Banning Comic Sans Font

That's just plain dumb. It's just a dumb font. Grow up.

Thank you for calling my opinion dumb. Shall I do the same to yours, or do you care to elaborate and provide a mature and logical reason behind your statement?

I wasn't talking to YOU. I was talking about the article, thanks.

Then state how it's dumb please. Especially since I directly support that article and I take offense to your comment about it being dumb. Do not say something if you can't back it up.

Ok, let's not go into hissy fits. Of all threads I don't want to see this one become a flamewar too...

And how am I a loser because I cannot stand seeing a certain font in public? I'm a graphic artist with a natural eye for design, I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about and isn't just about taste.

In fact, I love Comic Sans in web comics and whatnot, because that's where it belongs. But when I go to a restaurant, I want my menu to be something professional, and not a font that makes it look like a child made the menu, and thus a child owns the restaurant.

If you don't recognize the relativity of things like this (as well as most other things).....well, I won't say what I would normally say about you, for fear of receiving more hostile, mean-spirited comments. All I'll say is that I think you are being judgemental, as well as that you have an inflated ego.

Touche, didn't mean to come off as egotistical, but I did, bleh.

Anyways, I've taken courses in typography, and there's a right time and place for every font. Comic Sans doesn't belong in things like Bibles, etc. based on the principles of typography. And because I have studied and appreciate graphic arts, I support the motion to ban the font from public use because it's become something of a nuisance to me (and others who support the ban as well).

And relevance is a very subjective thing, because clearly this topic is relevant to me, whereas you could care less, obviously.

I see the arguing has simmered down. But, please, take it to the VMs if you must argue, okay? One more word that starts a fight, and I will get Chibi-chan to close this. So let's be cool.

***No mini-modding intended***

No offense, but I think the so-called "fights" are what keep internet forums from being boring.

Then go somewhere else please. We don't do that on this forum. Now I said what I said and I meant what I meant. Not debatable.

@ShinjisLover: Arguing isn't for VMs either. :[

Yeah, it's just better than my thread. XD I really don't want my thread to be flooded with arguments that don't touch upon the actual subject.

Agreed. And we aren't fighting, we're discussing two points of view. Personal attacks are fighting, and there's hardly been anything close to a personal attack (or one that's big enough to matter).

Then I will keep from arguing, but I have to say, I think you will get an intellectually stagnant forum if debate is discouraged.

Then let's not report people, lol.
Back to the discussion....stop sidetracking.

Eh, I only reported so that someone could step in and stop the name calling (before anything got out of hand). I guess I'm not fighting, but they are?

Anyways...

Nuuuuuuu you are incorrect anything can be art even this little paint splatter OH MY GOD I JUST GOT $2324589345 DOLLARS FOR THAT

Oh wow. I'm practically rofling at this (no one in particular, of course)

Anyhow, I don't think it should be banned from legal documents. Just remember it's the person who insisted on using Comic Sans look like an idiot, not you. That should make you think twice about signing that contract, kekekekekeh.
