Banned Episodes of Pokemon

    has anybody ever wondered about the banned episodes of pokemon and why they got banned?
    I have especially one of the episodes called 'the legend of dratini' just for having a gun pointed at ashs face oh, come on thats silly!.

    I whole heartedly blame christians, america, protective parenting tendency and ironically enough on the point of guns, republicans. Not necessarily in that order.
     
    Yes I agree but it is a kids anime/cartoon but hey what can a little bit of guns in a anime episode do to you? Anyway I believe that they should not have been banned as Drantini is one of my favourite pokemon.... :)
     
    I think once again 4Kids have messed up, give them around of aplaughse *claps* but i thank them for making the dubs in english though but WHY THE HELL! would they cancel such a good looking episode cos i love dratinis and i would love to see the legend but besides that episode is theyr'e anymore banned episodes that anyone would like to know about?

    I find it a bit stupid that Legend Of Dratini gets banned because it has guns yet guns have appeared several times in other episodes. In Here Comes The Squirtle Squad, guns are pointed directly at Ash and in The Mystery Menace, guns are pointed directly at a Bulbasaur and in other episodes, they have actually been fired yet all these get shown.

    Also, I would have loved to have seen Holiday in Acapulco uncut. Why is it called Acapulco anyway when they were in Porta Vista, not Acapulco.

    The reasons for banning The Ice Cave is a bit stupid also as Jynx appears in several episodes, which have all been shown. Why show them and not The Ice Cave?

    The only truly good reason for being banned is obviously Electric Soldier Porygon because of the seizures. All the other episodes would have been okay for being shown.

    Another thing what bugs me is not the banned episodes but scenes what have been cut/edited from the original episodes such as Misty slapping Ash in the early episodes, Squirtle threatening to kill Misty, etc. Personally, I would have no problem seeing this and the rest of the episodes in their original translations, the way they were meant to be shown.
     
    i remember a long time ago i had on VHS some ppl shooting missles at tentacruel... idk if that got banned or not, and i have no idea where that vhs went
     
    well if the episodes have suggestive themes such as james cross dressing an wearing fake boobs then its too much for 4kids to handle. though ive seen episode caps from the newer pokemon seasons with dawn and they edited out her under wear when its shown a bit quiet often. Anyways thats how it is. I remember when the porygon episode was shown to be removed in a magazine article.

    Blame extremist christians.I'm a christian, and i don't do anything wrong.

    And no, the one with Tentacruel wasn't banned (despite the fact it was killing people by crushing buildings)
     
    It has to do with 4kids being anal retentive, columbine gun issues, 9/11 and percived racial stero types.

    4kids over dub's and edits everything, thats why beauty and the beach was only aired once heavily dubbed. columbine had an effect on the legend of dratini, electric soilder porygon was banned everywhere for the epilepsy issue, tenticruel&tenticool episode was banned (US ONLY) because of the buildings in the episode being destroyd (a few episodes in johto series where banned in the us aswell like two towers aswell as kanto's tower of terror). And the ice cave was banned in the us because of jynx.

    4kids did dub and tone down that episode. Apparently they couldn't air it because a worldwide ban was placed on that episode by the Japanese government. It also would have been kind of rude to air an episode that harmed so many people in another country. I'm sure they just wanted to forget about it.
     
    Besides that Porygon-incident, I wouldn't find the other banned episodes/clips/scenes unsuitable for kids. C'mon, who says that no kid wasn't playing with his toy gun when he/she was watching The Legend of Dratini?
