"Barry's Busting Out All Over!" Episode Discussion

Barry (Jun) is seems cocky, and he seems to idolize Paul (Shinji) too much, but he does not seem to be that bad and the characters are suppose to have flaws.
Anyway the episode overall was entertaining.
 
If you don't mind, Charaxes, I'd like to have the episode discussions when they're first broadcast in the UK, but I don't mind if you want to put them off until they air in the USA
 
Honestly I think it's fair if we wait. It's like getting your dinner on your plate first, but waiting for the others to sit down too. It's best to wait until it's aired in the US. I don't think there's any straggler's behind us US-ans, but I could be wrong.
 
All I have to say is that... Barry really needs to learn how long a second is... (I've heard people call him Barry for quite awhile... although I'm not totally sure where they would have heard the name.)

Actually, there are quite a few of us from the UK here. We just watch it online every week :/

It's a shame that he seems to have an pretty good VA, so it does the character justice, when at the same time the name 'Barry' almost kills the character.

At first I thought this episode would be about growing berries, due to the name.

I don't hate the name, but I do agree that it doesn't fit too well. Going with a default name like Pearl would've been fine, or even using "Lucas" (I know, not the same in-game character, but whatever).

Still loved the episode though. I did something that I haven't done in a long time: rewatched a Pokemon episode. It was just that good.
 
Watched the episode this morning. I was looking forward to it and it didn't let me down!

It had the "follow me to *insert place*" music from the game! My favourite game music!
"GSC Bug Catching Contest" I KNEW I reconsigned that song from my Crystal version...!
We shouldn't insult the name 'Barry'. There's someone called Barry in this thread!
He was never going to be called 'Pearl'. Younger viewers know that Pearl is a girl's name.
Barry is such a Paul fanboy! I lost count of the amount of times he uttered 'Paul'. Cute :) I wouldn't be surprised if he owns a t-shirt with Paul's face on.

I don't see why we have to wait until it airs in the US. After all, the UK is going to slow down on the episodes next week (correct me if I'm wrong - but I checked ahead to after the school holidays and ITV4's gone all the way back to around "The Psyduck Stops Here" (actually in the listing it says "The Payduck"...))

So, the episodes will still in the US first again soon. Besides there's always The Tube (which I thought meant a tv the first time I heard it but didn't get why Barry didn't just SAY that...)

Perhaps Paul's arrogance will help keep Ash grounded, but perhaps not. Ash is beginning to act over confident again. We'll have to wait and see.

I don't see the dislike of the name they gave Jun. Barry isn't bad at all and there have been worse names in the past. Seriously, we won't see him again for another 5 months.
 
Baryy is actually a very nice name, as it resembles that he isn't a first class trainer.
