... I still think you're crazy for liking Rei, though. She's Yui Ikari's reincarnate for crying out loud! And those things weren't Rei clones, they were empty soulless Rei body shells for Rei to enter should she die, and also the core of the Dummy Plug....Sure, she's an important character, but still...

Rei would be perfectly normal given different circumstances; I absolutely adore the alternate version of her in the last episode. As for Rei herself, her body is Yui Ikari's, but her soul was her own, and she definitely proved not to be emotionless throughout the series; just very reserved because she's already so scarred and feels so purposeless that she has nearly-impenetrable shields. I think I find her more attractive than Asuka now...

I remember that little part where Shinji said that one thing remined him of his mom, and then she blushed.

Tonight's Naruto will be a really great one. Naruto and Sasuke fight Rock Lee, Lee's senshi makes his first appearence, and we get reintroduced to the other rookie Genins.

Yeah, I know. It seems awesome, ML....

CK, I thought Rei was simply Gendo's attempt to bring Yui back, soul and all. Never did figure out where she got her original body, but it was apparantly cloned repeatedly... The Rei clones scare me...

And Rei isn't scarred, she's just always been like that. Remember, the worst things that have happened to her(in chronological order) were getting choked by Ritsuko's mom, the Unit-00 Activation Test(where Gendo burnt his hands to save her), and its repeat(this time with Shinji saving her)...
And Rei was still the same before even getting strangeled, except not as quiet and really mean(hence her calling Ritsuko's mom an "old hag", and henceforth, getting the first of her many bodies killed)...

So while Shinji and Asuka were had reasons to be all emo(Asuka being her mom hung herself and before that treated some doll as the real Asuka; and Shinji being neglected by his dad, and his mom being killed in the 2nd Impact), Rei, from what I observed, simply suffered from having no real mother and not being tought what her emotions are or how to deal with them...

EDIT: I just thought of something htat seems kinda weird... you guys are 19 and 18, yet both like girls from Eva who are 14 and ML likes Misty, who's 11...creepy...

Yeah..unlike me...if Misty and teh NGE characters were real.. and they like...perved on them like they do now...they'd so get arrested..XD

That didn't come across as senseful in my mind..o_O

Most anime characters are given an age that doesn't correlate to their physical appearance because it allows for a younger audience to identify with the character...it's all business. In a world without this type of subtle marketing, these people would be 16-18+ =/

I never denied that Gendo was trying to get a more perfect version of Yui; there's definitely been genetic enhancement because of the definite differences between Yui and Rei; i.e. brown hair and eyes versus blue hair and red eyes. Odds are changes were needed to make her more synchronous with the Evangelion and the dummy plug.

About Rei's scarring, it's obvious from the series that questions surrounding her own existence are always at the forefront in her mind; I see no reason why someone as unfeeling as Gendo would keep from her at any age that she is a clone and a tool, and her dehumanization from an early age is what had drained her of almost all of her emotion.

May is the perfect example of what I'm talking about, ML. She's officially ten for the sole purpose of attracting 9-12 year olds (the tween demographic) to the show; otherwise, physically she looks fifteen or so.

*pops in*

May's cute~ I just don't agree on her age.

What are those two red pokey things on her head? XD *hasn't seen the movie*

In my professional opinion, I'd say they're receptors that take in the ultraviolet radiation of the sun and beam the stored energy out at will, instantly vaporizing all in her way.

XDDDDD

Actually, while May is, shall I say younger than she looks, the other characters(not just pokemon, but all mentioned before), look mostly their age. For example, the Eva pilots seem like their age, except for some things. Like, for example, Shinji looks normal, and Asuka does too except for...well...nevermind. My point is, most characters in animes I've seen seem their age, just not all...

EDIT: Also, I think the animators only made May physically older so that they wouldn't have to worry about her freaking out about puberty starting o.o

Nah, it's just a cute red bow she's wearing in her hair.^_^

Both that pic of her in the princess dress, and the pic of her in the bikini with Bonsly on top of the car are from the eighth movie.

Of course, if Misty was in the eighth movie, I would of loved to see her in a really pretty dress with her hair down in that scene.<3

I'm not saying the eighth movie's bad because she's not in it, though.

Of course, I'm wondering when the dub verson will come out. I know it takes a while to dub stuff.

Also, I thought May also looked really cute with the hairdo she has in the dancing scene in the movie. It also helps make her look her age too.

Here's the Pokesho icon of her with that cute hairdo.

The eva pilots are accurate for their age, definitely, both mentally and physically. Asuka is just the way she is to be fanservy, but, then again, so is May @_@ As far as the ages of the other pok?mon characters go on sight (not officially), I always saw Ash as 12, Misty as 16, Brock as 22, and TR in the ballpark of 25-28. I've always thought that the people who think that Ash is 10, Misty is 12, Brock is 15, and TR are 17-18 are completely insane; we already take so many liberites in our imaginations with the story as it is that we'd might as well make up appropriate ages.

The animators have never worried about the characters...erm...growing up; they've looked the same since season one, clothing changes aside.

ML: Eighth movie, eh?...admittedly I'm disappointed they still didn't bring Misty back for it.

It's the one with Mew and Rucario. It came out last summer in Japan, of course.

Well, I've always thought that Misty was a preteen/teen girl at the beginning of the series. It makes more sense then saying that she was the same age as Ash at the beginning of the series.

Speaking of May........

Rather famous scene from the first episode on Dewford Island.

Got a classic Misty pic to show.

That scene was edited out of the English version, right? Almost nobody over ten would do that so shamelessly.....and I found it kind of odd that she was already wearing her beach clothes under that o_O;

Great Misty image, though, as always...

Sometimes my Aunt Darla(she's in college now; 18 years old) does that... Last summer, before she headed off to college, we would go to her apartments' pool. She'd simply take off her normal clothes when she wanted to swim, since her swimsuit was under them...

My Aunt Darla's weird. She's so much like the stereotypical prep it's not even funny, except she's one of the most popular girls in school, always knows what's "in", and gets twirling awards a bunch. There are at least 50, no exaggerations.

Actully, I've seen that episode in both English and Japanese. It's in both versons.

The scene in the English verson......

May:The ocean! Let's go swimming![May starts taking off her clothes]
Max:Hold on May! Not here! You can't change your clothes on the beach![as he's saying this, they show the shot of her shirt, bike shorts, the white thing she wears around her bike shorts, her yellow fannypack and her red bandana falling on the ground]
[The camera then goes back to show May, who turns around to reveal her cute new bikini]
May: Don't worry. Good grief. My bathing suit's on under my clothes! Not bad. Another great suit, huh?[May then does a really cute pose. Both Ash and Max are sweatdroping as she was talking]
[Ash and Max both respond]
Max:Oh boy......

I saw this episode in Japanese first many months before I saw it on Kids WB. I am surprized they kept that part in. I thought they would of edited that part. It does seem like a part they would of edited out, because of the fact that she takes off her clothes right in front of the boys. Though, she was wearing a swimsuit underneath, so I guess the scene passed because of that.

Though I'd probully be blushing a blush alot if Misty was there and if she did that. Though, Misty is more mature then her, so she probully wouldn't do that.

Many teenage girls do wear their swimsuits under their clothes when they go to the beach or the pool. I have no problem with that, since they are teenagers.
