Do you like the types they've chosen for the E4 and Gyms? Do you find some of them repetitive and/or unoriginal, or unique and a standout from the previous ones? What's your least favorite and favorite Gym/E4 type?

Personally I don't really like the types... and for Striaton Gym, I think they should've done a triple battle, but that's just me. I love the return of the Flying Type in Skyla's Gym.

All of the Elite Four's types have been used before in past generations... why didn't they mix it up and do a Electric, Flying, Grass, Rock, or Normal Elite Four?

Shauntal (Ghost) - Pheobe of Hoenn
Grimsley (Dark) - Sidney of Hoenn and Karen of Indigo Plateau
Caitlin (Psychic) - Will of Indigo Plateau and Lucian of Sinnoh
Marshal (Fighting) - Bruno of Indigo Plateau

I think they should have tried some less used types like Water (E4 wise), Electric, Bug, Steel, etc for E4 members but they did pick a nice batch here with Types that inflict Super effective Damage on one another
    Psychic < Ghost
    Psychic < Dark
    Psychic > Fighting
    Ghost < Dark
    Ghost is immune to Fighting
    Fighting > Dark

Personally, My Rosters would be this on the 1st run v

    Spoiler:
It allows a better filling of the dex, and a wider GTS search range. N obviously having the r@m as his 6th pokemon.

Main Changes allow a bit of diversity, since enemy trainers know the secrets of early evolution.

I thought about that but i think they were limited with pokemon chocies, at least in the case of water types, i mean in my opinion there are not enough good water types make an eliet four team

Which is why when the English R0m get's leaked, before I play it, I'm going to edit the Important People battles with that Trainer Edit tool.

Also, Cheren should have a Dwebble (He even purposely backtracked to route 4 from the Nimbasa Gate to catch more Pokemon in the Desert). And Bianca should have a Klink, since she's Juniper's 'Body Gaurd/Assistant' at the cave, and would've caught one for research.

Meh, I'm used to this kind of typing. But I really like it on how the E4 cancels each other; Ghost -> Dark -> Fighting -> Psychic -> Bug (Alder).

But yeah, for the Gym leaders, I'm disappointed that no Dark-type Gym Leader. ;(

Just going to add in that although we don't directly have a thread discussing the typings, we do have a thread on the elite four in general, which includes discussion about typings. For that reason, it'd be best if the elite four was kept to its discussion thread for it. As for Gym Leaders, their typings/Pokemon they have are free to be discussed here (and only mention Elite Four if it relates back to Gym Leaders typings, kay? :D)

Anyway, I have no real issues with the typings for the gyms, though I think having a dark gym would've proved how B/W is "changing" all the past traditions and starting off with a dark gym (as people speculated on and was just mentioned), rather it being covered in the Elite Four. At least fire, grass and water is all covered at once, though :)

They could've made Dark as the last gym. But otherwise, I'm happy with the current Gym/ E4 lineup. Cilan, Chili and Cress should've had something in their teams in place of Lillipup.

Yeah I don't seem to mind the gym leaders, I've always waited to see if a 'various' gym came into the equation.
If you get what I mean, that has a mix of strong typings and of-course evolutions.

i like the gym typings, there fun and challenging plus the designs are amazing

I'd disagree with starting with a dark-type gym but I would have liked to have seen one anyway. Oh well.

On the topic of the gyms themselves... I was actually a bit disappointed with some to a degree. Sure - they all look very nice and all, but the puzzles are for the most part very easy and linear so they don't really require much thought at all and end up more as eye candy than anything. (Although those playing the Japanese versions without knowing Japanese would know the 2nd gym's puzzle is annoying =p). For instance the Ice Gym looks really nice and all and has a nice change in the way you slide about (curved paths!) but it was the easiest ice puzzle I ever did by far - they even had arrow-shaped blocks to show you where to go which was a bit lame. [/rant]

That said the last gym's puzzle did not follow the norm which was nice, and it was a neat puzzle at that too visually.

When I first heard of triple battles, I thought that the first gym would have had one because it had three gym leaders. I was pretty disappointed to know that it wasn't the case. But come to think of it, where would any trainer get three decent Pokemon right at the beginning of the game. XD

    They should have had this gym somewhere later in the game, I would have loved to have a gym battle with this new battle style which was introduced. ;;

Blah. I want gym rematches. It would be nice to see Cilan/Chili/Cress with a full team.

3 pokemon for the last gym? Really? At least Haxorus gets in there.

Elesa can do better than 2 Emolgas and a Zebstrika.

    Etc.

For the record, I made my changes, and they have been awsome! The Dex expands faster now!

And I made it so N allway's packed a Zorua!
