Well, of course you would say that, because they're your standards! xD
I wouldn't say my standards are that hard to see. I don't want localization that makes the game accessible to western audience through content. I want localization that makes the game accessible through language. Without additional gimmicks. And without English dub, but that's somehow necessary.
And regarding that article, it's the guy that was responsible for localization of RB2 and 3 (no big problems there) but especially Neptunia U (which made IFI kick him out), there's no way his opinion about proper localization could be considered valid.
I think I can see where you're coming from though, even if I definitely don't agree with you for the most part. I mean, what do you do if these things just don't translate? You can't really properly encapsulate a lot of elements of Japanese culture inherent in the language and tone by straight translating the text...
Hmm...asides from Castlevania, I honestly don't care about Konami at all, which might be why I'm more harsh on Square Enix - they're responsible for a lot of different franchises I like. I'm more invested in their series, so they're substantially worse to me.Nah, I feel you. I just think that in comparison, Konami is just....well, I won't say irredeemable but that's close enough to what I'm thinking.
