AK - the master of all Rifles, M16 is nah.

Surely as long as it kills the other guy it's good enough? xD

I've always been more fond of bladed weapons in games, personally...guns don't leave much room to the imagination a lot of the time, they either fire bullets, lasers, or explosives. Bladed weapons have a lot of different designs and playing styles and are just generally more fun to use. Which is paradoxical for me, because you'd think as someone who always goes with the mage or the archer I'd enjoy shooting things. Guess it's just my aversion for anything but fantasy showing =P

Anyways, I'd rather have the FAMAS from Metal Gear Solid. When the time for sneaking was over, it was time to break that out.

Metal Gear's FAMAS. Its funny. MGS was the game that i heard about the FA-MAS. Then again, aiming firearms (and sniping, and basically anything) in the original MGS was sorta aids compared to the other games. And then some people complained in Twin Snakes that the Sniper Wolf boss fights in that iteration of the game was 3EAZEE because of the refined aiming system. LEL Because they felt emotionally attached to her... Because she was an antagonist that was trivialized because of better gameplay mechanics... *plays my tiny violin to all those who got attached to a villain that deserved a shot to the head for shooting Meryl*

Then again, in the original MGS, i was also a cheapskate by using Nikitas to finally end Sniper byatch so i guess I'm just as bad. Then again, Sniper Wolf knew that rockets were coming her way for being a sexist fem and for almost ruining my childhood in the first encounter where i literally rage quitted on my PSX for a night. "Dontchu go sexist on me! I'll sexualize your face with MISSILES! SEE HOW YOU HANDLE THAT S**T!" I said, in my messed up head.

Actually, i don't know what the f I'm talking about. After killing Sniper beech, i actually felt bad, or sort of. Its was one of those moments where i actually felt pity, remorse, emotion, and whatever, after i spent minutes rage screaming like a beast.

Ever since then, I read about REEL WURLD Firearms. I have MGS, Syphon Filter, and obviously Counter Strike being all part of my childhood to thank.

This makes me happy in the pants

Spoiler:

Actually this is making me even happier in the pants which is why this vid deserves to be not in the spoilar tag. And yes if that sounded dirty well that's how a southern maniac such as myself declares approval for some awesome skin mods. Too bad this is the only vid i can see of these RWBY Skin mods for L4D2. Just mute the commentary if you aren't in to that.

I'm not sure if I preferred Twin Snakes over the original MGS. In some ways I did, because of the significant graphics overhaul (which mattered to me back in those days) but on the other hand it lost a lot of its charm without the strictly top-down perspective. Like how the GTA titles did from the third game onwards. Those games were so much better on the PS1. But I found most of the game a lot easier...asides from that first Vulcan Raven fight in the tank. It seemed a lot easier top down; actually aiming for the guy on top of the tank and not getting mowed down was pretty tricky for me.

I had more trouble with Mantis than Wolf, though. Crazy levitating chairs, dodging literally everything I throw at him, that screen of death every few minutes, controller port swapping...urgh. That fight was such a bloody nuisance.

Well ladies and guys, I'm about to embark on another magical journey because of Lord Gaben granting the greatest special offering ever.

But i'm going to strictly play FEAR 1 on broad daylight though. I remember FEAR 1 scarring my manhood back in the day. Ya'll already know i clicked the buy button the moment i saw that delicious price tag.

Dunno what currency it is for the rest of the world, but those wanting to play FEAR RIGHT NOW or have never done so, definitely check it out on your own currency (aka your own accounts).

I can't imagine the Mantis fight on an emulator. Then again, why would i even try. MGS is best experienced on actual hardware.

"I see you like--"
*reads your Steam library*
*computer explodes*

The PSN sales right now are pretty impressive! Unfortunately for me, I own everything I want to own...except for Shovel Knight. Guess I'll be postponing my plans for Ratchet and Clank for a bit longer. Especially since Ray Gigant is out next week, and Blanc is out the week following, so I'll need money for those too. Can't afford all these games. xD

On a random note, it appears that some retailers over here have broken the release date for Uncharted 4. Two weeks early. Someone screwed up big time.

I still want PSN to put up Demon Souls...

And a lot of classic PS1 titles like Crash, Medieval, and Castlevania: SotN

Those are all up on PSN...the EU PSN at least. Can't speak for the US one. Just make an EU account and get them from there, though.

Demon's Souls certainly is as that's the only way I have access to it (since, I believe, it was a PS+ game eons ago). I'm fairly sure at least SoTN has a PSN release. Speaking of releases, actually, Hyperdevotion Noire just got released on Steam. Gotta pick that up when I can.

And ugh, this PSN sale is very good. Like, painfully so. And they even have all these good Vita dea- oh. Oh right. Expensive proprietary cards. SIGH

Dracula X Chronicles on PSP comes with Symphony of the Night too, so if it's not separate on there you could get it through that...and the murderously hard old-school Rondo of Blood remake as well.

I'm more or less set up digitally for life with my Vita now...I bought 2 8GB and 2 16GB memory cards. Those weren't enough. So I bought a 64GB. So when I fill that up - give or take a couple more games - I have those to fall back on. xD

...so what? Another year, another cookie-cutter CoD title. Love it or hate it, but don't expect anything from it beyond what you always get~

Unless of course, it's a fancy title for a collection of remastered Modern Warfare games.

I wouldn't have thought they'd start remastering CoD titles at this stage, even if they would get a terrifying amount of money out of it. But then, this IS the remaster generation...

Also, it looks like I may finally be buying a Humble Bundle. Even if the only game I want out of those is Shantae...$1 is, like, 69p. Hell yes <3

Honestly, "Infinite Warfare" sounds like the title of a mobile F2P. Wouldn't be surprised.

But yeah, bought that. A dollar for PC's a steal. I already have Pirate's Curse on the Wii U (and I got a code for it in last months Humble Monthly on PC), but I've been wanting it on the 3DS since it just feels more at home there. Depending on what's added later, I might just go the full $13 and give away Rhythm Thief (fun game, if you haven't played it. I have it physically, though, so if anything I'll just back up my physical copy and install it to my 3DS).

Also, unrelated, Danganronpa 3's Future and Despair arcs are airing at the same time, which is neat and has me pretty excited. Mainly for the Despair arc, cannot wait for that at all. Plus ZTD's coming out this Summer...ah. 's gonna be a fun time.

Yeah, I have Rhythm Thief physical too, otherwise I'd be all over it, and I've had Darksiders II for PS3 since it came out...have been thinking about the PS4 version from time to time. I think they fixed the godawful Sammael boss fight glitch. Even if they didn't...it'd be fun to play it again somewhen. We really need a Darksiders III...

since I woke up without any back pains this time...

John Romero, turning us into his B**ches since 1993.

So in recent memory, he released a remake of E1M8, which serves as a replacement for the original E1M8 Map Phobos Anomaly, then just a few hours ago, HE RELEASED ANOTHER REMADE MAP in E1M4, a remake of Command Control!

For those who don't know John Romero, simply put, to some of us FPS fanatics out here, he is one of our Gods, one of the founders of Id software, one of the leading map designers of Doom, basically he's an important figurehead in the lore of First Person shooters.

AND 20++ years after their time, he's still kicking in.. LIKE A MUTHAPUDDING CHAMPION.

Oh and he and Adrian Carmack are reuniting to create another First Person Shooter, but this time, with them at the helm, I'm hoping that this will be painis ripping good. Its called Blackroom and I'm definitely kick starter backing it since its going to be a return to the main principles of FPS gaming that made the Genre what it is back in the 90s. Circle Strafing and expertly crafted level design baby!

And yes, if Blackroom does end up in a few years time, I'm welcome to be the part of John Romero's collective beaches. It doesn't matter who you are, or what you are. John Romero is our man, HE'S SUPERBAD.

Great piece of news to actually start the day.

Morale of the story (yes i meant to say Morale): Past developers who think they aren't has beens should definitely try following what John Romero does. Still kicking, living, and breathing life into the gaming community by contributing to the masses. Seriously. We need more of them in our lives.

There aren't many individuals in the gaming industry I think highly of, really. Koji Igarashi is one, though. A lot of others I know of, but their games have been hit-or-miss with me. IGA is the only one off-hand who I can think of who has had a 100% rate of success in being the driving force behind games I've enjoyed. That said, there are a lot of excellent designers/producers out there, who mostly attract either a small cult following or toil away in obscurity. It's typically the ones that attract the masses - dare I say it, Keiji Inafune, for example - who have long since stopped delivering the high quality products associated with them.

Square Enix as a company would qualify as this too. I tend to think in terms of developers/publishers rather than individuals...which I suppose is a disservice to them, but eh.

Hmmm Square Enix as has beens.. well I can't say anything about them lately that's been said all over the world. All i know is that while they are still alive and in the mainstream, they aren't definitely kicking it to the community.

Also, to anyone who has followed Dead or Alive, i'm pretty sure everyone knows who the heck Tomonubo Itakagi is. Those who are VG Smarks probably know that this is the guy who openly hates Tekken, newer video games, current gaming industry trends, and has a one-sided passion for his personal franchises, Dead or Alive being the lead designer. This is one guy who I don't mind returning to the gaming community. He's too high, like literally. He's smoking crack while hugging his Kasumi Dakamuras.

Then we have this guy.. ohh man. Whoever is a CoD Smark out here probably knows who I'm about to mention, who i only found it just now:

Spoiler:

Robert Bowling. Infinty Ward's former creative strategist and community manager. I don't know what he was smoking when they made up Modern Warfare 2's Multiplayer.

AND WE HAVE MORE! ITS TIME FOR VIDEO GAME PERSONALITY SHOW AND TELL BOYS!

Actually, I'm gunna invite everyone to a drinking game. I mention a VG personality, and if anyone can guess what their contribution is to the industry and the community, drink it. SUCK that drink DOWN like a beast!

Hideo Kojima
Tetsuya Nomura
John D. Carmack
David Jaffe
Todd Howard
Nina Freeman
Ed Boon
Jon Tobias
IceFrog
Shigesato Itoi

(I tried my best to diversify the list. can't fill up the post with just Japanese people)

(inb4makingatopicoutofgamingpersonalities please mention more VG)

On the other great note, followers of SNK should know that SNK recently rebranded to simply being "SNK" and no longer "SNK-Playmore" following their KOF XIV ad. This is great news to me as an SNK follower through KOF and Metal Slug. I hope that their rebranding and shifted focus out of Playmore corp will give us the magic that they once offered. Then again, we still need that sweet delicious Metal Slug Reboot to make me happy in the pants.
