funny how you all seem to be teaming up on me...
Or...
Or am I just paranoid...

Sorry couldn't resist posting lyrics. o_O;
Probably being too paranoid but whatever.

Anyways, I still think you aren't giving the music a chance. It's only the 2nd Rock Opera in existance. If you tried understanding what they're saying it's a lot better...I think they risked their publicity by releasing that album because it's so political. The Dixie Chicks got in huge trouble from it...they were taking a really large risk, so I have a great deal of respect for it.

We are not teaming up. I dont recieve PMs since February, Im Offline at MSN. Our opinions seems just to be almost, if not equally, the same. We dont like the band, you do, we are just saying what we think about it, exactly like you. Im Sorry if I offended you, it was certainly not what I was wanting to do.

Good morning everyone, it's 6:40 AM and I am wide awake!

It's allright...I'm already used to it...I think after 8 months of getting yelled at for liking something it kind of just doesn't bother you anymore. No offense taken...

I don't see how it could annoy you. They're virtually indestructable... Until you get a sledge hammer. XD
