Banning Comic Sans Font

Banning it? no! It shouldn't be...most of the times I used it..I love that font
 
I feel that banning it is also an over-reaction. It is after all just a font. If they were merely campaigning for a reduce use of it, or for use of it in places were it is meant to be used rather than office reports or what-not, than that's ok, but a ban is a bit silly, really.

Amuses me though that some people here are on the other extreme, saying that it'll be banned over their dead body. =P
 
...hahaha wow. I hate Comic Sans, but it has its place.

Why the heck do they wanna ban it so much? Maybe we like the font,people can not just charge over us you know!

I find it hilarious how some of you get worked up over people wanting to ban it and then getting worked up yourselves about not banning it. . >.>" Sometimes, I think it needs to be banned from things like hospitals, BIBLES, and the like. . Well if you use it for a fun use like a profile on PC and such yeah. But for official stuff and posting and anything god no. Its a fine text its just they took it and made it overkill and all over the place.
 
Yeah. I know there are loads of worse fonts out there, but Comic Sans got its bad reputation because it's overused and too often used in the wrong places. Other fonts I'd put up there with Comic Sans would be Papyrus and Curlz MT. I'm sick of them, too.

But banning fonts doesn't really make any sense at all.
 
Actually papyrus would have been my font if I saw that it does not go good at all outside of msn. But yeah I love those quirky fonts but if it werent for overuse and wrong use they could be popular.
 
Wow. I always said that font should be banned as a joke, but I never realised there was an actual movement for it XD I would support it, it's the most ugly, sickly font I've ever seen. Surprising you can think that about a font, but I do haha. I hate it whether it's used in official stuff or casual stuff, wherever it is, it's ugly ~ I've thought that for years.

Sure, I hate Comic Sans as well, but to ban it is, well, just a TAD crazy, y'know.

There's a hell of a lot worse fonts out there. Especially all those goofy ones with animals and crap (like Puppypaw).
 
Why does anyone even care enough to ban a stupid font? It's not like it's hurting anybody. I don't really care about it but going through all this trouble just to get rid of a way of typing letters is ridiculous.
 
Why would you ban a font? What does that accomplish?
I couldn't care less if Comic Sans was gone, but what's the point of banning it?

Is it harming anyone?
No.

Do some people like to use it?
Yes.

So, I don't see why this is even considered.

No, because that only strengthens the views that it should only be used in comic books.

They want it banned from professional use not your lame internet use, fyi. Why? It's a terribly unprofessional font and is so overused to the point where it just makes half the world's population look even more retarded than they already are. Tell me how banning it from use in restaurants, Bibles, etc. is unreasonable and crazy and stupid? Is the Bible a comic book? Is your food menu a comic book? That's what I thought.

Comic Sans is a fun font, I don't see any reason why they would want to ban it. ^^;
 
Yes, ban Comic Sans please. One of my favourite teachers at school types all her assignment tasks for us in Comic Sans and it's practically the thing I hate the most about her. xD

Ugh... Comic Sans is in my top 10 overrated list.

Yeah, I think they are going too extreme for this. Why are they trying so hard on a font? There are other things in this world that should have this attention!

How does it look nooby?. It's just a font, nothing negative about it.
