You know that there is some weird guy in the Pokemon Center of Mauville City. There maybe only one. One is Bard but I don't remember the name of the other guy.

So, tell us what told him. Bard said: " SHAKE IT DO THE DIET DANCE"", I modified it to: "SHAKE IT DO THE DRAGON DANCE".

So, What did you tell him?

"SHAKE IT DO THE DIET DANCE" to "ENCYCLOPEDIA IT DO THE DIET DANCE" just to see what it would sound like. (you couldnt understand encyclopedia :( )

I have the weirdo who asks you loads of random questions, doesn't seem to do anything though :(

I think what he does changes depending on your starter.

Actually, the person you get in the Mauville Pokemon Center is directly linked to the last digit of your Trainer ID:

0 or 1: Bard. All he does is sing. You can change one word of his song and one word only.
2 or 3: Hipster. He tells you a hip word or phrase to be put in the word bank.
4 or 5: Trader. He will ask to swap a Secret Base decoration.
6 or 7: Gossiper. He tells stories about different people.
8 or 9: Rambler. He rambles on and asks stupid questions.

This is all meant to work with mixing records with someone else. I can go into more detail if you like, but basically when you mix records you get the guy whoever you mixed records with had. Not a bad concept, but could have been done so much better, like incorporating the Mystery Gift from GSC. That would certainly have encouraged more of us to mix records for sure.

Does answering that weird crazy guy with frizzy hair (the Rambler, I'm assuming) affect anything at all in the game?

No. Like I said, it was just a feature that was supposed to be "cool" when you mixed records with someone else. If I had Bard and changed a word and then mixed records with you (let's say you had Rambler), then you would now have Bard and could change a word and I would have Rambler. If we mixed records again, I would get Bard back and can then change a word again, and you would get the useless Rambler back. I guess the fun is changing the song after mixing records over and over.

About the only beneficial guy is the Trader. You trade him a decoration, mix records, and then the other person not only gets a decoration from Trader, but also the one that you gave him. Great way to get and share Secret Base decorations with your friends, but of course this feature could have been utilized just so much better.

Much like the entire DP game, but those that know me have heard my disdain for that crappy generation enough.

Please do not posts in threads that haven't been posted in for longer than a month, it's against the rules. Thanks.
