Chit-Chat: Back to the Grind(stone)

Activity. Finally. I thought our nice little chat about arcade rail shooting might flourish but oh well :))))

So reading through my first person shooting backlog, maybe i could start with a bit of Halo 1 since I need a lot of inspiration for Brutal Metroid Prime or a much better name in Metroid: Hell on Phobos or some other sick Brutal Doom Spinoff that I'd want to make after I graduate from college. Also why Halo 1? Since I'm getting a funny feeling inside.

I also bought in the Painkiller: Hell and Damnation super special package since the store where I usually buy my games were selling it cheap. Worth it since i got everything from the OST (ooohh which I'll be sharing in the appropriate thread), the game discs, and all of the merchs for the lowest price of 995 PHP (too lazy to convert into Murica/NA currency)

I still haven't played BioShock Infinite yet (hell, I haven't even bought it) and it's been years since I played the first two games. I'd definitely pick up a collection on PS4 if one is coming out.
You're not missing out on much.

It's pretty solid from a storytelling perspective, I'd say, and I think the earlier parts being a commentary on society's really had me. The gameplay, though...Infinite's like a little brother that wants to imitate its older siblings but doesn't actually understand what he's doing. It really feels like the environments weren't designed for the use of powers and the powers weren't designed with the other powers in mind. Among other things, rambling.

I'd still say play it- if I thought it was boring I wouldn't have beaten it, and the story, while not the greatest and a little clumsy, is well-constructed and compelling. It's just a wonderful example of how not to design a game.

It'd make a solid movie, though.

I bought it and then learned that it wouldn't run on my computer. :/

I still played one and two though. Bioshock 1 is amazing and Bioshock 2 is basically Bioshock 1 painted a different color.

I run it on a Windows 7 OS. d:

Also I finally got around to getting a copy of FE: Awakening. And by that I mean I went to the store to order a new copy of it because they didn't have it new.

When i grow up, and by that i mean, finishing college, I'd like to make Brutal RBWY or RBWY Volume: Brutality for Yukari over here. I'm pretty sure that will be the best game 10/10.

Well goodluck playing FE13. Then again, its still a nice game.

In other regards, a few days ago i actually played HOTS in PVP for the very first time with a friend. I was playing Tychus and surprisingly i was able to carry my own weight and did more contribution to enemy hero damage than a Valla (Demon Hunter) player did. And because of that, i finally got back my appreciation for Tychus himself, oh was he such a character in Starcraft 2, an EXQUISITE ONE. Then again, it always happens when an experienced MOBA player such as myself tries out a new game all the time. I remember i had the same feelings i had when i first played League AEONS ago.

Ahh Tychus. My favorite Southern Texan man along with Sundowner. Dat manly Texan accent. Makes me feel that i wanna live in Texas and become a crazy southern maniac. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

You know what video gaming needs? MORE SOUTHERN TEXAN manly badasses. srsly.

Man I'm glad I got FE:Awakening as early as I did cause a copy of that is like $25-$30 used. That game is older than the bloodline of my ancestors at this point, there's no reason it should cost that much.

I got it for $40 new which is kinda... Ungodly for a game that came out in 2012. But I've wanted the game since it came out so I didn't really care so much. I would've got Conquest or Birthright but mommy's gonna probably buy me the bundle for my birthday.

Then again given her track record with promising me things..

Weirdly enough, its 2016 but most of my recent purchases are those from a year or two ago, which is still good since I get to have them in much lower prices. Metal Gear Rising, DW8 (Base and XL), and Shadow of Mordor, all of them being my more recent purchases and have cost me less than buying any 3DS games. All of them were sold at a lovely price of 995 PHP (21.35 USD)

Being almost finished with college is such a blessing. I get to worry only about one thing and I have more time to buy many of the games i never had the chance to try out. I remember missing out on every hot game that was out a few years ago, now i get to play them.

Oh look what i found lying in my Photobucket from aeons ago:
[PokeCommunity.com] Back to the Grind(stone)

Man, i used to be such a beast playing CoD4 on PC via the Asian servers, and forcing people to quit because of the unadulterated mercy. Also Silenced AK because nerfing your own gun out of its raw damage is coooo... I forgot what map is this.. this was one of those TDM maps where i actually can play well, aside from Countdown, Bog, and that other map. That other guy in my team was heavy baggage though. Look at his deaths.

Supply and demand, my friend. It really shouldn't come as any surprise: it's one of the best 3DS games out there.

Got around to beating Deponia Doomsday. I kinda liked the ending, but I think the one from Deponia 3 was still better. It's also quite funny how people seem to complain about how the series ended. {XD}

Don't know if I want to get for that one achievement, though. They really had to put that stupid thing in, didn't they? {XD}

I'm not surprised, but it's still ungodly that a 4 year old game is still full price. d:

I sold Super Smash Bros. Melee, a game more than 15 years old, for the lowest price on Amazon....which was I think somewhere in the $45 range.

Never in my life have I been happier to have bought a game on a whim for a fairly cheap price. I wasn't even really into Fire Emblem at the time - I'd tried Sacred Stones but didn't really get into it, but I saw PoR for $15 in Circuit City (RIP) and decided to give it a try. It's really the game that got me into the series, and I just about shat a brick a while back when I saw how much it and Radiant Dawn go for now.

Too bad there are so many people that will never experience those games because of that limited availability/expense - best cast of characters in the series, in my opinion.

Since our theme for a few posts will be all about purchases and missing out on them, I'll just share my story, or me trying to calm down my friend...

So my friend's kinda pissed because he's missing out on the Borderlands megasales on Steam since AMEX credit cards seem to not work now, while I was comfy enough with my Visa. So we put together our anthem about our love for steam:

Spoiler:

wished i could help my friend out... but oh well. Its really hard these days for some young adults like us to ask our parents to buy us a game..
